Hear me out. We can all agree that our stature as a club has diminished somewhat since they arrived but how much of it was avoidable? And what have the positives been in their tenure so far?

For a long time now I have been as anti SISU as they come but because all this hatred is bloody tiring, I have started to look at things a little differently. When they took over there was a general consensus that a hedge fund are only in it for the money and that the only way they could crystalize their investment was to sell the club for a greater profit than which they bought it, plus debts accrued whilst in control. I don't believe this has changed. What has been in question is the way they have achieved this. But they are a hedge fund, its in their DNA to distress, lie and cheat their way to get what they want.

Fisher said once that we should build a statue of Joy, and although the mere suggestion on the face of it is insulting at best, I think I understand what he might be trying so tactlessly to say. In 10 years time where will this club be? If all goes the way SISU hope, we will be OWNERS of a modern multi purpose Stadium gleaning revenues from football related activity to Take That concerts.

On the pitch their can be little argument that they are doing the right thing after a period of mis-management from people they entrusted to take care of the football side of things. Had Pressley OR Robbins been in control from the start, we could be in a completely different position to one we find ourselves in today. And selling best players is a football reality for ANY club at our level.

Assuming the club take control of the Ricoh we may all be looking back in ten years time as SISU being the pill this club needed to swallow to make it well again. It was not exactly in fine fettle before they arrived and to continue to do nothing would mean the club continue to do nothing, possibly delaying the inevitable even longer.

This club could emerge from this dark period as a club back on its feet, good income streams and a top to bottom approach on the football side of things - something most contributors agree Presley and Waggot are doing well to achieve.

So, will we look back in 10 years and be grateful for putting this club back on its feet again after years of neglect and mismanagement? We will likely have forgotten the extremities of what we are going through currently? And I suppose the biggest question is is it all worth the heartbreak, the lost generation of supporters, the reputation of the club being dragged through the mud, on a whim that they will get the desired result at the end of it?

Please don't turn this into another pro v anti SISU thread, more interested to hear if people think that what they are doing could be good for the club in the long run...

Don't they they will ever be good for the club, but at the same time aren't exactly the evil scum they are painted to be by some either.

No misunderstanding. BUT assuming they achieve what they want at the JR, assuming they take control of the Ricoh, assuming they sell us on, would it not be worth it in your eyes for one season to give the club stability in the long run? no more teetering on the edge of bankruptcy.

We would all love a rich sugar daddy but cant be surprised of the actions of a hedge fund to try and distress can we?

Does anyone honestly believe it will be just one season though?

Well I can only imagine their master plan relies on the JR, which if goes their way could mean back at the Ricoh as owners for next season.

The season prior to SISU taking over we finished 17th in the Championship, we have never bettered that under SISU and are now in League 1.

The season prior to SISU taking over our average attendence was 20,342 with a highest attendance of 27,212, this season we have an average of 2,406 with a high of 4,905. Even last season at the Ricoh attendance had dropped to 10,948 with a high of 15,185.

We are in more debt than I can ever recall at any point in our history.

We are playing 35 miles away from the city.

There are no plans to return to the city.

Whatever metric you choose to measure there is none that show anything other than catastrophic failure under SISU.

I would highly doubt that if we return to the Ricoh it will be as owners or with the money coming into the football club.

I don't disagree with any of this - read my first sentence.

I am asking if you feel it will be worth it if their masterplan comes off?

Do you really think they have a masterplan? Seems to me it's gone very wrong for them and they are scambling for a means to recoup as much, if not all, of their investors money.

Have SISU done anything that makes you think the outcome of any such masterplan will be of benefit to CCFC rather than SISU?

SISU winning the JR doesn't mean the council will sell them the freehold or acl will sell the Arena to sisu. It has been stated recently the Ricoh could be sold but not who to.

I totally agree, I think it all falls on the JR and getting the Ricoh. Your initial post was excellent, just for the fact it looks on things from a different slant, and despite SISU being the most despised, useless, pompous, abject, idiotic, stupid, crass, f***wits, the League has ever seen, if they led us back to the Ricoh, as owners, and sold up leaving us in new hands I would be ecstatic.

The point you make about the club being in a terrible state before they took over, and that we couldn't continue to do nothing is true. Its the worst case scenario though that we ended up with owners like we have, to have against everyone's wishes our City's club playing outside its City's boundary's, but we couldn't carry on as we were. I just wish another of the potential suitors had bought us, but by all accounts most looked at the books and never came back.

We are a lot lower and worse than we have ever been, but we were on a downward spiral the days when we had a team with Dean Holdsworth, Lee Mills, Lee Fowler, David Pipe etc as its main protagonists, and yes SISU have made it worse than anyone could have, but we were already heading down.

