Breaking news: Stadium size increased (5 Viewers)

I thought they were given a maximum of 5 years to get it built.

Ha ha ha ha, no the FL said ..
As you know the Board has given Coventry City permission to play its matches at Northampton Town for the next three seasons. This term can be extended for two further periods of 12 months, provided the club can demonstrate sufficient progress towards the building of a new stadium in the Coventry area. Should the club not comply with this timeframe, the matter will be considered by The Football League Board at the relevant time with reference to both the permission to relocate and the membership agreement entered into in August 2013. Expulsion from the League would be a realistic outcome at that stage.

So we are really non the wiser as to what 'sufficient progress' entails, it may adequate proof for the FL for some land to be bought and planning permission applied for and refused, then what do they do? Probably extend the permission for another 2 years.

Remember even if land is bought and planning applied for that does not guarantee that a stadium will be built, the only time that becomes near on certainty is when a contract to build it has been awarded to a contractor.

Shame to see the committee getting a bit of stick. I guess I'm only referring to Jim Brown, who I don't know but isn't he the club historian (whether employed or self-titled)? Seems like a decent knowledgeable chap on all things Sky Blue and has seen it all so probably not a bad person to have representing us and knowing what has and hasn't worked in the past.

Also, David Busst? I'm sure it's the same DB whose career (and health) was ruined whilst playing for CCFC?

Not getting any stick from me I'm afraid. The idea of a new stadium and it's legitimacy, yes but not the people representing us.

They're all good people, I think some will moan about anything and there can't have been more than 20 people at the original meeting to pick from, and the sample was obviously self selecting, so there's bound to be people we've heard of. Jim Brown should've been consulted as club historian anyway. I just think that it's a chance to widen the field a little bit and people like Kev Monks, as much respect as I have for him as a fan, has his own website and easy access to relevant players anyway, so I'd question whether it was necessary for him to also have access.

Like I say, nothing against any of the people, it's more that I'd expect them to already be in the loop with the club, so why waste a place on them?

its ironic that we record our lowest home attendance of the season ( and one of the lowest ever city gates ) and then announce an increase in stadium size!

Its called mind games, keep telling people something for long enough and they will eventually believe it...

Serious question : Is there anyone anywhere that gives any credence to this enormous crock of shite ? How they have found 9 people to join the consultative group is beyond me although the fact that 2 randomly have the surname Garlick is surely the single most shocking and unbelievable thing to emerge so far

Can we have a retractable pitch and a roof pls Timmy ?

Headline

new revolutionary balloon construction method for the new near Coventry stadium

- as it fills with hot air the seating expands or contracts at will :thinking about::facepalm::laugh:

I can hear the phrase "we have listened to the fans concerns" coming ..............

It's not a new construction method, it is simply people sitting on laps.

We're missing what is fundamentally important here Tim...
Will it sell Pukka pies or Peter's pies?? Where will the condiments be in relation to the food outlets?

This whole thing gets more ridiculous by the week!!

Breaking news: Our imaginary stadium now has 3,000 more seats. Rejoice!!!

I can live with not knowing when the stadium will be built, or where it will be located but now they are changing how big it will be! It is now a matter of urgency that they dispel doubts by reassuring us on the colour of the seats.

Rejoice I did. In fact I was over come with emotion at the ambition to be a division one and a half team as apposed to just a division one team.

All hail Timmy the saviour.

We know the colour of the seats will not be sky blue as one of the lessons learned from the Ricoh is that the players loose track of team members against the sky blue seats.(Stadium Forum)
Obviously fans need to consider not wearing home shirts at home for the same reason. :thinking about:
You couldn't write this stuff could you
