SISU's complete failure would be sweet but actually I'd take just for them to accept that this investment inspired by Mr Ranson has been a disaster and the prognosis for the next few years is continued losses so it's time to cut those losses and sell to a consortium who could do business with ACL/CCC and reunite CCFC with the City of Coventry. Is that too much to hope for??
The present situation is totally unacceptable to almost all of our fanbase, even those who have visited Sixfields. There are no winners at all at present, SISU, ACL, local Coventry business' and the supporters are all out of pocket !

I don't think one person would disagree with what you say there. However, at the moment there is no choice so wanting SISU to fail is not going to help Coventry City Football Club. The only thing all of us are concerned about.

Good news, another step in the right direction. Combine this with the Academy returning to the Higgs Centre and I think we can safely put the hysterical suggestion of relocating the Club to Northampton to bed.
i really hope for your sanity that your having a laugh !

There is only 'no choice' because aunty Joyless keeps insisting that the club is not up for sale, somehow she still must think that all the other parties will crumble before they do?! As I've said before it's now a war of attrition and the judicial review appeal will hopefully be the first battle won ! In the meantime I still think that it is vital that the 90% of Sky Blues remain staunch in their rejection of the hedge fund !

Glad there is going to be a shop so I can buy my away tickets instead of waiting ages for someone to pick up the phone. I never buy anything from the club shop apart from tickets anyway.

I can't fathom the logic of some people.

Close the original outlet and move to Tesco Stall- hysteria.
Open a new, more professional looking Store with preferable overheads, closer to the City Centre - further hysteria.

People actually want the club to fail. SISU or not, that is shocking.

Edgy,

What a great post I couldnt have put it better myself.

Some people on here like nothing more than to moan about everything. Shut the club shop, moan, have a barrow at Tesco, more moans, open a brand new store at an accessible location in Coventry even more moaning.

It makes me laugh as these same people would have a meltdown if the shop was in Northampton.

I want the Club back in the City, I despise SISU, closely followed by ACL, and wish for new owners....but will not moan moan moan on here like others when the club actually try to do something, albeit a very small gesture, right. Get a grip.

On a personal note, I have no intention of entering the shop, for me its the Ricoh or nowhere and lets face it fans who live on the other side of the City will rarely venture over. I very rarely shop in Gallagher anyway and that isnt going to change in the near future. I mainly used the shop for my lads merchandise as they always wanted this and that but unfortunately they have lost all interest already, they ask if we have won or lost, thats about it.

What this does suggest however is that they are serious on building a new ground. Why lease a new shop and pay for a fit-out etc if they were going to move back to the Ricoh in the near future.

It is a move in the right direction in all honesty. Personally I am not going to use it though.

its a cheap PR stunt at best and no proof of their intent to build a new ground. that would be talking to the local authorities to identify a site, appointing an architect. you know that sort of thing, the things you have to actually do.

"The lease on the 5,000 sq ft unit has now been agreed" - so now owning our own buildings isn't important?

I give it a week before it's vandalised.

I'm totally disalousioned by the threads that continually appear on this site.

By wanting SISU to fail you are all accelerating the demise of Coventry City Football Club IMHO!

I don't support any of the parties, just 'my club' the Sky Blues and I'll continue to support them and the new shop.

Protests and politics I'm not interested in but I'll warn everyone that if this club fails it'll be down the moaners and groaners who want only one outcome, the departure of our owners and it isn't going to happen anytime soon.

They'll go when they're good and ready and are able to get a return on their investment (I'm sure the detractors who post negative threads on here, would'nt work for nothing?????????).

PUSB!

I really hope your right but with OTIUM/SISU anything seems possible:mad:

Who would vandalise the shop of the team they support? Apart from you.

What crap, if the club fails it will be down to SISU/OTIUM/ACL/COUNCIL/FISHER/JOY/LUCAS/ do I need to go on but to balame the fans is just shocking.

Interesting that someone's only positive thought is to vandalise the new shop!

I think that just about says it all, you don't deserve a club or a team to support.

The fans to blame are those who don't support the club, wages and costs have to be met, the money doesn't go to the owners!

Stop playing the 'blame game' and get behind the team. PUSB!

hey your the one who said it's "positive", the original poster just pointed out that there is every possibilty it will be vandelised within a week. given the strength of feeling and the weight of emotion that some fans are carrying i would say thats a safe assumption, not a positive one.

RFC you are spouting nonsense. NONE of the Sky Blues supporters are to blame for this mess. SISU created the whole thing and for you to suggest that the fans who's refuse to condone thier actions are at fault is an absolute disgrace.

We all support the bloody club so hang on then, I forgot, come on everybody, lets just kiss and make-up and sell out Sixfields week after week, why are we all moaning for, its only the first time in CCFC history that an owner has taken our club out of the city and out of its county for that matter, why are we angry that we cannot walk to our local ground, drink in the local pubs before hand, visit the club shop, enter the casino, watch the team in a top class stadium, remember the good old days, it wasnt just about the 90 mins, it was about the whole day.

RFC, we have a right to protest and moan and majority of people will stop if the club moves back to Coventry, some will continue to boycott because of the above but do not blame the fans for clubs failure.

cheer up a bit, things are improving its taken 6 pages on this thread before people are at each others throats

I'm totally disalousioned by the threads that continually appear on this site.

The wheel barrow in tesco was humiliating.
Whether this store has a future we can only wait to see but maybe a bit of a test for the NOPM.
If this new ground in South Coventry appears a central, easy access store is vital & the location is ideal

I have gone through all six pages of this thread and two things appeared to me;

1) Good news we will actually have a Club shop in which people buy tickets, merchandise and can genuine relate to, which is good and a step in the right direction.
2) There are a lot of strange people on this froum, you're all moaning that the club has found a viable shop for its customers and it's business, but the highlight is that this shop is in Coventry!!

What I read into this is that if SISU were going for the Ricoh they'd surely wait and then just move back into the club shop there, yet they found an alternative, a sign perhaps??

What Club? You mean Northcovhampton Athletic. NOPM stay strong the 90%

100YRS PLUS HISTORY IS AT STAKE HERE!

I do not care that the incompetent owners have found a cheap deal to knock out their overpriced tat, Sky Blue babygrows & the worse shirt I have even seen since Talbot were still about, to line their grubby pockets.

Do not forget that SISU are 99% to blame for the mess were are in.

It is a step in the right direction though a very small step, without fixing the much more important issues though it's nearly irrelevant anyone who isn't giving sisu a penny more doesn't have a great need for a shop either. When the more important issue gets sorted (ie getting us back in Coventry) we are probably going to want the shop at the stadium and not be tied to a lease elsewhere.

The club has lost it's arms and one leg, you can't expect people to jump for joy because the graze on the other knee is healing. Especially since even when we are getting something better like the better shop they mishandle it by closing the barrow a couple of weeks before.

i think it shows how low this club has been taken, that something that any" normal ran club" has ,a shop is news worthy !

You are joking aren't you ???

The difference in commitment in leasing a two bit shop or building a 30 million pound stadium is immense !!!
It is still part of the bluff a cheap circus trick !!!!
Joy and Tim will be sitting down to work out the next step of the illusion that they are going to build a new stadium !!!!!
