Now I hate digging old threads up but perception is often reality. Only 2 posters rated Malaga above wood, wood was largely accepted as man of the match.

Malaga averaged around 6.

Do you hate them because you struggle to read them correctly Malaga was given mostly 7's a couple of 8's and a couple of 6's

Who was MOM Wood or Malaga based on this?

It also so happened to be Wood's best game of the season by a country mile. Maybe he was still in the shop window and giving a fuck, maybe he was motivated by playing against Utd 'cos he's a Wednesdayite. Even I gave him an 8 and I think he's absolute dog shite.

Nice to see the Glory Hole moment revived, though.

And maybe Wood played well 'cos he had a decent ball-playing CB alongside him that complimented him?

I think enough decent marks out of ten proves Malaga should be given a fair run in the team. For all those slagging off Malaga about only 3 apps in France.
How many did Brown make for Man utd over 3 years?..............................That would be a big fat zero would it?

Brown was 19, Malaga is 25.

Why have 4 managers ignored him?

Yeah, and we got rid because he was shite.

How good is it to dream in HD?

For me Malaga had the man of the match, but I remember Wood had a top game as well. I think he was at fault for a goal. But generally he was really good.
He was my favourite defender overall this season

How many did he make for Oldham the season before that?

To be fair, you did say you watched on live stream so wouldn't have the subtleties like poor positional play.

Brown and Barton were at fault, the both got sucked infield leaving their left winger in acres of space to cross in.

(That was sarcasm)

(I wasn't sure if Wood had left his man are made a valiant effort to pick up someone else's at the last minute)

AsI recall it Stupot has it about right ,and the same thing happened in the very next game ,partly through an unsettled backfour ,RB being inadequate in whichever position he was used ,Barton Tiring around 65-70 mins due to lack of pre-season /late signing and just possibly despite looking very assured, a slight lack of understanding /communication for Malaga geting over to help/Cover Browns shortcomings ,apart from that i thought he cut the mustard those two times i saw him.

Why did they all keep picking Sheff when he wasn't contributing?

It was entirely Brown's fault, he completely cocked up and gifted them the ball.

This thread has reminded me of Malaga calmly bringing the ball out of defence, nonchalantly belting it into the stands and then trotting back into position. This has been a good day.

He hit one pass out to the left-wing that was mis-hit and went out for a throw. It bounced several times before going out, it didn't "go into the stands". Aside from that he looked the best passing CB that we've got at the club, and had a perfectly good goal disallowed.

Either:
A) Don't stop taking the pills, or
B) Start taking the pills!

Assuming that they're for your memory ;)

The pills aren't the issue ;)

I liked Malaga, I hoped he'd be our Mats Hummels.

I'd store all those memories if I was you, I very much doubt we'll ever see him in a sky blue shirt again.

Well we've got two years for him to do it in!

Stranger things have happened. Many a player who have refused to be rail roaded suddenly get called upon by the manager when they have no choice. Then never get dropped again

Sheff........

All 5 who were sent to train at The Memorial Park I expect-certainly Sheff, Joachim and Dele. Anyone remember who the other two were?

Ah yes now I remember. This won't happen to Malaga though, they will send him out somewhere on loan for the season then try and cancel his contract at the end of the season.

Isn't that what they have just done? :thinking about:

As above training at the memorial park. Managers don't always get it right

How many managers did that to sheff? 4 managers including the current one have ignored Malaga as an option.....I'm pretty sure he was only on the bench in the last couple of U21 games too.

If it was dele, Joachim and sheff that would have been the 2003/04 season.....sheff was only 20-21, same age as callum Wilson....Malaga's 26 next month.

What 5 managers sent Sheff to the memorial park?

Well I guess if you are right there will be a cluster of clubs demanding his services - including a Premier League one no doubt.
