18 months ago there were none, now after SISU have shown they are willing to cause massive damage to the club with the exceptionally illogical (in terms of ccfc's interests) and willing to lie and mislead everyone, any solution that ends with them staying in charge of the club is an unacceptable solution, I just can't bring myself to support a club owned and run for the benefit of these villains.

Thing is, it wasn't the club/SISU who refused to discuss mediation or a three year run-off clause in a rental deal when this all blew up. What's done is done, however, and we are where we are and all that jizz.

We're also not going to get anywhere by raking up the past. That includes SISU raking up the great ills done to them - the only way we move forward is if we ask the question 'how can this be resolved?'

What I want to know is what reasons exist that make the current situation better than attempting resolution?

Because it will stop us all moaning and might mean we have to stop hating *Sisu/ACL and life would be a bit more boring without having conspiracies to share and having people to blame for everything.

*delete as appropriate.

I think that the only way it would be of any real benefit was if it was binding arbitration.

Thing is, I'm not sure that either side would go for that.

Personally, I've always liked pendulum arbitration - each side puts in their price and the arbitrator has to go for one or the other. Stops stupidly low (by the buyer) or high (by the seller) prices being submitted.

And the only reason they wouldn't, surely, is if there was some reason why an independently judged resolution was not to their benefit.

In which case, such a call would see who wants 'fair' and who doesn't... wouldn't it?

And *we* all want fair... don't we?

Start with a short term rent agreement at cost so both sides show commitment to the process and leaving bygones as bygones... and the rent to continue as long as the arbitration process takes to reach a resolution.

So why are we wasting our time on hate, when we could be wasting a time pushing for a 'fair' solution?

I think if arbitration brings come conclusion to this mess then why not try it. I would assume the parties against arbitration would believe they stood the most to lose.

Arbitrate on what?

I thought SISU were building?

I didn't know ACL were selling?

Did I miss something ?

If there were some kind of movement on this and bids/valuations were done by each side, you can guarantee SISU will value too low, ACL will value too high. So an independent valuation would be beneficial.

Either that or we take a 'wisdom of the crowds' approach. Every single fan give their own valuation and we take the mean value from all the fans valuation.

Binding arbitration doesn't, incidentally, mean the inevitable conclusion is that Higgs/CCC sell ACL to SISU...

Because this a war, and I don't believe either CCC/ACL have any real interest in now trying to do a deal with SISU. They don't like them and more importantly they don't trust them, that ship has sailed. They will surely know a new ground is a pipe dream, thus they hold the whip hand. ACL just have to wait, and that is what they seem happy to do. The ball is in SISU's court, they're the ones facing huge outgoings if they proceed with the madness of a new ground

You don't want a positive, constructive solution that sees the football club return to the Ricoh?

The trouble is Norman, it's like dealing with a girl who says I don't want to go out with Bert and Bert won't ask her out in the first place. We're all in the pub saying how we want them to be together and she's said she fancies Dave the barman. Waste of time and effort until the girl and Bert talk to each other. Getting the bouncer on the door to make them talk isn't going to make it happen!!!!!!!

In which case it would make absolute sense for SISU to get behind a push for such a way forward, as it would justify the spouting off they'd be doing, and demonstrate it was indeed ACL/CCC who were being obstructive and not looking for a solution.

Until we have such a call, however, we have just words, where both sides claim to want resolution, but it's the nasty evil other 'side' who don't want it, honest guv.

Yep let's have full disclosure on:
1. Valuation
2. Club owners/investors
3. Inter company dealings between Sisu, otium, ccfc holdings & ltd.
4. New stadium
5. What was discussed by council behind closed doors before agreeing to the ACL loan

Sometimes a mutual friend needs to introduce girl and Bert, and once they've done so they find they have lots in common after all.

Maybe after the blind date, Fisher and Lucas might be ripping each others' clothes off and forming a life partnership.

Officially the worst analogy I've ever devised !!!;)

I have said this in the past and I will once more, we need someone unbiased who can mediate this situation, someone who can distinguish all the facts and who can achieve sensible negotiations from it.

There is no possible outcome from independent arbitration that SISU would want so they will not agree to it. No arbitrator could give them the Ricoh. The other side of the JR should they lose it however, it may be admin or make a deal.

Not trying to be pro or anti anyone, but don't SISU only want to buy, and nobody has said it's for sale? I also thought that they'd said they'd moved on and were progressing with plans for new stadium. I know we all think that's daft, but supposedly true? In a perverse way, though I despise our owners tactics, if they really only have a Plan A (buy the Ricoh) and they can't get ACL to sell it for 'a very low price', then I understand their tactics. But as a fan and the effect on our team and supporters it P*sses me off?!

I was discussing with a few city fans last night both Sixfield virgins (that expression is especially for Grendel) but I think SISU can play a trump card by bringing the club back to Cov on a 5 year lease but winning more public support by asking for independent arbitration etc.. Nothing to hide etc.. but I think they are hoping the JR achieves their goals but they could reduce so much hostility and potentially win over fans by returning the club. I won't budge from my opinion that Sixfields objective is to hold the club hostage as part of a SISU negotiating tactic or to distress ACL / embarrass the council - at the clubs / fan's expense - irrespective of the JR outcomes or the value of ACL.

Nail on head. Just a waiting game now.

What is there to arbitrate?

Arbitration makes about as much sense as suggesting a marriage counsellor for a couple who obviously hate each other. One partner is now only interested in one-night stands and the other partner is going to announce who their new spouse is in three weeks.

You keep posting this stuff bigging up SISU's position, yet offer no evidence to support your views. Put up or shut up please.

Let's see, shall we?

Potential deals could indeed include the club buying ACL. They could also include a long term rental deal, or some other deal. All 'sides' claim to want a deal for the benefit of the football club, so let's see who's afraid of putting that statement to the test.

Words are empty, action less so.

ACL don't want to sell to SISU. Who could blame them after their efforts so far?

SISU don't want to pay anywhere near it's value. We also need to remember that the arena is much more than the football bowl. By the sound of it Joy also wants the surrounding land.
