Depending upon what day of the week it is I'm either being told I'm a sisu scab or an acl employee - from day one of this mess I've always said I'm pro team and fans and have never bought into the whole having to be pro/anti acl/sisu. To state the bleeding obvious, the independent Inquiry idea has always been about calling to account all those responsible for the mess we're in and at least trying to get a better factual understanding of what's gone on. Don't think many people would mind finding that out if it was actually the case and evidence backed. Most people want the truth and given that so far CCC and ACL have not been shown to have lied about anything where Fisher and Labovich are known to have lied on several occasions it is only natural that most people choose not to believe information coming out of SISU that has no evidence to back it up.

I don't see much reason for the "be careful what you wish for" type posts above. I hold a lot of trust and faith in the almighty Truth. If an inquiry shows unseen conspiracies, devious business practices, negligence, etc., by ANY and/or ALL parties in relation to our club in particular, then it would be an alarm for the state of football in general.
I'd say bring on inquiries, investigations, and there may be general reforms to governance of the sport that can benefit fans of all clubs.

The Judicial Review was instigated by one party the Higgs are making a different legal action but they're still involved in this mess and not neutral. On the other hand a select committee would be instigated (assuming we get all the signatures) by us the supporters and the people of Coventry and anyone else who cares about our situation, not one of the parties directly involved. As such what fan would oppose it?

So many mights...I would expect many of those mights to have been cleared up by the Judicial Review.

Then it is the unasked and unanswered questions that need addressing.

That might be more to do with the actions of the Football League, the Administration process, and yes, I have to say it Sisu.

The Football League can hide behind "our rules do not allow us to interfere". They might however be asked why their rules are not fit for purpose.

The Administration process was carried out legally, but maybe the law is too loose, and needs a tighten. Only by examining the issue can that be answered.

Sisu have many questions to answer, yet seem totally inept at answering any. The last people they want being questioned is their own business, and key players, within a context that all the facts are know from all sides, by a qualified independent committee.

Maybe someone should ask all the key players to sign the petition. The club could also address the Sixfield fans at half time and urge them to sign it.

Getting the signatures my no means guarantees a select committee meeting, all it 'guarantees' is that it might, only might, get talked about in the House of Commons. ACL's accounts are due out by the end of the month, so that should give an idea of what has been going on for them.

An inquiry …. Might show that ACL was always losing money and that even when the Club paid all the rent, the only way ACL (as managed by the Charity and the Council) could pay its bills was to sell off future revenue and pass it through the profit and loss account… go on then you budding forensic accountants give it a go… !

It might show that the best offer in town was from SISU to pay off the bank loan but that irrational prejudice by the labour majority stirred up by some good old chanting and would rather spend £14,400,000 of tax payers money to end up back where it started with a worthless company but £14.4m poorer… Like having an old car and offering an impoverished owner an HP deal for 3x the value of the car and then getting pissy when the owner won't pay it?

It might be that the Council needed to sell the football club with the stadium to have any hope of burying the fact that it has sold off the future income from the Casino, Hospitality and Development...

Investment..? Did the Council put in £20,000,000 to build the stadium.. or did it loan it to ACL and the force ACL to borrow from the bank to to repay the council… Just how much might an inquiry find that the council has taken out… Capital investment or capital extraction? What does this do to the councils own accounting? What could an inquiry find?

Would it find that the ACL shares are worthless and that a Charity has thrown away its inheritance by mismanaging the stadium?

And how much would it find that the stadium had to charge in over rent to paper over its losses...

Well get signing chaps so like the end of all good thrillers we can discover… was it the Council in the Stadium with the Briefcase...Or was in the Owner in the Stadium with the Football team… ? Or the Charity in the stands with the chequebook..

Why would you lend £14,400,000 to a company that has an asset worth £5m and a cash flow that could not pay the over heads… Stand up now… I am sure the council will accept offers from anyone who is daft enough to take that offer...

Do you really believe that (As per the Council Leader),,,. A stadium is not a stadium its a "casino"… (oh yes one which has paid to get out of its lease) or Shazzam its a conference centre….) or woosh Its a hotel !! Naw that high green bit in the middle is for show… and the seats are and outdoor picnic area...

Hey none of this might be found, but don't forget, ACL, the Council and Higgs are in the selling game and the Club is the customer.

So who is this who is going to speak up, the Club, the Charity, the Council… Why can't the Council put the stadium up for sale? Oh that's right because it can't balance the books!!!

Inquiry …. what fun, bet you could sell tickets for that… oh I forgot… there will be Judicial review this summer with the Council explaining itself to a High Court judge and its free to go an watch ….

Are you honestly suggesting that a sane business would not try to stop legal action being taken against it?

Have you ever heard of legal costs, not to mention the distraction?

It depends I guess, personally I wouldn't want it but then again I haven't been taking out legal action against other parties.

I just hope this JR gets everything out in the open.

Are you suggesting that if a business ever takes legal action, then it is no longer logical for them to seek to avoid legal action being taken against them?
