What does Fisher have to do with that glorious Sussex resort, might I ask?

I almost spat my coffee when I saw that, please behave! ;)

Fisher might not like coffee he might like something else, of course this an opinion, Why am I not entitled to an opinion now????? :D:D:thinking about::thinking about:

They don't seem open to offers which is outright baffling given the extreme lengths they're going to in order to bust a stadium management company. If somebody were to offer a sizeable percentage of their total investment with more to follow as the club finds it feet, would they really reject it?

Funny because the truth is, that's 100% speculation; Neither side can table offers until ACL accept debt recovery proposal by the administrator.

As far as I can see, they are showing a strong reluctance to do that. Yet somehow people can't escape this impression that SISU are the people to blame for the lack of progress.

If you people think SISU really plan on building a new stadium, or having us play at Northampton for three years, then I think you need to step away from the situation and reexamine it from distance.

The South Downs on one side, beaches and the pier on the other, and an eccentric mix of dubious local shops and stalls in the middle. I'd go back in an instant :p

I'm talking long before the administration process got under way-it must have become apparent to them way before now that this situation was on a downhill slope which would only deteriorate. Why persist with it, throwing more money at it in the process, when you could be looking for people to take it off your hands and get your money back?

I'm sure that isn't their intention but that's what they are coming out and saying (bluff or not). If they hadnt lost trust and respect from the other stakeholders in this like acl, the council, the Higgs trust and the supporters maybe they could negotiate a return to the Ricoh. Playing hardball doesn't work in every situation in life.

I think the question on everyone's lips is how much actual cash have they (recently) and will they, throw at this. Not much I guess...apart from 40m on this new stadium : )

Thirdly, from what I read acl were willing to offer a substantially reduced rent that is apparently the same as what Walsall pay (for twice the stadium and the capacity that if things were going well on the pitch could have generated significantly more income for the club...through ticket sales).

Exactly; What you've read. Printed by the CET who have pledged their allegiance to this 'we will not follow you out of Coventry' move. Therefore they can't be relied on to remain impartial and print a story that paints everything in a fair and open way.

That's simple; In for a penny, in for a pound. Plus, if you remember, they INVITED offers in recent years from the so called 'interested parties' and no offers of any substance were tabled. Read back and you'll see what I mean.

Playing hardball doesn't work in every situation in life.

There's no viable alternative in this situation. But I agree, it doesn't work if the council are prepared to engage in vexatious behaviour and general skullduggery. They need the support of the fans which they will clearly not get. SISU have gone on the record for some time saying that they want access to the revenues that will make this currently non-viable business venture viable. But this is a shock to everybody when nobody listens and they finally do something about it?

That last paragraph I am in agreement on

When were offers invited?

When Hoffman/Elliot alluded to them having 'investors' lined up, even Keys was involved in the anti-climatic speculation.

SISU, knowing this was another attempt to undermine them actually went on the record to say 'we will listen to any offers'. Nothing transpired.

I will find it later.

Would you support Richardson if he was behind a move to northampton and deliberately trying to distress acl?

I was against Richardson because he treated the club like his cash point and he sold our home of 104 YEARS to move to a stdium only HE wanted. HE was the catalyst for what is happening now.

So, of course, I would not support him if he tried to move out of the City. Same as I'm against SISU for proposing it.

As for ACL and them being distressed. I dont care. I support CCFC not ACL or SISU.

As I remember Hoffman did put in an offer of a nominal pound for the club and then tens of millions on various things including paying back some of SISU's money which Dulieu refused to entertain because it wasn't on the right paper. I think we should distinguish carefully between SISU themselves and the idiots they have hired to do their work, Dulieu and Igwe being the worst.

Bear in mind that this was never refuted...So I think TF was probably being straight.

SKY Blues chief executive Tim Fisher has quashed rumours Chinese investors were looking to takeover the relegated club.

Mr Fisher spoke to The Observer yesterday (Wednesday) amid reports in the national media of a potential buyout from Sisu.

He also revealed there had not been any approaches at all during his time at the helm despite TalkSport pundit Richard Keys claiming former vice-chairman Gary Hoffman and had offers turned down in August last year and January 2012.

Constructive was also how the chief executive described talks over reducing the £1.2million-a-year rent to the Ricoh Arena, but ruled out any bid to buy all or part of the stadium while the club are in League Two.

"I am continually surprised when I hear Sisu or CCFC has received formal offers to buy the club in whole or in part," he told the Observer.

"A formal bid has many requirements including a proof of funds and an understanding of the strategy proposed to take the business forward but nothing of the sort has been received.

"I continue to speak with Joe Elliot and Gary Hoffman. They want to do their best for the football club, but despite their best efforts there have been no formal offers."

