On balance, I still want this to fall through... (8 Viewers)

Most of what I've learned is through the media or through this website - so most of it is probably utter bollocks. BUT, on balance, I think I'd rather the deal was not accepted by SISU.

Why? Because I do not trust them one bit. If the deal was agreed and SISU had a lower rent and access to more match day revenues, who is to say they will actually use that for the benefit of the football team? They haven't before. Let's not forget that almost every year they have asset stripped the club. So why does anyone think they will act any differently now? Accepting this deal offers no guarantees of support for the football team and that is ultimately what we all want. What it does do, however, is put more money into SISU's pocket.

And even more importantly, in my opinion, is that accepting the deal means that all the cobwebs will be swept under the carpet. It pisses me off that there are people and businesses in this world that screw people over and get away with it because it is too difficult or too expensive to challenge them.

SISU have been using the club to transfer its debts and are now trying to write them off through administration.
SISU are bullying anyone and everyone to try and distress a business in order to acquire the stadium on the cheap.
The Football League have messed up by allowing the golden share and player registrations to be held in separate businesses and are now bowing to SISU's every demand because they are scared of being found out.
The Council and ACL aren't clean either.

Accepting the deal means they ALL get away with it.

I can't pretend to know exactly what will happen if the deal was rejected or if it was accepted. But I'm at the point now where I'd sacrifice a few (more) seasons of obscurity if it meant that the truth finally comes out and that those arseholes that have been playing games with our club get exposed for the crooks they really are.

To be honest, I think the deal will be agreed - but, on balance, I'd prefer if it wasn't.

I've lost all sense of balance these days.

Have not got a clue now which scenario will play out for the best.

We have no idea if anyone is waiting in the wings to snap up the club or whether Sisu will continue to talk of new stadiums or will fund the team to any great extent or whatever.

I don't care anymore about the politics of the mess we find ourselves in. I don't even care any longer about Richardson, Ranson, McGinnity, Fisher, SISU, ACL, CCC or even Michael Doyle (bastard!). All I care about is Coventry City and sitting down in my usual seat with my Dad, my son and the old blokes who surround me. Nothing more.

Let them sort it out between them.

Well then you are an idiot if you would rather we played at Northampton

A bit harsh, but I take your point. I can't see any of the outcomes as helping the actual football team in the short term. I may be wrong but I think we would get back on the road to recovery if we got SISU out faster and rejecting the deal may do that. But hey, that's just my opinion.

Although I have never sided with SISU, I want this to go through because:

1. It would mean games played at the Ricoh, which everyone wants.

2. It would mean we come out of admin quickly, which might give us a chance on the playing side to stay up.

3. It kills off the threat of the Judicial Review, which might help to improve relations between owners and tenant.

4. It might pave the way for the likes of Haskell and maybe Byng to renew their bids for ownership of the club, and thus give SISU an exit strategy.

5. It kills off all this nonsense about a new stadium, which many believe was never going to happen, but was an attempt to put pressure on ACL.

Don't get me wrong. I love a good argument over Richardson. Or I used to. I'm just so jaded and fed up by it all that I just want to see some football. And I really don't want to buy a ST for Leamington, but I will have to if they don't sort it out on Friday.

I wish I could get to that point too, but I'm feeling a bit like Citizen Smith at the moment - down with the corporate bastards!!

First thing first we need to be back at the Ricoh. That happening would put a smile on my face. Ill worry about what happens after, after

I really hope this is a possibility. If the deal does go through then this is what I'll cling on to...

How much money have they made out of the club so far?

No body knows, their accounts are never filed on time and are inaccurate by their own admission. I think the point is that their outgoings will reduce and (by playing at the Ricoh rather than Northampton) their income will increase. I think they will use that to the benefit of SISU rather than the team. I'd love to be proved wrong.

Can someone please tell me how they have 'asset stripped' the club? And please don't use the selling our best players line, we've done that throughout our entire history.

Maybe this is the best short term outcome. Hopefully if this did happen we could we could turn our fortunes around to provide an asset big enought for both SISU to sell and somebody else to buy.

I think we're all sick of the situation. All the majority of Coventry fans want to see is 11 players in Sky Blue kick a bit of leather about for 90 minutes in the City they represent. Not a lot to ask is it?
The rights and wrongs should be put on the back burner for now and we should be standing shoulder to shoulder to make whoever has the aces see sense and make sure Coventry City plays in the City of Coventry. The second that first ball is kicked in Northampton is the second lots of fans will turn their back on CCFC forever and everyone should try their damnedest to make sure that don't happen. Save the anti SISU anti ACL CCC for another day. But don't give up now, if we fail at least you can look your children and grandchildren in the eye in years to come and say you done everything you could.

No deal will be done whilst ACL require SISU to withdraw their request for a judicial review as part of the deal on offer. Why have ACL included that? Because if the council loses ACL will be up for sale. And who would by it if they haven't got a football team to play there!

All through this debacle I have taken a view that whilst the current owners are in place then I wouldn't give the club any money or support and even if we are playing at the Ricoh that applies. Whatever transpires from now on I am out until SISU have gone and it may to too late by then. I am of the opinion too much water has gone under the bridge and too many underhand and shady practices have taken place in our name that I cant condone nor forgive and forget.

I do have some sympathy with the OP's view and even if we are playing at the Ricoh in the coming seasons, then I doubt that there will be too much to cheer about.

Any season ticket money is likely to be gone very quickly - paying off the administrator, legal fees, ACL and, perhaps, having to compensate Northampton. Is there going to be much left to invest in the squad?

Are any of the free agents, which is all that is likely to be available given the timeframe and budget, going to be any better than the bomb squad? Will they be even good enough to keep us in this division let alone push for promotion?

In subsequent seasons, are SISU going to be content to keep the club on life support until such time as ACL buckle or a daft, cash rich buyer appears from the Middle or Far East?

How will SISU ever be driven out? They obviously couldn't give a damn about fans or fans protesting and if they were content to survive on gates of (their) estimated 3,000-5,000 at Sixfields, they will presumably not be upset if numbers at the Ricoh fall that low.

In short, I can see very little future in any outcome that involves SISU's continued ownership of the club whether we are playing at the Ricoh, Sixfields or a fairy tale stadium.
