The problem with SISU Out (27 Viewers)

Coventry City (or actually SISU City) are on the way to a long drawn out death.

Let Cov United play at Ricoh and speed up the demise of SISU.
If that American bloke or anyone with a few quid, they should invest in Cov at the Ricoh.

Once we get a couple of promotions, fans will desert SISU City and come over to United.

Not pretty, but it's a way out of the mess

I've read some utter bollocks on this forum in the past, but this takes the cake.

I thought this nonsense argument was put to bed last summer when two other parties expressed an interest in owning the club?

Im a big fan of all things SISU out and all that. But the problem with SISU out is who is there that would come in?
and could it put our club into more chaos if SISU did get out??

Couldn't you ask that whenever Sisu left? Or is your plan that they own us for eternity?

There's always buyers for football clubs, even basket cases like ours.

I'd like to see a fan consortium offer pence in the pound for the debt, say £5-7m and go from there. Not likely to happen while Joy thinks she can gets tens of millions from the Ricoh mind.

If we assumed a base attendance of 10,000 at an average of £10 (which was about what the average was at Ricoh) then that's around £2m of income, that's after deducting an estimated Ricoh rent and match day charges of £300,000.

Add to that any sponsorship, tv money, cup games. If any other company thought they could keep costs below that total then they may well be interested in being Plan B.

Obviously this all assumes that they don't need to buy the club from SISU at a ridiculous price, and that they don't bother spending millions on buying the freehold.

SISU will be around until at least the JR outcome, and after any appeals, so we don't need to worry about Plan B just yet.

Sorry guys - but my brain has gone into meltdown over the JR saga (he wasn't dead it was just a dream ;)). Please remind me - when is the next key date re: JR in SISU v Cov City Council ?

Late Feb early March I believe.

Otis makes a good point: It's well within Sisu's gift to bring us back from the brink.

A return to the Ricoh, even as an interim while a new ground is sorted, and investment in the best manager in my lifetime and many will soon forget on the back of a promotion campaign.

According to Labovitch May or June ,either from the SCG or his last radio stint IIRC>

Could in reality be anytime then, as Laboivitch is off his chain and is about as precise in the clarity of his facts as Fisher is, and as proper mad as Dulieu.

Where do they roll them out from!

I am not sure they have even requested the JR yet.

Before they do request it, they will have to prepare a case that is credible, brief witnesses that are believable and deposit a large sum of money with their lawyers. What could possibly cause a delay?

Wondered what Dulieu had been up to, and apparently he has his old job back advertising Tango

Bottom line for me I don't give a fuck who owns us but I care that Coventry City plays in Coventry that was the ultimate aim of any protest is to get us back home.

that American could have bought the interest of CCFC off SISU quite easily had he been so inclined. Lets just say 30m and SISU would have left in a hurry. He then could have walked in on the Ricoh (pretty much clear at the time it was backed by the council and ACL) for the valuation and hey presto for some 40m he had the lot! But he didn't did he?

SISU made nothing but mistakes and continue to do so. But they have arrested a lot of things that were bad.
As for the 1.2m rent the council insisted on? They were right to make a stand. lets not wrap it up in everything else. The rent for simply playing on a pitch every other week without sharing income streams or having any input on the stadium was crazy but the council did not care.
What SISU have done since has been equally crazy but both sides are culpable in all this mess. It may be that SISU have been the biggest culprits but it has and is a two way street.

My biggest beef with SISU is the way they have and continue to treat the fans. More openness and explanations are required. perhaps with so many legal processes that has been difficult and so long as the JR has yet to be heard I fear it will continue. Afterwards they better start explaining themselves more and the council better start trying harder too.

The Ricoh is there and while it's never been a true home yet it darn well needs to be. Everyone knows it.

This thread appears to have gone a little off-topic. Did anyone actually come up with some possible buyers?

But as someone mentioned earlier, weren't they more interested in the development opportunities around the stadium?

Which of course is of no interest to sisu in anyway shape or form. They're here for football, I say here I off course meen over there in Northampton.

Sorry, what do you mean? We are talking about who is going to buy the club from Sisu.

I guess even ACL could find a case to buy us.

I'll take a chance so fcuk off SISU.

I have no interest in ACL taking us over, probably about as clueless as Joy about football. Although still would like to see the back of Sisu and the face of Joy.

As they all will be, as I would be (along side my love for the club) if I had the cash!

No one is going to buy the club from SISU for the foreseeable future. They aren't selling, they still think they can recover their investors money, and I can't imagine anyone would trust them enough to do a deal with them. This is a long term shit storm, and a happy ending (not that sort), is not guaranteed.