The financial implications of relegation has sparked supporters to question whether the club could now afford to pay the rent at the Ricoh Arena.

The Sky Blues are the principle tenant, but it does have non-football activities including a hotel, a casino, a conference centre and concerts.

Mr Fisher said: "Whilst I fully appreciate and understand our supporters joining together to call for a reduction to the rent, this is a very sensitive situation at the moment.

"We have to appreciate the potential impact to these businesses. The stadium is a wonderful asset for a club in the Premier League and the Championship, but becomes a liability League One so it is important we bounce back straight away next season.

"We all recognised now is the time to put down any sticks and stones and move to build a relationship that is beneficial to the football club, it's stakeholders and the city of Coventry."

According to Mr Hoffman. 'Mr Dulieu said I think I can Get SISU to agree to this no problem, the deal is a good one'
He had it reaffirmed to keep all the names involved confidential. He then said he wanted assurances he would stay as chairman under the new owners. When he was told this was not possible. Within hours the names appeared in the sun. Deal over.

If true then we all underestimated Kenny's propensity to ruin football clubs.

Where does moving the Football Club out of Coventry, make it beneficial to the City of Coventry?

so the Ricoh being ok for championship and prem but a liability for league one. So now TF plans to build stadium for league one and below. Pleasing to know how sisu's ambitions for CCFC are so high !!!

The point's been missed. SISU never rejected any credible offers - they invited them. Unfortunately the 'offers' fired were informal/impertinent and consequently progress was not made. Also it was intimated to that the stadium rent is not viable at this level.

Now you're going to use an article from a couple of years back to make more petulant arguments about present day CCFC. The simple point was, SISU invited offers.

It's one thing to put out an empty statement and say 'we'll listen to offers'-it's another entirely to go and make the club officially up for sale and encourage bids. If they hadn't appointed the contents of a Fanta bottle to run the club maybe they would've had more success-who knows. They have made so many poor appointments at boardroom level that it really hasn't helped their cause.

They always contain facts. Ask a question and ill factually answer it. Here's a fact. We were charged the highest rent in league one. Here is another fact we were charged the highest rent in the championship. Oh one more fact all other clubs with council owned stadiums have a FAR better deal than us

Sadly the other fact is supporters like you seem to get off on these facts without realising the damage they have done.

you fail to mention a few other facts. It's a fact that ACL offered Sisu a greatly reduced rent and access to match day revenues. It is a fact that attendences have plummeted by the thousands since Sisu have taken over. It is a fact that Sisu at board room level have shown unbelievable contempt to the supporters. It is a fact that Sisu have zero ambition by wanting to build a stadium that is smaller than what Highfield Road was. It is a fact that Sisu tried to bankrupt another company and a charity to get their own way, therefore costing people their jobs. It is a fact that they allowed Ken Dellieu to sit in the dug out. It is a fact they left an incompetent manager in Andy Thorn in charge for so long. Other than my final fact how many times have you mentioned the others or have you conveniently forgotten about those facts?

What have I said that clearly has not been read by you; i do not endorse SISU's historical mistakes, it is simply my belief/opinion that they are acting in the best interests of the club with the stadium business.
Please offer proof that 'ACL offered Sisu a greatly reduced rent and access to match day revenues' - I believe this to be speculation peddled by the CET and smoke/mirrors thrown up by ACL. I will apologise and retract this if you can prove otherwise.

They shook hands on a deal, ACL officially stated this did they not? ACL don't have a track record of constantly lying to the media and to supporters. Tim Fisher's bullshit line of 'I thought it was a goodbye gesture' has obviously been swallowed hook, line and sinker by the likes of you. How can you trust a company that have made SO MANY mistakes in the past with the future of our club? It truly does baffle me.

tbf, if you want the best price possible, you have to try and persuade people they need to give you that best price to get you to scarper.

Saying 'my god, we hate it all I just wish we could get OUT!!!' ain't the best negotiating tactic!

Contradicted? The question about SISU inviting offers was genuine, not a statement. Don't take it so personally when all I'm getting at is that actions speak louder than words in a press release.

So ultimately you have no proof. You are just taking ACL's word. Just like I am taking SISU's word but backing it up with this logic; Where would the sense be in moving home if they really were offered such an attractive deal?

Where the thrust of your stance falls over, is that to secure the venue you claim is so vital to their plans; SISU have behaved immorally and illegally. If they want and need the stadium and it's revenues to make the club viable, there's a way to achieve this - negotiate a price and pay it.

It really should have been that simple

And where the thrust of your stance falls over sir, is that you can't negotiate with yourself. Both parties have to sit at the table and be fair and reasonable, and BOTH parties have suggested they have been so and that the other party hasn't. But for some reason people seem intent on believing and listening to only one side.
