If we are going to be away for 5 + years (and with the pace things are moving 5 years seems optimistic) I can't see myself having any interest in ccfc by the time we come back. I'm already at the point where my only connection with the club is a quick check of the score on the bbc website and sometimes I even forget to do that.

This site keeps me connected more than anything but if we start next season in Northampton and nothing shows signs of changing I doubt I'll continue to read and post.

Hate to say it but if Sisu/Otium continue down this ludicrous path then it will be a lot longer than 5 years. Need to find a suitable site, agree a price (we know how Sisu like to make an offer), aqquire said land, get plans drawn up for outline planning, sweet talk any local residents that tell them to fuck off (unless they are planning it in the Gobi desert), continue to try and sweet talk local residents, outline planning refused, Sisu/Otium appeal (they do love an appeal), get outline planning, change the plans to suit what they want, go for planning, speak to local council about infrastructure, more defiance by local residents, planning refused, another appeal by Sisu/Otium, how many years down the line would this be without concrete in the ground. They are a world of fucking dreamers, the lot of them and anybody who is sucked in by this needs their head looking at. I live up by Brown's Lane and Peugeot tried to build a 24 hour distribution center there. The land had already been used as commercial and I'm sure it still took over 3 years for outline planning before it was finally beaten by the local residents, and that was a huge organisation like Peugeot, do you think that small time Sisu/Otium will be able to carry the same clout as them. No area, village or small town is going to want a new football ground with all that comes with on their doorstep. so the outskirts or just further is never going to happen in my opinion.

If it was ever outside the boundaries I don't think I'd support it.

This ^ Sticking with it this season in the hope that we return to the Ricoh but if we start a second season in Northampton then its game over as far as I am concerned. The longer they stay away the less they can claim to be Coventry City. I might come back to it if we get new owners and they start all over again, playing home games inside the city boundary but that appears a very big IF currently.

I think the Ricoh is one of the best I've seen.....that is not political point scoring I really do think that. Any large stadium lacks atmosphere half full...surely the idea is to fill it.

Can you imagine us back in Premier league in the top half just outside the top six? I think it would be almost full every week and have a fantastic atmosphere.

Coventry fans have been on a long long road of underachievement! The fan base is there and they can stand there ground against anyone.

I'd like to see a stadium with standing terraces behind both goals.....I'd like to be able to smoke on those terraces.....and buy & drink beer throughout the game.....I'd also like to decide to go on the day & pay on the gate....

....I'd then like to exit the stadium after yet another convincing win into an area within the city, full of pubs, bars & pie shops.....

Well, as the subject of the thread is complete make-believe, I'd thought I'd join in....

That's not an option. Look at Rotherham ground and start at 12000.

Maybe Following NW's logic and giving permission for building It in the City is'nt a bad one .

I love the Idea of a Two team City and the rivalry It would generate,.

Maybe the Newbe's could ask to play there once a Fortnight ,so long as there was no rent or Matchday charges.

Sky Blues fan appointed as head of the CCFC Stadium Forum which will consult on new stadium designA leading business figure and lifelong Coventry City supporter will head up a new group that will help the club make its new stadium a home for fans.

Sandra Garlick, who owns De Marco Solicitors, will chair the CCFC Stadium Forum which will provide input to the club on what supporters want from a new ground.

To date, the technical requirements have been developed and agreed with the stadium architects and now the club wants to collate supporters’ requirements to ensure that the club’s tradition and history is imprinted on the new stadium.

The supporters body is being put together and will see a mix of fans provide their thoughts on the look and feel of the new stadium and what they feel it should offer.

Garlick, who is a trustee of Sky Blues in the Community and a committee member of the Coventry City Former Players Association, has been running De Marco Solicitors since 2007.

She said she would gather views of a range of fans to provide feedback to the club’s board and owner.

Garlick said: “The purpose of the Stadium Forum is to provide a voice for fans when it comes to the creation of the new ground.

“Having met with members of the Coventry City Football Club board and the owner, I have seen both their enthusiasm and determination to create a new stadium that brings a range of commercial benefits to the club.

“The board and the owner want the fans to be at the heart of the whole process.

“The benefits to owning a new stadium are not just financial but will also allow the club to offer an even greater community provision to supporters – something which is very close to my heart as a trustee of Sky Blues in the Community. That can mean anything from health and education to social enterprise.

“As a supporter, it has been very difficult to see the club playing outside the region and the new stadium plans are vital in getting Coventry City back in the Coventry area.

“I am also here in a very neutral capacity and have experience in listening to different views and condensing them down into workable recommendations.

“I very much look forward to working with fellow supporters on this project for the lasting benefit of the club, its fans and the community

I like how this has been carefully worded to say 'region' instead of Coventry. Whoever the hell this is anyway.

We'd all like that, although they're starting to take this bluff a bit to far if it is indeed a bluff?

As much as I'd like to think this is all bullshit, the move away from Coventry was a bluff before it happened. And it did happen.

The above is a post I said earlier, this is why I think they can take this bluff around the wrekin and back for all I care. This time frame they talk about is bollocks because no-one knows what oppostion they will encounter on the way. Local residents are the voting public and if we can bring a change in government, how easy would it be to stop a football ground being built. In all honesty, do you really believe people would want Legoland in their back garden ? How many supporters do you think we will have anyway by the time they start the mythical ground works. It is easy to set up these kind of groups, doesn't mean diddly squat to me.
