If the club wish to wind up Ann Lucas then...

Should never have signed the bloke, just another sign of the moral degradation of SISU.
More so than not paying an inflated rent.
What's he going to hit people with if he hasn't got a club?
I think at the time, selfishly enough, I was glad we signed a decent strike and "big" name. I thought that it might be the start of us picking up again. I was gutted and hated him for leaving after we gave him his second chance.
I know he was a c**t, but he was our c**t.
I'd rather he'd been somebody else's c**t rather than ours.
People who beat up women should never be afforded hero status, and unfortunately we had far too many who lauded that
Thing is its one of those "where do you draw your line?" Dilemmas for me.
People are happy to buy records & pay to watch bands that sing about beating women up..&/or taking drugs...&/or doing gansta type stuff. thats what he's done innit??? So general society it's like acceptable to be notorious....but not for a footballer?
Lots of conflict between football & real life aren't there?
I'd rather he'd been somebody else's c**t rather than ours.

Fiction isn't the same as reality.
Taken the wrong step with your allegory there.
Chris Brown/Rhianna, Bobby Brown/Whitney Huston, Amy Winehouse, Ozzy Osborne, John Bonham...I think that covers enough much-famed celebrities over enough generations - reality enough?

Marlon is a convicted women beater, that means he did it and there was enough evidence to prove this and convict him. to my knowledge he never shown any remorse and still protested his innocence eventually dropping his appeal (shitsu take note).
that's a big differance
What the fuck has that got to do with people cheering a woman beater at the club?
Can't stand anybody who does, whatever their job.
i think what lordsummerisle is trying to say that the music you are talking about in the vast majority of cases is social commentary rather than promotion of a life style. for example: white lines by grandmaster it not saying take cocaine its saying DONT take cocaine, cop killer by body count (not ice t as is often stated) is about the anger that was felt by black americans after Rodney King was beaten to a pulp by 2 LA cops who didn't realise that they were being filmed, this event also was the catalyst for the LA riots where Mr King made a public plea for the riots to stop asking "why cant we just get on"

If messi was a woman beater im sure none of you would complain if he joined Coventry.
I think the basis of his "appeal" was that it was somebody else wearing the same hat who did it!
The actual music or songs is irrelevant

then why bring it up in the 1st place?
Why would this be any different to why the signing of MK was opposed ?
Well, perhaps the mere topic in some minds is enough for many to consider it promoting the actual act by association. The same doesn't seem to work with literature/art in the form of pictures though - Stephen King isn't accused of promoting murder & mayhem in books, nor are artists in their paintings.
