Hopefully it is a cunning one.
We seem to have a few different factions and differing views on which way to go with the Sky Blues' plight.
We have the NOPM. Those who will not go at all, be it Northampton or the Ricoh while Sisu are in charge. We have the NOPM while we play away from the city. We have those who don't want us to go to Northampton but who cannot bear the thought of not seeing their club, so they will go and then a few who just say they will go whatever and if it's to be Northampton then so be it.
Basically though, the vast majority of those groups above are opposed to us moving away, period. It seems to be a tiny minority who don't seem bothered in the slightest about playing outside of Coventry, believing the long term future will be secured.
Okay, so here's the plan!
Vast majority opposed to the move. We therefore (everyone) target say a couple of games where no-one attends. No-one at all. This then caters for those who will go, as you are only asking them to sacrifice a couple of games. Then can still attend all the other games and caters for the NOPM groups too.
This also then wouldn't be a complete turning of backs against the club, it will merely be a statement and a plea to come back to Coventry.
Everyone more or less would be happy (apart from those who don't give two hoots we're moving). The general feeling seems to be that just about everyone doesn't want us to move and would like us to stay in Coventry.
You therefore here have a statement that we love the club and want to support it, but that the club needs to return to its home.
These games would be identified as No Go Games. A NGG campaign. Identify a couple of games. Further games could then be identified dependent on the success of this and if people are willing.
I think this would unify supporters. Those who will not go and those who will but who are doing so cos they feel they have no other choice.
Two games where no-one attends. You would therefore just get a tiny handful in the ground for these two occasions.
I would urge those who are saying they are going to sacrifice two games of the season to make a statement. The thought of this occurring again for the club would be very worrying and it would receive great press and would show the power us fans (the customers) actually have.
TF knows that the lure of the club and the affinity we have with CCFC is to his advantage and he feels we simply cannot bear to be away for long and this is the ace he feels he has up his sleeve.
Two games where no-one goes. I think this would really make the owners sit up and take notice. We the fans have the power. We need to show we have the power. What we don't have at the moment is unity.
I think this could unite all of us and the ask of those who are going is for just a small sacrifice.
