Your boss announces in the national press that next week the company you work for may go into liquidation?
Yep, it would obviously affect it for every game I didn't win, but not for every game that I did win.
It would be the sole factor affecting results for a whole season..

Would it affect you and how you performed at work?
Not if I was a footballer. Strong individual performance will be noticed by other clubs.

Well it clearly didn't this team as they had enough desire to fight their way to a draw and come back from two down for the first time I can remember for a while.
So clearly no.
What about the 40 years before tonight?
Football is not the same as other workplaces. Nearly every footballer at this club would get signed up in the football league. Yes some would take pay cuts, but its not as if they're losing a job in manufacturing at the age of 50. As you say, it should give them a kick up the arse.
When you have to up sticks and move when you are not expecting it and lose a lot if money when you have financial commitments.
You will need to find clubs who still have a budget to offer you wages for the last ten games.
I would be amazed if it did not affect some of them
When was the last time we came from 2 goals down?
It's very rare that we go 2-0 down
I remember the freak match against Crewe where we destroyed them.
Then I think we may be going back to Notts County, where we pulled one back?
I maybe wrong this if off the top of my head.
It is very very rare that someone in this league takes a two goal lead against us.
Its happened at least 3 times this season and this is the only time we have fought back to get a result so your rather juvenile post is disproven
3 times including this one?
So very rare then.
Juvenile to think that if someone is on the verge of losing their job. With the possibility of no compensation and the new job if they get one is likely to involve a move and possibly will be for less money. To think that this may play on their mind and affect their performance at work be it as a physio, a player training or a coach coaching is a juvenile consideration.
Yes think you are right there.....
I'm sorry, but did we actually lose the last two games in Dongles alternate World?
The one where Andy Thorn is flying high at the top of the Premiership with West Ham after romping through the Championship with them last season after he was poached from us?
In the real World, we have won one and drawn one(both coming from behind) since the "L" word was used.
Really do fail to see your point.
There has only been one game since Tim's
Statement.
I can see why you fail to see the point.
Of course it would influence their motivation. If they are playing quite well despite this fact is another issue. But to admit it's anything other than positive would be for Grenduffy to divorce himself from the notion that Fisher's playing a blinder
It's kinda a bit embarrassing to have to try and argue that it does play on people's minds.
When Steve Waggott was asked about this at the Trust meeting the other week he stated that it isn't affecting the players at all. Players were basically selfish and as long as they were getting paid they stayed in their insulated bubble away from the outside world. I am sure they are being told not to worry about it - its all just posturing etc.

I would, for balance, be interested in hearing a candid view from a player with kids settled in a local school. Whilst they may in the medium term find employment elsewhere, it simply has to be unsettling until clarity prevails
If I was them I would have my agent making phone calls just in case.
Why would you do that in any case? You can't move on because the club is under a transfer embargo.
Tim had not made his statement by then.
Now they are getting told they may not be getting paid over the next couple of weeks.
