The problem with SISU Out (19 Viewers)

Are you? You haven't suggested anyone yet.

That's probably because I can't think of anyone who would and was asking if anybody else had any ideas, rather than people just listing their grievances with Sisu for the millionth time.

Are you drunk?

No one is going to buy the club from SISU for the foreseeable future. They aren't selling, they still think they can recover their investors money, and I can't imagine anyone would trust them enough to do a deal with them. This is a long term shit storm, and a happy ending (not that sort), is not guaranteed.

So don't you think the constant 'Sisu out' dogma is a bit pointless then?

Is this what Stockholm Syndrome looks like?

You could've asked the same thing before Sisu bought us. No-one knows who is out there, but absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.

Sorry, you've lost me again. Isn't Stockholm Syndrome when you start liking your kidnapper or something? I'm not saying there's an absence of evidence, I'm asking if there's any evidence, ideas, suggestions of who might buy a club temporarily located 34 miles away with mountains of debt. Just you stating authoritatively that 'someone will buy us', sadly doesn't fill me with confidence.

Until it is up for sale, or at the very least the owners make it known they are wanting a way out and will consider reasonable offers, very few people are going to go on record as interested, or even look in our direction.

The Sisu out mantra can focus the mind of Sisu to show them that they either need to plan their exit or listen to the fans. If they changed their direction and mended bridges instead of burning them redemption is possible. The choice is theirs, and the protesting of the fans of the club is a reminder that what they choose will have consequences.

Simply saying that we should let them do what they want as we have no power is not something many want to hear, It may be true, but too early to tell. People need to feel that they are doing something, they need to see things happening, they need hope, without hope we are dead. Sisu out is hope.

Im a big fan of all things SISU out and all that. But the problem with SISU out is who is there that would come in?
and could it put our club into more chaos if SISU did get out??

The problem with sisu out is that sisu are not out, thats the problem

Fair answer. Though I'd be surprised if they didn't already know they weren't flavour of the month. My concern is that Shmeee's 'they will buy it' people would offer such a derisory amount (and who could blame them?) that Sisu would just go 'bollocks, fuck 'em, let's liquidate'. I know there are a lot of people on this site who are chomping at the bit for a 'phoenix club' but I'm not one of them. When the club's gone that's me finished.

that American could have bought the interest of CCFC off SISU quite easily had he been so inclined. Lets just say 30m and SISU would have left in a hurry. He then could have walked in on the Ricoh (pretty much clear at the time it was backed by the council and ACL) for the valuation and hey presto for some 40m he had the lot! But he didn't did he?

No and that shows exactly why SISU will not be able to build a stadium and sell us recouping their investment, no one pays that sort of money for a league one club, Not to mention the fact you'd have to be mentally unstable to have given SISU 30m for something worth a few million at absolute best.

I don't think for a second we'd struggle to get a buyer if the club were up for sale for what it's currently worth because it's very easy to increase the value of the club at the moment. The amount of income from sponsors, corporate hospitality, ticket sales and merchandising sales could all be increased 5 fold simply by agreeing a cheap rent deal and moving to Coventry, ACL would likely be available at a good rate too an owner who looked like they had the best interests of the club at heart, which are current owners clearly do not.

5 fold? And 'ACL would likely be available at a good rate too an owner who looked like they had the best interests of the club at heart'? ACL are a business, why on earth would they lower their price just because they thought somebody had the best interests of the club at heart? That makes no sense.

Noggin was saying that ACL would lower their price if the potential buyer had the interests of the club at heart. I was asking why they (ACL) would do that. I also believe CCC have a veto on potential purchasers of Higgs share but I may be wrong. It's not rocket science, no, but it's not simple either. Imo.

The Higgs if I remember were willing to take a hit on their investment I think the price was 5 million,Sisu wanted the whole lot for not much more If Sisu went in with a serious bid for ACL im sure they would get it

You can tell a sisu supporter a mile off they always like to use the liquidation threat !!!!
Liquidation is not an option because it would render the most valuable asset, the golden share worthless .....

To be fair John some of the harshest critics of Sisu have also peddled out the liquidation threat, particularly in relation to the prospect of them ever owning the Ricoh.

I agree though I cant see them doing it, as to make there money back they need to sell the whole package....I just wish it was soon, they had gone and we were back home.

the 30m I mentioned was just a an example knowing that's the figure SISU have more than likely invested overall since coming here.
The rest is paper debt. The theory is just to show that buy one at the inflatable value so you can get the other (Ricoh) at low value but overall you have a deal.
35 - 40m to include the Ricoh and a big city club ripe for investment of playing staff and promotion's to the premier league? hell yeah! I think Southampton have proven that. If the will was there that American with the Hoff banker behind him should surely have seen that possibility yet for some reason they fell away. So yes the whole thing is a bit of rocket science and I'd love to have the inside knowledge as all of us would. That's why after the JR is over one way or another the truth will emerge... SISU will have some explaining to do.

