Jesus Christ, going to watch the game for free and dressing it up as some half arsed protest. What an absolute joke. It's shit like this that makes me think fuck it why don't I just go and watch a game.

It's a wind up. You can only see half the pitch.

I dont think that those that go and stand on the hill really go on that basis covmark I'm sure to a man/woman or child they'd sooner be in Coventry...

I need help what are your views I fully support nopm but I really miss going to watch the footy and am starting to be tempted especially with the style we are playing now

Why would someone ask this forum on this subject ?
85 % of fans here will say don't go and 15 % will say go.
So the answer is don't go. Sorted.

However 3% will say go on the hill.
10% will be there for Sheffield United.
0.1% are dickheads but you now know who they are.

I have no doubt that everyone would rather be watching the team in Coventry. Just find it a bit galling that people who slate fans for going to watch the game are themselves watching the game for free whilst pretending it's some heroic act of protest.

A lot of us find it a bit galling that people slate the ones that are protesting in some way whilst not protesting in any way or not even having any ideas on any protests. Then they have a go at ACL/CCC whilst never having a go at SISU although they say they are anti SISU.

I'm doing something. I'm not going after 40 years. Others choose to go and not pay. They are not protestors -they just want their cake and eat it.

I do take your point- but really think that the primary motive is the protest- I guess you might ask if the hill wasnt there, or the stands were closed in such that they prohibited view how many might go? But I have to believe that they are there for the protest and benefit of the long term future of CCFC. I haven't been yet-and I kind of feel guilty about that, but if I(we) went it would be for the sake of the protest not to stand and watch the football.

Im not attending games home or away, that's my protest. Standing on fraggle rock and watching the game is not a protest IMO. I'm anti everyone :)

You are not going so you are not doing something :D

I don't call watching from a hill which is open to the elements and where you will hardly be able to see the ball as watching the game as much as you make out. They would all prefer to pay to go in......but not in Northampton.

So if the 9,000 not going are not protesting are you saying only 50 - 100 people are against the move?

fair play to you but I think you'd be in a minority. Like you say if there was no way of watching the game there would be hardly anyone protesting.

In your opinion

In your opinion Andy thorn was the best manager we've had for years so it isn't really worth much.

It's very obvious to anyone with half a brain seppella will never move the club back accept on her terms.

No G thats not a fair comparison is it- but there were 5-7000 who protested through Coventry city centre- I think your analogy with regard to the hill situation is skewed given the 35 miles and circumstance?

But there are not 9,000 Of our fans having a go at the ones that are protesting. So what is your point?

It's your team. Unlike some want to believe they are Coventry City even if they are temporarily playing at Sixfield's.
Protest that are taking place will have zero effect and are biased against the football club's owners and seemingly forgetful of ACL and the councils part in all this.
If you are missing it then go. Whoever owns us the fact does not change it is your team. Hate SISU all you like and protest inside and be seen to be protesting but watch your mighty Sky Blues and these young talented players like Wilson. It should be all about football and not the politics. These same protesters staying away will be up the Ricoh in a shot if a game was held there and yet we would still have the same owners. Just accept we will be back in Coventry one way or another so why miss them now?

Hello Pax- how do you know we will be back in Coventry one way or another?

The point is if they couldn't see the big green pitch from the hill they would not be there.

The point is they are hypocrites.

Bloody hell Paxo. Have you stolen someones brain or took a massive bang to the head?

Yes, this is what we mean by NOPM until our club returns to Coventry

So are you saying they should protest in a place they can't be seen then?

King Power it's just how I see it. having the opposite view that we will never return is surely more absurd?
If they build a stadium all well and good but I'm not convinced of that. A return to the stadium lying empty is still the most likely. How it is achieved and the deal to do it is any bodies guess but staying away at Northampton or anywhere else clearly is not an option. NOPM is having little or no affect. The protest should be aimed squarely at all the sides in this dispute not just SISU and your own football team.

Or they could wear blindfolds.

That might get the attention of the media. And it would actually be some kind of protest rather than a cheapskate's day out.

Get your blindfolds out lads, it's for the greater cause.

Pax-I might share that view had Joy not stated the opposite, along with her inability to work with Coventry City Council... had she not reinforced these points in the interview my glass might have been the optimistic side of half full... but she stated it very very clearly. I fear we are futher away from reconcilliation than ever before.

Like you Pax I also find it absurd that a 32000 seater stadium lies dormant.. its bloody crazy. Unlike you though Pax, whilst ACL do have a case to answer in certain aspects- in my opinion the lions share of the "blame" lies with SISU. For all sorts of reasons stated many many times over and so as much as it pains me given sadly that SISU and CCFC are not mutually exclusive I just cannot go to sixfields, principles are costing me and my son our CCFC addiction and "quality time" together, but to do so would just reinforce the decision that SISU took to take my(our) football team from us. It is wrong and is not justifiable in such circumstances.

You should go to be fair, you wouldn't even be considering it if you didn't want to.

Then if you don't like it or it doesn't feel right then you don't go again or if you love it you will go.again.

If you want to go then you should...im going with the kids tomorrow for the first time, nothing to be proud off or ashamed off just want to take my kids and watch hopefully a good game of football and 3 points at the end of it...I don't think I can influence what happens off the pitch,do what you thinks right.you don't have to justify it to anyone.

Sorry, I cannot see how you can purely judge it on a level as simple as whether you enjoy it or not; without factoring in the morality or politics. Impossible

Me, presumably. As Grendel said, we are doing something by not going for 41 years. And I have a go at both sides and have done on many, many occasions.
