This football is very pretty but won't get us promoted. Certainly not with such a small squad.

We've got mostly lower table sides left. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad one. We do at least tend to lose against the higher teams I guess.
It all hinges on whether we can adequately replace Leon. There's no way we can carry on relying on a right back to play as a striker. It's a joke.

Just total apathy for ccfc until we go home unfortunately. Will be at Bristol city, just hope we return to cov asap

12 points off. Unless we win something stupid like 5 in a row I think that's it.

We need around 40 more points from 19 games to make the play offs now.

That would equate to something like:

12 wins, 4 draws, 3 losses.

Far too much of an ask.

We're not as good as we think we are. Even with our ten points back we wouldn't be in playoffs.

Well that on the whole was deserved. They wanted it a lot more than us. But I think that's party because of our lack of options.

Players for the first goal I think were stuck celebrating the penalty save, and forgot about the job at hand.

Yes we tested their keeper three times but that was about all we did offer.

Orient look a decent outfit and deserve to be where they are in the league.

But we would have two games in hand, it's the same as it has been all season. We've a decent first 11 (Including Leon) 2 or 3 injuries at the same time and we are screwed.

Pressley's done well so far but his signings have been pretty abysmal to date which when you have our size of squad pretty much everyone has to be spot on. Slager can't get in ahead of a defender and a 16 year old, Urqhart can't even make the bench, Manset is already gone and Webster has been unconvincing.

Its a shame the season has fizzled out but was sadly always going to be the case as soon as we had injuries never mind our only front two strikers.

Slager and Urqhart were both signed as development players... They aren't supposed to be playing week in week out the only reason Slager has is because of the Leon situation.

I get they were signed as development players but surely if they had anything about them they'd be ahead of these 16 year olds that are making the first team and bench ahead of them.

I'd also question the wisdom of using our small budget to sign development players when we obviously need players who are ready to go into the first team but that's a different conversation.

All in all that was a pretty depressing showing. Nothing up front, no pressing, no urgency. So disappointing. Such a decent turn out for the lads. Yet again no bollocks against a side higher than us in the league.

I agree- a different conversation... clearly there is a long term view and strategy under SP... if not this year, which against the backdrop of circumstance looks unlikely then the forthcoming years seem favouable- assuming the football club can sort its off the field troubles.

Maybe time for SISU to leave. It's not working with them is it?

They're not interested in Football, all they want to do is sit tight while litigation continues, you're looking at a mid table 3rd division club playing 34 miles from their true home for at least the next 4 years, possibly longer.

You might not be alone thinking the season has "fizzled out"...I still think that given where most of us thought we'd be before a ball was kicked - we're still doing phenomenally well. AND I think it unwise to count us out yet. If in a month's time we're still 8 or more points off the play-offs...I'd be conceding it as most unlikely. For now though - still very much alive & kicking!

i thought we played fairly well against a very decent team. matched them all over, apart from obviously up front, where the paucity of options was almost farcical. having said that, no idea why slager didn't start. did give a lot of energy and looked reasonably sharp when he came on. most obviously though, he knew how to play up front. moussa far more effective out wide than receiving the ball with his back to goal.

Felt sorry for George Thomas but he clearly isn't ready.

J.Clarke looked more effective when he came on.