I wish SISU gone, for good, and the club home, but feel we have been on a downward spiral a lot longer than there reign, and I am hopeful that as we are at rock bottom, surely things must get better from now????

I am not loading in their favour at all. I have said they have been a disaster so far. I'm not interested in what book you could write, I am asking if they pull off what they are trying to, will it be good for the club in 10 years time? how is that unreasonable or SISU biased??? I am asking you to be objective.

If sisu got their hands on the ricoh freehold im sure they would remortgage it to the hilt, get their money back and liquidate the club.

SISU have mis-managed the asset and their strategy has changed over the years, although the objective is the same, to make money for their investors rather than for the football club.

Many clubs management re-invest in the club but as a private equity/hedge fund the ROI to investors is the primary objective. (What does the University of Pennsylvania Investment fund care about a small soccer club in England)

I believe that the football club was important when they took over, if premier league status had been achieved, but it is now just a piece to enable a property development strategy which will reap rewards for the investors. The club will no longer be important once the property has been acquired.

True...although I hope they would sell it and fekk off rather than liquidate....but on past history they dont do happy endings

Your misunderstanding my sentiment. Take off the I HATE SISU hat for a moment and read what I am saying.

Of course they are a bunch of bumbling idiots with no place in football, and I have very little faith in anything they do, BUT, if they get the ricoh and sell us on as is their aim, will it be for the benefit of the club in the long run and will it put us in a better position off the field to compete?

It's the idea that - if SISU get the Ricoh they will quickly and quietly sell up and move on-that I don't get.

It's not an I hate SISU hat at all. How have you drawn the conclusion that their aim is to get the Ricoh and sell us on? There is no evidence to support that. The only evidence we have regarding their plans is Joy's interview in the CT where she stated her primary aim was to recover her investors money. I have seen nothing to suggest they have any plan which would see CCFC better off than we are now let alone better off than we were when SISU took over.

I cant see SISU relinquishing ownership of the Ricoh if they return the club back to the city and win the JR. They are motivated by return on investment, although the club would be home I think you can replace ACL/CCC with SISU, the rent would just go to a different owner. They have stated a long term objective of hiring AEG to run and maximise stadium revenues, does any one truly think that SISU would divert the profits from that venture back to CCFC in the long run and not take them in to their own coffers? Return on investment, rather than continual losses?

If the Ricoh makes money and the football club doesn't isn't the more likley option that they sell the club and retain ownership of the Ricoh charging the club a large rent to play there?

Possibly, I dont dispute that, but I think the club has been a lot more of a burden to them than they would have liked, and it has seen a high turnover of idiots from their ranks and yet it still fails.
Get the ground, sell and get the cash, and get a return, could be the exit plan for them to then invest and strip another asset with less bad press, and less grief, and more of a chance of profit

magic82ball......."more interested to hear if people think that what they are doing could be good for the club in the long run."........................................................................................................................................................Doesn't this sentence load in favour of the owners?..Anyway...Would you not agree with what I've said about "Ambition" and "Size of Stadia" then? Ambition and Stadia size is relevant in respect of what the owners think we will achieve(At best mid to lower Championship) The most likely scenario however, would be what Valiant15 has posted....remortgage to the hilt then liquidate CCFC.

I think this was the plan and still is the favored solution but there is another plan in place now which involves the new stadium development.

Why? A Ricoh with no CCFC is as much use to them as it is to ACL.

Bringing in Pressley and allowing him to invest in youth team players that the club can develop into first teamers. That is a very big benefit to CCFC.

My gripe is them nicking my football club and holding it ransom in another town for their own financial gain. Other than that no issues that other fans don't have up and down the country

Yes but even the shining light of that vision, Alex Ferguson still spent millions on other big name players around the youth system. A club cannot survive on a good youth system alone, it also needs investment and experience.

CCFC or whatever the footballing entity is called will NEVER own their stadium, be it the Ricoh or the SmokeandMirrors Arena. SISU will charge the footballing side a high rent to "move" cash/loans/debt between the the various subsidiaries to produce the maximum return. As a business, you can't blame them, but for us fans to believe anything else is F&B in the sky.....

There's an old saying...."The proof of the pudding is in the eating" Up till now, the only thing citizens of Coventry, and fans of Coventry City FC have eaten is S**t from SISU. It's time to get rid of that "Menu" and "Owners"

You could be right. However, Joy's own words were the things she cares about most in the world is her family and investors. Now does that mean that either we are going to see her son running down the left wing at the Ricoh once she got ownership or that she will maximise every opportunity she can if she had the Ricoh to make money out of it rather than do things for the football club?
