No Hill on Sunday, I have been told Police will not allow it this Sunday!!!. Apparently this happens on certain games when Northampton are playing at sixfields....

stgeorge. Can you advise who was it stated that there will be a ban on the hill on Sunday and what authority they have. You may well be correct, but as preventing people gathering would be a violation of civil liberties the authorities have to make a case for restrictions and then make public why. Sounds too Orwellian but may well be true.

Personally I think a trick has been missed here. If there hadn't been such a split created between those going to sixfields and those not, perhaps we all could have come together for the one game which is broadcasted on TV and boycotted it.

It would also show that even those who choose to go agree that they'd rather be in coventry.

But unfortunately the abuse, which has gone both ways, has probably scuppered the chance of this ever happening.

Ignore the posts about the hill being blocked off. It is a nasty miserable ploy by obvious candidates on here to put people off going.
It looks like there will be a much bigger turnout on the hill for this televised game.
Inside it will be desolate as usual.

Honestly, it would be so hard for them to block it off.

Totally agree about not upsetting the kids,but turning it on its head my kids want to go to home games as well as away ones.
The boycott is all part of trying to kcic for these future generations.

Northampton and West Midlands police are well aware of what is happening on the Hill Sunday.

I have my own protest , I wear civic colours every home and away games , I haven't called anyone a wanker or scab but I am getting a message across each week , I had 10 people ask me what the scarf was all about this week , and I intend to try and pass Tim fisher a scarf before the next home game I attend at kick off , don't brand me lazy , I for one would not go sunday just to stand at ricoh with a bring me home banner

I'd love to join, however my daughter is mascot for the day. It's our first match this season. We've missed going so much! I wondered how I'd feel about it bit I'm actually looking forward to it. I'd like to ask, while I'm here that anyone protesting, amongst the anger, remember my daughter and the other children that will be there. They only want to see Sam and their heroes playing the sport they love! Send the message but don't ruin their experience. They're at the age we all were when we fell in love with the game and the sky blues.

Except when I did, we finished 6th in Division 1 with packed crowds playing superb football in the best kit we've ever had and performing in our home City !! Oh for 77-78 again !

Getting media attention is the starting point , Sky isn't their to be a platform for our troubles , local media were all over the walk , but it didn't even dent anywhere else , who can't we get a walk at ALL AWAY GAMES ! We organise football matches with every away team before the game , can't we get something like this going and bring in the other fans too ! I know from what we've heard that no one likes what has become of ccfc , what real football fan does?

We all have our own opinion on how we should protest and most of us respect that. Most City fans believe that the most effective action is to starve the owners of income, that's just another opinion.

Do not think that one man giving abuse is reflective of the majority or the people on the Hill. To do so is to be as small minded as he is.


As for the bloke on here telling us that the Hill is to be closed off by the Police, he is either a wum or SISU imposter. I am expecting the usual cries of 'paranoia' for accusing him of the latter but I really would not be surprised, nor would I be surprised if any scuffles between the Hillers and fans inside the ground had been planned. These are very clever and underhanded people that run our club.

There is no doubt that the vast majority are simply boycotting - myself included.

What I was responding to was the professed inability to understand why some of the people who disagreed with the move of the club to Northampton would go to Northampton (i.e. where the club has been moved to, where it is now playing its matches) to protest.

Bluntly if this is beyond anyone's comprehension......... - well, it's really not that complicated.

PS: Whilst I don't believe it, it is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility that the police decide to block access to the hill based on fans internet activity suggesting missles & fireworks being launched from there.....just saying....

I for one feel better going onj the hill and tieing ribbons around the City that is my choice, you feel sitting at home will suffice that is your choice, others feel that packing out the Ground will work that is there choice.

To many people slag off any thing that is mentioned even the march was slagged off when it was being organised.

Shame really people should be allowed to do what they feel is right without all this constant abuse and being called unprofessional and the likes (after all most of us aren't professionals or even want to be).
