Would you have to take the manager and his backroom staffs wages out of the 600k?

I'm not certain, but to be honest it doesn't really matter.

£11.5k per week for all senior players is not sustainable to stay in league 1. It would be difficult to stay in league 2 with those sort of figures.

That great big stupid fucking NOPM logo says it all about him

So what is SISUs plan? Or are you blindly following them? Surely you have had opportunity to ask TF what the next step is?
I suspect you have no idea ? How can you keep slagging NOPM yet you are clueless where SISU are taking us?

With every twist and turn known to man; turnover will be lower than £2m. So, the wage cap could sit at £1.2m even at this lofty assumption. Across 20 professionals, that's £60K per man, maximum.

As stated, in the Championship, things are different, as the wage cap can be pegged to losses.

The gates' turnover being made worse, of course - if that's at all possible - by the fact that other sponsors, such as City Link (who paid the biggest ever shirt sponsorship deal when it signed the 3-year agreement in 2010), or the Coventry Building Society pulled the can on continued association with the club; the latter party clearly stating 'due to the situation at the club, we are unable to proceed with a new contract at this time' - no longer financially support the club either. So, no sponsorship turnover to fall back on either.

Still, I guess that's because City Link and the Coventry Building Society just 'love' watching the football team lose too....

TF said they would make up the shortfall, surely you believe him?

True...but this assumes that no other investment comes in to the club......the sort that is allowed under the FFP/SCMP rules.....

...basically sisu/otium or anyone else can donate/gift/invest capital.....they just can't build debt against it.....so the figures above, whilst terrible & unsustainable.....are not necessarily anywhere near the truth of the available wage budget for next season.

Yes they said they will make up any shortfall ,but based on what ?
The £3-4M. loss from not playing @ the RICOH or Or Circa £1.5M. to maintain the cost of the current operation?
It should'nt need to be achieved through squad sales either as Greg Clark said he's seen the Books and there are pots of money.

All im expecting is a few more million "losses" and another administration. Can't see them putting anymore money in unless they get the Ricoh.

I'm not saying sisu are going to put their hand in their pocket.....I'm just saying they are allowed to if they so desire....

...These FFP & SCMP rules are about as water tight as our current back 4 anyway.....

Personally, I reckon it was just a cunning ploy by FIFA to keep Platini & UEFA busy with paperwork while Blatter et al "sold" the world cup down the river.....to Russia (not corrupt at all honest guv) & Qata (the natural home for footy obviously)

I almost want to be put out my misery. I feel we have nothing now. No stadium, No fans, No money and now No team.
Pressley and the youngsters have done their best but are luck is over, teams have sussed our limited ability, we can't change anything and the show is over.

It also assumes the football league will apply the rules strictly to us which given the exceptional situation that the league accept is out of the clubs control is highly unlikely. They already have allowed signings in an embargo and will continue to do so. This is irrelevant spin, MMM and co know it won't impact the club at all.

You fool. The rules are there are will be applied. Maybe if we finish in the bottom three we won't be relegated either?

Oooh...you're a bundle of fun aren't you?

No fans? WTF? No team WTF?

We have a fine young side.....they were bound to get humped sooner or later.....but we are still one of the top sides in the division....

.....and as for no fans....I know its been understated & modest, but I think a few might be travelling to watch this fine young side on Saturday....

Cheer up....Its Coventry City FC.....you know it could be worse!!

I've been with city for nearly 50 years and this is not yet the bottom.

Stop concentrating on attendances it is only a small part of the big picture - pie money is the real statistic that we need, how many pies are being eaten as surely we get a cut of that also at sexyfields !!!

The rules aren't being applied now. We can sign players in a transfer embargo and please remind us the penalty for breaching said rules?

...At the end of the day, its only football.....and football is weird as fuck....just when you think you know whats going to happen next.....everything changes.....

.....when LFC picked up their 18th league title in 1990....their 7th in a decade....was there anyone in the world who said "right, that's their lot....they'll not win that again".....

In 5 years from now, we may well be non-league, we may well be extinct.....but equally, we may also be back in the premier league or in another FA Cup final.....

....its a funny old game....

You honestly think we'll be able to run without consequence in the face of this key UEFA initiative?

You know what I've posted is wholly and entirely correct, and your only riposte is the hope that the laws won't be applied in our direction as diligently as UEFA will ensure they are administered elsewhere? Hell's teeth; remind me never to ask you for help on a risk assessment.....

As for where we are now; it's a 'rolling embargo', isn't it, with caps still applied by the football league?

No stadium? We haven't had one since we sold Highfield Road.
No fans? You're joking aren't you? Speak for yourself. I'm still a fan and I'd wager 99% of posters are still fans.
No money? Since when have CCFC had any money? How many years have we been in debt?
No team? We have possibly the most exciting young team we've had since the 70's. Considering the dire circumstances they're having to endure, I think they deserve a lot more credit than you've just given them.

Statistically this is the worst team since 1963.

Okay, no stadium we belong too. I don't care if we rent it.
No team. We have some good players but we don't have the finances to support a team that can compete for a season.

We could be back at the Ricoh by xmas paying a peppercorn rent and generating enough income to give us a team with depth.
Yet our owners choose to make it impossible for team, fans and finances.
There comes a point when you need say no more, go away and we will rebuild from the bottom.

The club is in a mess from top to bottom, we are not even united as supporters on this forum even before I mention gmk, the trust, NOPM etc.
We have been sussed out yes but we still have a team. They have a lot of promise but should not be playing as regularly as they are with the pressure they are under but are having to.
Things could be worse though, take a look at Portsmouth 5 points off league 2 relegation spot.

Thing is now maybe now this ridiculous talk of promotion will stop and we can concentrate on staying in this league.
The superb start to the season means we have points in the bag, not on a poor run whilst being in the bottom 4 and watching safety drift away

I would love to be in the situation Pompey are right now. At least they have a future.

What we looking at then figure wise? Club turnover can't be anymore than £1m this season. So only £600k for players wages, over the course of a season that works out at about £500 per week per player (based on a squad of 22)!

I know youth players don't count, so in reality it will be nearer £1k a week for seniors, but it still highlights the situation the club is facing.

The club can solve it by a move back to the ricoh

We'll find out where we stand at the end of the season, up to then I think we are in a better position.
They have fallen further and faster than us, sit 5 points off league 2 relegation and just sack their manager.

As has been pointed before out the words 'Board' & 'Discretion' feature in the football league rules many times. As far as I can see this means they can do what they like if they choose to do so.

Whilst that is true; there is no way the FA will allow clubs at this level to openly flaunt FFP without consequence. To state or pretend they shall is simply preposterous; and a folly only desperately peddled by those who know there is no logic to support the stance they are struggling to sustain

Whilst I don't rate their chances in the Judicial Review Application hearing tomorrow, I'd bet that SISU would find a way round the FPP. They can just issue more shares to themselves can't they to put more money in or something like that can't they?
