Roy O'Donovan (4 Viewers)

Is he any good?

Been strong rumours that he is signing for us. Doesn't seem to have played or done much for you guys so guessing not Championship standard but ok for League 2?

I think most at Cov are a bit clueless about him, i think he's only ever played once, in the cup match against Morcambe i think? lol. I think he was pretty handy in league 1 though so may shine in L2.

He done good at league 1 level so I'm sure he will be a good signing for the cobblers.

But we've had two managers now and neither have gave him a chance so definitely not championship standard.

Saw he had a decent loan spell at Hartlepool, makes me thing he'd hope for something in League 1.

We've been linked to an un named Coventry striker for a few weeks now, O'Donovan is the one that fits i guess.

he would look out of place in a sunday league team, he slowly wanders around the pitch until someone plays an inch perfect pass before he losses possesion and then he just stands there with his hands on his hips till he can be bothered to move again.

Sounds like you need to get rid of him then, no place in teams for those sort of players.

I've never liked Eastwood, does he still live in a caravan?

There are a lot of Eastwood haters, in the last couple of seasons when he has had a good run starting he has always got us goals. At the end of this season in the last couple of games he didn't look interested but the same could be said for Gunnar through most of last season.

Eastwood if he wants to be is a different class with his touch and footballing brain.

Wonder if it might be Platt - cannot see him fitting into AT's style of play. Know we have had to offer him a contract extension but sure we would be happy to let him go on a free.

Eastwood does have a great touch but that's not enough. He needs workrate and a better goal ratio. He has had four or five years at this level now and never really done it even once. All of his prolific strike rate was at a lower level. Yes he has been injured and played out of position at times but so have other players and he has still had ample opportunity in his preferred role. It's a shame because he does look to have something about him and often flatters to decieve, but I fear he will never quite make it and needs a move away.

Interesting too that people are willing to easily dismiss R O'D who scored equally well at one level below purely on the basis that two managers haven't selected him so therefore he can't be up to it, but point to the fact that Freddie hasn't been given a sustained run in his favoured role as the reason for his failure, despite the fact that the last four managers he has played under have all felt he hasn't warranted that regular spot.
