Think I'll drive up for this, hopefully be able to persuade my Dad to come along who sadly has given up on the club recently supporting them since the early 60s.

I'm going to this now I managed to swop my day off after my extremely nice boss said I could, and my co-worker agreed to do Sunday instead of Saturday. I can't name them on here but thank you both for letting me do this, the ability to stick two fingers up at SISU, benefit a charity and watch some good football is going to be great. Roll on Sunday.

Billy bell announced it on CWR at the weekend

I meant the commercial ones really, Capital, Free etc. Get it in Brum stations and we might get a better turnout.

Sky Blues wristbands are to be sold to raise awareness of the Keep Coventry in Coventry campaign.

The wristbands have been launched by supporters organisation the Sky Blue Trust as part of the latest drive to raise awareness of supporters opposition to Coventry City playing their “home” fixtures 35 miles away in Northampton.

The wristbands will be sold for £1 at the scheduled Coventry City legends match at the Ricoh Arena this Sunday with some of the profits donated to charities.

Former Coventry City legends including Noel Whelan and Darren Huckerby will line-up against a Midlands XI team when the match kicks off at 2pm.

Coventry City Former Players Association (CCFPA) has organised the match which will take place at the same time Coventry City line up for their first “home” match at Northampton’s Sixfields stadium.

More players for the charity match will be announced in the coming days with former Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion players set to line up against the Coventry City legends in a Midlands XI.

Tickets are available from the ticket office in the main atrium of the Ricoh Arena or at www.theticketfactory.com.

Press release from the Coventry City Former Players Association

To celebrate the 130th anniversary of the formation of Coventry City Football Club we would like to announce a Grand Charity Football Match at the Ricoh Arena on Sunday 11th August, when a Coventry City Legends team will play a ‘Midlands All Stars XI’.

The team themselves will be announced at a later date, but the Midlands All Stars team will consist of former players of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City, Aston Villa, and other midlands clubs, who are keen to support the charities involved.

Cancer Research UK, Acorns Children’s Hospice, and other local charities will benefit from the game as all profits on the day will be donated to them.

The theme of the day is “Lets all sing together” and promises a fun day with pre-match and halftime entertainment with quite a few surprise guests both on and off the pitch.

Tickets for the game will be available online from www.theticketfactory.com from 9am on Monday 5th until Wednesday 7th August, and then from the Ricoh Arena ticket office in the main atrium on:
Thursday 8th August 2pm – 7pm
Friday 9th August 1pm – 7pm
Saturday 10th August 9am – 6pm
Sunday 11th August 10am – 12.30pm

Tickets are priced at £5.00 for adults and £3.00 for children and concessions (booking fees may apply). Kick-off will be at 2.00pm with gates opening at 12.30pm. Car parking can be purchased for £5.00 per vehicle.

Let us unite as a city and make this a day to remember at the Ricoh Arena. To the people of Coventry we would say “lets celebrate together the club’s history, future, and the people of Coventry’s stadium”, and raise as much money as we can to help others through difficult times.

Great statement! Wonder how sky will report it and whether it will make any difference? More and more I feel we will have to start again and do an afc Wimbledon

The media were caught out by the size of the march to Broadgate & under reported it.

They won't want to miss this event. In any case the crowd will exceed the numbers at Sixfields by a considerable margin.
