I bet that the Ricoh in all it's majesty had a significant impact on our Mr PH4 in deciding to invest in CCFC.

He must have been mightily impressed when first walking down the entrance concourse and seeing the conference facilities, concert arenas, bars, restaurants, hotel accommodation and the sheer splendour of the rest including the casino.

All this coupled with the potential site for regeneration and the impending rail line (since delayed) must have, thankfully, proved irresistible and hence we can now look forward to the resurrection of a new era.

Maybe but considering that Preston Haskell has been linked with Charlton and Leeds in the past, there's no way that the Ricoh and the land around the stadium is the only thing that makes Haskell want to invest in our Football Club.

As i said it must have "swayed" him along with other criteria to make a more viable overall package than say Charlton or Leeds

Or he bid a value consummate with the worth he placed upon the business. It doesn't mean he 'lost' or that he hasn't got sufficient funds. You can go on ebay tonight and 'win' every auction of you want.

I reckon it's more prudent to set a sensible level and stick to it. Sometimes you'll be outbid by someone with another agenda. It may be insanity.

The sensible businessman sticks to his guns and budget: if you'll forgive the wild west reference

hope who buys the the stadium will convert one of the ends behind the goal. Love to see a 2 tier and moved closer to the pitch.

He wasn't too keen on elland road. The Ricoh is a much more inviting place for perspective investors/owners, especially for someone like Haskell who appears to be more interested in the infrastructure than the club and team.

For me I'd much rather watch football at elland road week in week outbuti can understand where he is coming from, especially with a sold out Davis cup tie being played at the same time as a football match in the same venue.

It's no coincidence that bates spunked 2 years worth of transfer budget on redeveloping the Ella's road main stand and corporate suites.

The word is he was impressed with a sold out davis cup and footy at the same time, add in to that concerts, corporate stuff etc, well it is impressive.

Thats peanuts. You have to speculate to accumulate.
The davis cup was sold out, again factor in f/b car parking,hotel, merchandise etc etc.
Fook me the money we dont make from the ricoh, no wonder were stuffed.

Just under 9000 spectators over 3 days with the facility unavailable for anything else for about 3 weeks for laying out the courts?

Exactly how much should the council pay CCFC for playing at the Ricoh then for 23 games minimum per year with far greater numbers than the Davis Cup brought?

Pleased you fell into my trap though.

Thanks nostradamus, i thought he was attracted by the league one side that is crumbling around itself, a 2/3 empty ground every home match and one major success in 130 years.

Its pretty obvious the stadium swayed him, we've known this for a while. Apparently there was too much investment needed in leeds stadium so he prob bid what he thought was right, no more. If someone outbid him its because he deemed it unwise to raise his own bid

With the Council paying £50,000 per 9000 fans to watch the Davis Cup at the Ricoh, then i think just this season they owe us £1,388,150 for League Games, and £450,000 for Cup games at the Ricoh.

Of course it was, look at the big takeovers in lower league football, they've all had brand new swanky stadiums that attract investors so they can develop the land and make a nice profit, that's why people invest in football, PH4, like anyone, wants to make something off his investment, that's why his bid hangs on getting 50% of ACL. With SISU the ground was a cash-cow for them, but for PH4, it's not (sarcasm), the exact same applies, because thats how these capitalists work. Interestingly, the term 'Mayfair hedge-fund' is used to undermine their case, their case is similar (in regards to the stadium) I guarantee no one will use 'Texan property developer' to insult him in the context.

Before the SISU 'lover' bollocks comes out, I hope this PH4 is legit, but I'm not going to bank on him like far too many people have, far too easily, what if he lets us down, like. Hoffman did?

Correct me if im wrong but ph4 had nothing to do with the dallas cowboys, he has his hand in a few small american football teams and their stadiums are nothing like the cowboys.

Just because the local stadium tops ours dosnt mean he wasnt impressed with the ricoh

I can almost guarantee the 'Texan property developer' thing will be a reality as soon as people get impatient at any lack of what they want to see, & agree with your thoughts regarding wanting something major back for the investment. Don't we all? Even contributing to a charity we do it for self reward - just not financial (unless its a tax break!), some get a feel good factor from it. Investors in football are really hard-nosed business people though.

I don't have a problem if PH4, Sisu, or anyone make a fortune out of our football club. The only way to really make any money back is through success.

The reason I want Sisu out is because they basically don't know their arse from their elbow.

He's into property retail, and car park C has plans passed to build an enormous hotel, correct me if I'm wrong but that's half his battle already won with the plans having been granted, the football club is a bonus on top of having a huge modern stadium