But if sisu lose the JR surely they will just appeal again dragging it out even more.
They will then say we can't make a move until the court case is over.
They will drag this out as long as they can so that they can find a scapegoat for all their fuck ups.
And some people want to give them another chance?:thinking about:

The majority would say no 2nd chances, but at the moment, as unfortunate for us as it is we are stuck with them and their decision is fcuked up and final!

And to Paxmans point about Sisu and explaining, their suits and spin doctors will have answers, you can be sure most wont like them!

It is difficult to visualise how we can go forward with SISU, I can see it getting worse, without them there is a chance longer term.

I find it hard to get my head around the options for SISU if they lose the JR. I am in the camp that thinks a new stadium is financial suicide for them . Liquidation means a loss of circa 40 million and an incredible hit on the reputation of Ms Sepalla and her investment dealings . Sepalla's whole remit is based on ,not giving up in the face of adversity. I'm afraid we have become damaged ,situated in between two waring factions ,both, of which have more to lose than just our football club . The only good side to this from my point of view is the togetherness and backs to the wall camaraderie that seems to be emerging from the sky blue faithful . I for one have had some amazing away days this year with the sky blue army and I am willing to sit out the boycott of sixfields for far longer than Ms Sepalla realises . Notts county looks like being a cracker !

IMO liquidation is the most likely outcome whether Sisu get the Ricoh or not.

Running up £60m debt in the Prem is one thing. Doing it in L1 while also reducing your income is suicide.

I can't see a way back from the mess they've put us in. Unless they suddenly become willing to play the other side of the distressed debt market they like so much.

If they get a ground they'll mortgage it to the hilt and fuck off. If they don't they'll sell everything that they can (why else would you try to redevelop Ryton before even buying any land for a new ground) and liquidate us out of spite.

You're not wrong but CCC's position has long been "we will sell to someone with a long term interest in the club". Higgs have said they want out of the stadium management game, after all they were just supposed to be holding the shares for CCFC.

You forget that the current stance from both parties is down to the breakdown in relations thanks to Sisu. And even then both sides have left the door open.

It really is simple: act like a decent organisation and you can buy into ACL.

And yes. I think gates would increase 5 fold upon a return to the Ricoh at least, don't you?

IMHO better the devil you know!!!!!!!!!!
Im not sure if you are serious but other people have said this to me. Does it mean SISU can do what they like and you will follow. And following the logic of that statement Andy Thorn and Ken Dulieu should be sitting on the bench alongside an inured David Bell.

Some good points on this thread. Let's face it either way our club is in a bad way.
IMHO I believe the FL have caused great deal of our issues by allowing SISU to get away with so much, why did they not tell them that to keep the Golden share they must stay in Coventry. We should try and put pressure on them to sort things out.

Otis

Well yes, surely the FL had the power to say to the club that they needed to remain in the city, or at least within say 15 miles of the city.

Why on earth they would let the owners take us 34 miles away just beggaars belief. Another ridiculous decision in this whole ridiculous sorry saga.

Which is why we should keep up every and any sort of protest or statement.
We need to be seen at every away game and on the hill at Sixfields.

I wish I could, I really do, but for me the whole problem is the club has been moved 34 miles away and I refused to travel those 34 miles! Therefore for me to go 34 miles to protest I won't travel 34 miles seems rather hypocritical at best.

Unless they sold to Vincent Tan who then installed David Icke as manager it is difficult to envisage a scenario where ownership change would not be positive. It may be unlikely but does not mean there is a problem with wishing (or indeed chanting) for it. The only problem with "SISU Out" is that it hasn't happened yet

I don't see it as hypocritical at all, to me it shows that distance isn't the issue, the issue is that's it's wrong to take a club from its home City for no good reason.

I know there are a lot of people on this site who are chomping at the bit for a 'phoenix club' but I'm not one of them. When the club's gone that's me finished.

This is a view that I really can't comprehend. Wimbledon, Aldershot, Chester, Newport, Nuneaton: all Phoenix clubs, all truly the same entity as the clubs that went bust, all playing at the same level now as they were when they were liquidated. How many of their fans deserted them when they started again in non league? Very few of them. They got behind their clubs when they were needed the most and rebuilt them. Are Coventry fans not capable of that? The scenes against Arsenal demonstrate that we're more than capable of it!

The idea that people are prepared to tolerate SISU and go to Sixfields yet not to support their team in a future fight to regain it's rightful place-something that's achieved via a fantastic community spirit of passionate and united supporters-is utterly baffling to me.

Why should fans who want to watch their team play get criticised for going to Sixfields? Probably our most high profile fan Kev Monks goes there because he wants to watch his team play.

Ah, don't knock yourself out about it. That's the way it works round here. Many posters see things in literal black and white. If you don't end every sentence with "SISU Out!" or should I amusingly say "SISUE Out!" then you're a SISU supporter/lover/admirer or you're a SISU plant or something like that. Very tiresome.

So I'm a Sisu supporter?

You're a fucking idiot.
