I disagree. If they had to send back circa. 1K last time, and the additional allocation was 3.5K; their share of the receipts from the 2.5K they may have sold would have been greater than the liability against a value of 1K tickets (if they remained unsold). So, the facts aren't greater if you care to do the maths. And by ensuring the allocation is initially taken by the SISU Sycophants, rather like first-dibs on the Stadium Forum, SISU tend to get a kinder audience in front of those naughty TV cameras than with a more representative demographic.
But - nobody raised this. Whereas some did embarrass themselves in a rather Neville Chamberlainesque fashion. For me, more reason has been shown by those who sit outside of the SISU Dozen, than those sitting inside, enjoying the cosy picnic

I've just spoken to a "Ticket office salesperson" at "The Emirates" He confirmed CCFC sent back nearly 3k tickets(Which have now been sold to Arsenal fans)...Just for arguments sake, SISU state that any shortfall of tickets, costs would be passed on to fans.....So what are SISU worrying about then? It seems it wouldn't cost the owners anything. Please don't say they are "Thinking of the fans" nothing is further from the truth.

Not saying it isn't but have never heard of a club having to pay for unsold tickets before. And I am sure that SISUE would have informed us about this the last time we played there if a top Prem side had charged us for unsold tickets.
They have fed us so much bullshit over the years they have been with us that I don't believe a word they say unless there is proof to go with it.

Of course they'd make us pay for the second batch, the Club has to oblige when taking all of the second allocation and pay for all the seats taken, otherwise Arsenal have the right to sell all the seats to their ST holders which would I am sure would have not failed to sell out after giving us that option.

But if you're flying the flag of financial prudence, what if they had sold 2.5K of the additional allocation and sent 1K back, like they claim happened last time?
Wouldn't their share of the 2.5K additional tickets sold to CCFC fans covered any loss associated with the 1K return?
Could have fulfilled the criteria of financial prudence you laud, and kept more fans happy, no?

Good point. But they obviously made the decision that it wasn't worth the risk. The probably should have. But at least we aren't talking about wild conspiracy theories now.

You can't have it both ways, Nick. They sold out with a week to spare. Plenty of evidence that there was demand. I'm not saying they made the wrong call. Read back. Just saying that if as many people are so inherently anti-SISU as is claimed, this would be a valid point to raise. But they didn't....

What I suggest any CCFC fan should do is this:- Phone "The Emirates on 0207 6195000" Ask the same question that I did....Are my club liable for any shortfall in ticket sales! When asked if I was a Coventry City fan, to which I said yes. There was a lot of "Humm and Err" The guy on the phone said They didn't know the reason why we sent back our allocation of tickets......@ crowsnest...The cost of any shortfall in ticket sales would have to be bourne by the Club...Now I maybe wrong, but IMHO would say these "Shortfalls" would be covered by a rise in "STH prices going up" Prices on the gate "Going up" What about being charged "£5" for paying by Credit card for FA Cup tickets, League Cup tickets, in fact ANY f**king tickets!

Don't get me wrong, I would have loved 30,000 city fans there taking over. I am not sure if it was Arsenal rushing them and they bottled it or what, just that it wasn't done to stop a couple of thousand more holding up a bit of paper or out of spite.

You can't argue that MMM because the scenario's are totally different, firstly the game is Televised live so that might put people off making the trip, secondly it's a Friday and you'd have to ensure travel from Coventry leaving at least 15:30-16:00 which means hitting all the traffic and nightmare of all the travelling involved going into London, finally its January, most people haven't been paid and the financial hangover is still an impact from Christmas, I doubt that we would of sold an extra 1K of the extra allocation had it been given to us.
Well lets answer your question using the thread at least 30 different posters have responded to this thread of those 30, only 3 posters have objective views of this move (10%) a minority of fans unfortunately. It may have helped please the people who can't be pleased, but if they had sold 1000 out of the 3500 avaliable, they still would have of had to pay £81,250 (roughly) to Arsenal when they would of only made £32,500 on the second allocation. That's almost a loss of £50,000, it's not worth it and the correct decision.
