Absolutely wankers. They couldn't give a flying fuck about the Club. Yes, you stand by and let SISU continue raping our club. Hang your heads.

I make of that that the Football League would also not act as a broker for a deal between ACL and CCFC. Hence an offer made 'through the FL' would probably fall at the first hurdle.

I don't disagree. I think the FL are a bit of a red herring.

What can / will they do about the situation we're in now?

i'm off the opinion myself that we are no longer in a position that we are homeless as the latest rent offer is better than the sixfields arrangement. so the FL no longer have cause to approve the ground share.

I think that they had the power to intervene back in the summer - however, having given SISU permission to play at Sixfields I think that they've emasculated themselves.

You can just imagine it - they try to put pressure on SISU, SISU say "you gave us permission and if you try to go back on it we'll take legal action against you".

Actually I'm not surprised the didn't given the fact that SISU are currently in a court battle with the council. Whilst SISU would be ill-advised to sue the football league - never say never, and that's probably what the FL are trying to avoid.

Indeed. In fact all sides would be guilty of going back on pledges they've made:

ACL: Best and final offer of £400k p/a rent

SISU: Not to come back as tenants

FL: CCFC have permission to play in Northampton due to you being homeless

They have said they'd mediate...but I think that requires both parties to want mediation & to want the FL as the mediator. If either party has anything like the same opinion of the FL as any "...real fans" do - there's no way they'd be considered for the role.
I think the reply gained is fair enough really - they're being a bit more definitive. I read into this that they're now admitting they're powerless off the pitch. Their task is to put fixtures out there for registered clubs, & do whatever they can to get the relevant clubs to fulfil them...which might be where their "Real football for real fans" thing comes in. They'll do the equivalent of a Mickey Quinn with his granny in the penalty box to ensure fixtures happen & bugger the consequences!

To be fair, they would be daft to comment on this!!!

Yeah that's true.

Important to be fair to them after the way they've been fair to us.

I think that "pledges" is a bit strong.

I think that most people would accept that statements made during negotiations have to be "taken with a pinch of salt".

The question is whether both sides are prepared to do a "reasonable" deal, in which case it will probably happen - or whether one or both sides wants "everything" on their terms, in which case it probably won't.

Yes, pledge isn't the right word, I thought that after I'd posted it. Publicly made statements it should have said.

I remember SISU saying if they weren't awarded the share they would contest it legally.
I also remember the FL saying Coventry fans don't realise how close it was to them not being in the league.

It all seems, yes weakness by the FL but also typical strong arm tactics by SISU behind the scenes.

FL said we have been shown funds and I commented at the time how much was that funds to run the club vs funds to take legal action if you don't support us?

Haven't the football league said that they'd be willing to mediate in the dispute?

Even they realise that they can't help.
When one side offers it for free and the other side turns it down there is nowhere else to go.

Unless ACL should pay SISU to play at the Ricoh !!!!!

Move on ACL and put an end to this madness. We need to cut CCFC loose and start again.

Correct. ACL have forced the truth out and SISU were knocking on CWR door in there pyjamas.
Shame he wasn't briefed on the stadium.

If they won't come for nothing they never will.
Why persist with the ransom when they are going to kill the hostage.

Be interested to here from the Sixfields few how they feel about being 35 miles away when they don't need to be.

Grendel, were you still in your PJ's when your lying thread headline was hastily written?

No, I've realised that we are wasting our time and SISU are taking the mickey. Good luck.

At least you have admitted you are an ACL plant I admire your honesty if nothing else.

A good try tony176, and not surprised at the response from the FL.

It's a pity the FL aren't subject to the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I agree with Italiahorse.

Time ACL and Ricoh went there own way and I wish them all the luck in the world. At least the people of Coventry who have paid there hard earned tax would be grateful that the CCC have not squandered the cities assets for pittance.

Don't care if it is CCFC or not ... Everything that has been going on has never been about football for SISU but greed by a hedge fund who are just here at any cost to rape the city of one of the assets which they paid for.

Why don't people get this??
