Press release from the Coventry City Former Players Association
To celebrate the 130th anniversary of the formation of Coventry City Football Club we would like to announce a Grand Charity Football Match at the Ricoh Arena on Sunday 11th August, when a Coventry City Legends team will play a ‘Midlands All Stars XI’.
The team themselves will be announced at a later date, but the Midlands All Stars team will consist of former players of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City, Aston Villa, and other midlands clubs, who are keen to support the charities involved.
Cancer Research UK, Acorns Children’s Hospice, and other local charities will benefit from the game as all profits on the day will be donated to them.
The theme of the day is “Lets all sing together” and promises a fun day with pre-match and halftime entertainment with quite a few surprise guests both on and off the pitch.
Tickets for the game will be available online from
www.theticketfactory.com from 9am on Monday 5th until Wednesday 7th August, and then from the
Ricoh Arena ticket office in the main atrium on:
Thursday 8th August 2pm – 7pm
Friday 9th August 1pm – 7pm
Saturday 10th August 9am – 6pm
Sunday 11th August 10am – 12.30pm
Tickets are priced at £5.00 for adults and £3.00 for children and concessions (booking fees may apply). Kick-off will be at 2.00pm with gates opening at 12.30pm. Car parking can be purchased for £5.00 per vehicle.
Let us unite as a city and make this a day to remember at the Ricoh Arena. To the people of Coventry we would say “lets celebrate together the club’s history, future, and the people of Coventry’s stadium”, and raise as much money as we can to help others through difficult times.
