I think you're dead right about an away game being unsuitable for a 4 yr old..

I didn't take my 3 Grandkids until they were 7. Personally they don't seem interested before that.

In fact they are 9, 12 and 13 now and moved on to horses and model car racing this year. Competing on Sundays.

I desperately want to see the City play. My daughter would absolutely love to go to, but we won't set foot in Sixfields.

The Sky Blues have been the love of my life for all my life, but I cannot bring myself to go and if the club stay away from Coventry for any length of time then they will have lost a loyal fan.

I still maintain that if no-one at all went then something would have to give on our owner's front and the club would come home back to the Ricoh.

At the end of the day the club IS the fans and without fans there is no club!

Spot on and situation summed up in 4 short paragraphs. Nothing more to be discussed.

I wasn't referring to those who have chosen not to attend, I was referring to those who repeated clamber upon their high horse and ask people to justify why they go. I respect everyones stance and opinion on the matter and understand that different people deal with situations differently. We all have our own circumstances. I just went with my heart, and my heart said "Go with the girl".

I'm not going to take her to an away game. She's 4, and to be fair, whilst our away support is fantastic, it's not a family crowd. I tend to go to away matches with friends.

I'm not happy about the situation, and it was so strange being there, but my daughter had a great day and that passion is rekindling. That, to me, is more important.

Do whatever you need to, and just because I'm in the minority, does not make me wrong. Just because you're in the majority doesn't make you wrong either.

I fully agree with you for not wanting to take your daughter to an away game. This season was supposed to be my youngest lads first season following our club. He was 4 in November. He knows his team plays in blue. That is all he knows though. Away games are quite safe these days. Not the sort of thing you want to take a small kid to though. I will never go to Northampton. But even if I did I wouldn't take my 4 year old. It is nearly 5 hours each way without traffic jams. And as it isn't in Coventry he wouldn't have a break from the journeys apart from the game like he would have visiting family/friends.

Fair play if you want to take your daughter. Not what I would do but the choice isn't mine. I just hope my lad hasn't chosen another team before I start taking him to see ours.

Sisu have overseen our relegation, administration, liquidation, move out of Coventry, legal threats against SkyBlue Trust. While selling virtually all assets and increasing the debt. They apparently aspire to us have a league 1 stadium, after taking over a team with modest premiership ambitions 6 years ago.

And then some tell us, we are over harsh on them!

We are at the worst point in our history as a club, with Sisu in charge, wake up and smell the fucking coffee!

Just reading back through this thread - what a great post!

Some of you are being arseholes. Read through GPE's post and feel very ashamed if you defend SISU in any fucking way, or (even worse) attend Sixfields.

You are letting down a proud City.

Passionate for football at 4 ? Unlikely but .....
Why come on and make excuses for yourself? You do realise this is the first step in an Unknown Sisu plan and they rely on you being there to justify it.
You are following it blindly without asking questions.

She genuinely is. Sky Blue Sam and Soccer AM have gone a long way to helping towards this, but she had a season ticket with me last season and happily sat attentive all the way through most matches. Yes, it can get a bit much for her at times, but we take a colouring book if it's a bit boring, and I talk her through almost every kick. She loves Joe Murphy because last season he wore pink and he can kick it the furthest, she loves Leon Clarke because he scores goals and she wants DMG "Goldie" to come back.

I'm not making excuses, some on here repeatedly ask for reasons, so I'm offering my own personal reason. There's no doubting if it wasn't for her then I probably wouldn't have attended at all this season, but she is my priority.

As for following blindly - I've contributed towards music on the Sky Blue Trust album, I've held a conversation with Tim Fisher inside Sixfields when my daughter was mascot wearing a SISU OUT badge and she wore a sky blue ribbon in her hair. I want my club home. I continue to take my daughter in the hope that things will get better for us. Without that, what's the point?

We made a day of it, went for a meal. About an hour there and an hour back from Coventry, but I've just remembered, you travel from elsewhere. There's a strong Man Utd influence from my wife's side of the family - and she's already told me this season she likes Man Utd but Coventry are the best!! :/

I live 2 hours past Manchester. This is why I make a weekend of all games. But with my lad it would be best to make it just a day. I normally leave my house just before 4am and meet up in Coventry for breakfast before getting on a supporters coach to get to a game.

Sometimes I wish I didn't feel so strongly about not going to Northampton, but I have made the decision. Once we are back I will be back. Then my lad can start going. Can't wait to see his face the first time he goes.

I don't go to Sixfields so that blows your stupid theory and that's after 40 years of hardly missing a game.

You should ask your comrade GPE when he last went to a game. I suspect Stanley Matthews was in his prime.

I just don't get it Grendull. You say you don't go to any games because of what SISUE have done to our club, but you defend them every chance you get and have a go at people that won't go to Northampton.

Think that you are not alone there. Does anybody understand Grendel?

the money they pay goes to Otium, which ultinmately means they are supporting them

dont doubt they are supporting the players, but financially, its going to the owners

Same as the people who went to Barnsley or afc wimbledon then?

agree with you Nick

I wouldn't give them nowt

every away game i have been to i have booked direct with the away club or paid on the gate

Maybe I am extreme, but they simply aren't getting 1p from me

To what extent have they been defended? Has anybody said they have done nothing at all wrong? If so then of course they are wrong

come on Nick, surely it is. Are you saying if i gave money to lets say, UKIP that it wouldn't be defending them ?

Weather they think they are or not, anyone paying to get into sixfields is giving money to SISU, thus "supporting" their actions

:thinking about:

So you are only defending someone if you say they are totally innocent of all charges?

Go back to bed Nick and get out of it on the right side this time ;)

It's a bit different comparing donating money to a bunch of politicians and going to watch a football match. If people were saying to sisu, just have my money I support you with nothing in return I could understand.

People are paying to watch the football team they love play football.

Or they could just be defending people assist their own stupidity like when they post outrageous stuff. You can't defend against facts.
