I don't think there were many,if any, Leicester fans in with you, I'm pointing out that all season tickets are included in every attendance given, whether they turn up or not.
You had 3 corners covered which must be 6k. What was actually available looked to be 50% filled at best.

Each block/section is like 1, 1.5k seats. Hardly 'corners' only corner covered is between tesco and telegraph that's about 1.5k and then about 700-1000 seats covered between block 15 and edge of south stand, then 500 covered if that between you and Lloyds pharmacy.

My thoughts entirely, I'm sure there are many fans who refuse to pay money until sisu have gone for good, and yes I did go (season ticket) before sisu lovers slag me off

I kind of agree too, but there will be a number who use SISU as an excuse, that when they are gone will simply move to another reason not to attend. Again their choice, nobody should be forced to go, but I don't think for one minute that SISU leaving will have anything more than a temporary surge for about three games until general apathy returns. The only thing that will ever get improved and sustained support is on field success and it's a bit chicken and egg.

I wish they'd get the bloody catering sorted out. We went in put our money on our new Season Tickets then found that the coffee/pie place was closed. The only place to get a hot drink was at a Cash Only concession! Christ, they only have to organise themselves every two weeks and they've had three months to prepare for today.

Spot on. Wasn't someone moaning that we needed a "football man" on the board? Well, we had one and people slagged him off constantly while he was here. I wish people would either just go or not go if they prefer, but don't just come on the radio and slag the whole club off week after week. It's bloody boring already and we've only played one game. It could be worse, we could have Richardson on the board and an idiot like Strachan, McAllister or Dowie in charge!

Exactly. SISU are a convenient excuse for part time fans who will always be part time fans.
Either you support Coventry City and commit to that support or you don't.

That's not quite accurate mate. That regime was corrupt. This one may be undesired but that one was the beginning of this mess. The ground was sold and rented back in one of the worst financial decisions ever, but not to fund the new one. That was proposed through lottery funding, council clean up for regeneration and the 2006 world cup bid. The cash was a combination of wasted and pocketed and never came back.

If fans did turn up week in week out would sisu have to fund the loses? Around 26,000 fans can fit in the home end, that's roughly 12-11,000 empty seats in the home end that's are not sold. A few years ago there were probably 5 or 6,000 empty seats. Owners and success aside where have these fans gone? If we near enough filled the home end every game we would be ok, but we can't and that's partly down to the fan base and partly down to the lack of success ! IMO
Lord_Nampil, three cheers - spot on - at last there are a few fans saying what is one of the major reasons why the club is forever in money trouble. If the can't be bothered/part time/lukewarm fans turned up and INVESTED in the club we would begin to be a force again. Coming home from the game yesterday I heard old manager Gordon Milne compare our fanbase with Leicester. Us 15,000 them about 23,000. It adds up and makes a difference. A city the size of Coventry should have a massive fanbase. The ones who do turn up regularly I salute you. The others just continue to make excuses. About time they invested. Some people don't like to hear it, but it's the truth.

The attendance was appalling in my view but does this show the actual level of support for CCFC in the city? If this is the case it was a terrible move to the Ricoh. We just do not have passionate fans in the city apart from 13-14K, you look at all other clubs around us, they get regular support week in week out (Derby, forest and even Leicester). In theory we have no one close to us geographically so we should have a big (ish) pull and i bet even if we were back in the prem, we would only get 22K each week.

Getting back to the crowd,i feel for you guys in away even though i hate you.
Why build a ground in the middle of nowhere,not being funny but i like a pint in a pub before the game as part of the day out,and then walk to the ground and watch the game.
I bet there loads of Cov fans that don't go to the game because of the location,and when the plans were put in for the new ground, were you asked if you were happy with the move? i know i would not of been.
I would prefer the old ground at the new location
