Well it clearly didn't this team as they had enough desire to fight their way to a draw and come back from two down for the first time I can remember for a while.

It might concentrate the mind a bit, which, if you could ever believe that footballers take much of an interest in anything that goes on outside their own bubble, you could say has happened with coming from behind to win on Saturday, and coming back to get a draw from 2-0 down tonight.

However if you want to believe that our team plays better with the Sword of Damocles hanging over their heads you're more than entitled to think that, and maybe suggest that Fisher should have pulled this tactic at the start of the season.

Football is not the same as other workplaces. Nearly every footballer at this club would get signed up in the football league. Yes some would take pay cuts, but its not as if they're losing a job in manufacturing at the age of 50. As you say, it should give them a kick up the arse.

Potentially you may stop getting paid. Your contract may not be honoured.
You will need to find a new club. Try to match your current wages due to your financial commitments.
You will need to consider moving to another part of the country.
I think it may effect some people's desire and motivation (not all)
But these players are only human.

I would imagine over the last 40 years anytime an owner if Coventry talked about liquidating the club in a weeks time it would affect the staff at the club.

I remember the freak match against Crewe where we destroyed them.

To think that this may play on their mind and affect their performance at work be it as a physio, a player training or a coach coaching is a juvenile consideration.

Making plans, I would not want the club to go insolvent then I begin trying to find a new club.

I would want my agent to put the feeders out if Coventry went bust next week would you take my player, these are his wages.
