Not for me. Collins and Binks had played well. The former created the chance for Luton so takes more of the blame - but Binks attempt was fucking laughable - embarrassing.

He wouldn't have needed to make the attempt if Collins had stayed on his line rather than come 15 yards to punch Kitching in the back of the head.

I'm going to go back to we played 40 minutes with equal numbers and amassed just 3 shots.

0-13 11v11 (13 mins)
68- 96 10v10 (28 mins)
That's cos you are as negative as they come tbh

Edit actuallys that's not unfair sorry.
I do think it's hard to change mentality so fast though. I think we got ob top and retained possession well for 10 mins after Walsh went off but then lost control again

Hard to take that one. Ultimately the early dismissal put any plan we may have had to bed. Undone by the high line once again. I get we have injuries but that set up is just not doing us any favours away from home.
By the time the numbers are evened up, the players are shattered.

I get that they are managing injuries with players, but having got to half time still in the game, i think we absolutely should have taken Simms off, he simply cannot cover the ground needed whilst managing an injury, and risking further injury problems to the squad.
I also get that they couldn't bring BTA on at half time as he is also being managed and probably has set minutes, that's fine, can totally understand they have injuries, however why could we not have taken Simms off and stuck Wright up top, maybe Paterson on the left, he's match fit and i'm sure capable of defending.
Also, once the numbers were evened up, could we not have made an attacking change a bit sooner?, only the staff will know.

Could say a lot about the ref but ultimately it could have ended with 9 each, Binks probably should have had 2 yellows.

What it all comes down to in the end though, is the amount of points lost this season by goalkeeping / defensive errors.
I don't blame Collins, i really don't, the decision to keep playing him when Wilson is fit, is not on him.
His mind must be a mess with the constant errors, clearly backing him and putting him back out there hasn't been working, so take him out, for his own sake.
I really like Lampard, and all the coaching staff, but i think there has been naivety at times this season. I think we may see the addition of a defensive coach in the summer.

Again, the only sub he makes after Walsh gets sent off is BTA on 92 mins after we go 1-0 down.
Options off the bench were reasonably limited though at least from an attacking perspective - Paterson maybe but they were a big team Luton. Rapha would have been a bit of a gamble.

I reckon there’s probably frustration that they took simms off and then Walsh gets sent off. He’d probably have stayed on if they knew that was coming. Could have gone two up the middle then.

anyways it’s gone. A lot of ifs, buts and maybes

Let's not forget Thomas, Dovin, Mason-Clarke, Torp and Milan didn't play.

Arguably 5 first team starters.

You then add Dasilva's red card in the mix, you have to say we played our hearts out.
Luton literally put every fucking thing on the line today, they had to.

I can only look at Simms and Collins and just shake my head, but I think at this point it's absolutely evident both players will be told they are surplus to requirements in the summer.

When I look at our squad, we aren't far away. We need a 1st choice keeper with Dovin out, we desperately need someone of that left hand side, that can run all day long like Milan. We desperately need a centre forward aswell thst has a first touch and can link up the play.

I se us needing 3 more players that are first team quality, when put like that, we really have to get this summer window right.

Simms, Collins, Asante must be moved on in the summer. If we can get 6 million quid then it's a bonus.

But we are so close to being a squad that's good enough to be promoted automatically.

We really aren’t, we’ll end up about 25-30 points off second place.

Agree with most but in my opinion miles off a top 2 side

I think it entirely depends on recruitment, if the club go and recruit 3/ 4 players that are top draw, we really have a chance.

I've been a massive critic of our defenders, but Kitching for me has really impressed of late.

If we had someone on that left hand side that was as mobile as Milan/Sakamoto and had the work rate to want to track back and help out, it would make a huge difference.

The goalkeeping situation is honestly destroying us and Simms playing is another massive negative. The guy does absolutely nothing and it's bad enough with Haji's lack of work rate, but at least Haj actually scores goals.

I genuinely believe if the board and scouting really get it right in the summer we can make a serious push.

Simms is feeding off scraps in terms of chances though - fair enough people can go on about movement and work rate. But at Plymouth Simms had one chance and got it on target and it led to goal. Today he had nothing.

wright is a striker that plays on the wing - so I think naturally tracking back to protect the full back isn’t something that’s in his make up - that said he’s had enough time playing out there to get used to it.

Strangely Luton’s late goal hasn’t made any real difference to what’s needed in the last game
