Sounds alright to me.
It seems like a neutral, reasonable request that could actually be put to the council.
Give us the Ricoh in trust. Then sell half of ACL to Sisu.
Sounds alright to me.
What fucking pressure do you want applied to the CCC with regard to the Ricoh then? Do you want them to say right Sisu it is for sale, then what, being as they have an obligation to get the best possible price for it, do you see Sisu/Otium making an offer because if that was the case then why haven't they done it already?
You want to pressure someone then it needs to be applied to Sisu/Otium to get their thumbs out of their arseholes and get moving on upto date valuations and making offers. Then pressure can be applied to CCC to either accepting said offer or refusing and therefore we can get on with building a new stadium.
This 'new' idea isn't going to bring about anything but take the focus away from the important local Coventry issues affecting local Coventry people. I am sorry if me not seeing this as the most important thing in Coventry bothers people (who live outside and therefore couldn't give two fucks about important things like education, welfare, social, transport etc in our City) but if this does detract from the real important issues in Coventry and affects them in some way then I hope whoever is behind this is happy with themselves.
Oddly enough, from what I've read from him on here he seems to detest councils but is employed by one. Very strange.
Ah, an old "friend", maybe? Where have I said since you joined that I worked for a council? And I don't detest councils. I'm just not in love with them.
You don't have to be a member of this forum to view the posts everyday.
already done more for CCFC than sky blue trust ever have
well done.
So who on here, who lives in Coventry and is eligable to vote, would vote for Get Cov Back to the Ricoh based on the information currently available?
Will be interesting to see as you would expect people on a CCFC forum to be the most likley to vote for them!
Isnt all this a waste of time considering SISU are not interested in the Ricoh and they have moved on? They have said this constantly since the move to Sixfields. Even if they was interested would they put in a serious bid which is fair for us taxpayers? As a CCFC fan and taxpayer I do not want the Ricoh sold under what its worth.
Yeah, a poll would genuinely be interesting. An option for "do not live in Coventry" would be good to gauge how many of us live elsewhere.
Yoink. Just got back from that London and a lot to wade through but I'll pick up on this as it's near the end of 100+ posts
It would have to be independent valuations and proper negotiations and certainly not given away.
We need to remember that the city is losing millions per year by not having the club (and other big events) playing there too and it is the Council's responsibility to support the local economy. When I go to Cov games (usually with the London Supporters) we'd arrive early via train, go to the Whitefriars for a few *ahem* drinks and some food then hail a few black cabs to go up to the Ricoh. Ticket, food, drinks etc. at the ground, maybe a visit to the casino bar afterwards, a pub in town and then an evening train home. All of that money times many thousand, plus all the away fans spending is being lost every home game.
Cardiff Uni Business School had a report on Swansea City's value to Swansea now they are in the Premier League and they came out with a figure of £58m per year. This is what any city should be looking at with their football team and now that the attempt to force an ownership change has failed, we need to look at how the club can come back and contribute to the city again.
But no giveaway. Proper valuations.

There is a way with the forum software I "think" to have a user map so if you put where you live in, it shows it on a fancy map.
The only thing is that people may turn up at your house....
Michael. Pressure should be put on both sides not just SISU. With our current situation, percentage of blame and constant "he said, she said" won't get us anywhere. A lot of pride needs to be swallowed on both sides and in my opinion (and just mine) ACL aren't likely to try too hard if they feel they have the moral high ground. An attitude of "let them come to us" isn't helpful.
ACL should also be encouraged to pick up the phone and speak directly to the club and not use the FL as an intermediary. And I don't agree that pressure should only be applied to ACL if they are "obstructive". From the start you are taking sides and halving your chance of success. Really it's not difficult to see why the Club isn't on best terms with your group.
Torch, to break it down a bit which of the following would you agree/disagree with: most fans want us back at the Ricoh asap; comments from players like Wilson make it clear they want to be back at the Ricoh too; the last offer made by ACL was shown by Clive Eakin to be financially beneficial to the club compared with being at NTFC; so it would be good for fans, players and club finances to return to the ricoh even on a short-term rental deal; the sides could then take as long as needed for a long-term agreement without the damage being done by being at NTFC; the process is therefore for sisu to say we will return on the basis of the last ACL offer; if ACL then renege on that deal all fire is aimed at them.
Maybe the council shoulder some of the blame as they were not there to defend themselves. That is why I said I will wait for the JR to decide what has gone on. All we have against CCC is parts of a few emails. And no defence. It isn't as though SISU has been truthful to us.
But still happy to blame sisu? I don't think either side has been truthful in all of this have they?
So what have I blamed SISU for that isn't undoubtedly true? Or if asked for an opinion I give it but don't try to make out that it is a fact.
There is doubt about them parts of the emails. So I won't be after hanging CCC yet. It looks like on here you must have one opinion or you are wrong.

This seems to be a lot of effort if you haven't already got confirmation from SISU that they would be interested in paying a proper price for the Ricoh, and presumably ACL.
Have you made any enquiries of SISU? Have you asked Higgs if they are willing to sell their shares?
Yes you are right about the last bit 90% majority and all that.
Or the fact that they are building a 'new stadium'
But that 10% certainly make half the noise and a fair few pounce on anything that could be good for SISU. They would have a great time if ACL/CCC were shown to be as untruthful as SISU as they can make a lot out of not a lot.

Rubbish! They are simply capable of a balanced view.
