So CBRE value ACL at 19.5m with the full lease and licence, at 8.4m with a rent of £200k and 6.5m with no rent at all.

January 2013 CCFC still had the original lease & licence in place.

Loan to value for the council should be 75%. Loan made was 14.4m which puts the value of ACL at £19.5m.

But according to SISU QC that over values ACL by 15m so they believe the value was 4.5m. Which is actually below CBRE's lowest value. But told charity it was worthless but prepared to pay £2m

none of this seems to join up

my thoughts exactly can't see where this is going

Are you surprised that this doesn't join up? I'm not.

I tell you what this shows. Sisu have no idea what they are doing and have been trumped on every dick dastardly move they try to make.

As the judge pointed out...what has any of this got to do with state aid?

and a ukip jpeg sent to me via pm isnt racism?

Press report on it then, otherwise stop talking rubbish and throwing the race card about every 5 minutes, it is boring and pointless as I am pretty sure 99% of people don't know your race (I know I don't).

Early start down the pub?

I think to be honest mate, most people didn't see what you did other than hold a protest against the council when the majority felt the ball wasn't in their court.

You claim you're the only one pressuring all sides, but I know for a fact that's bollocks as the Trust have been doing it since day 1, until the club stopped talking to them.
Didn't say that. No idea what you're talking about.

You also hide your links to Reid, and by association Sisu,
Woah there. What are you implying? Or are you one of the idiots who prefer your journalists to purely reflect your own limited knowledge and received wisdom rather than have someone who will challenge all sides and bring out new information? Have you forgotten all of the NOPM actions based on Les's reporting? The 'anti-Sisu' stories that forced Fisher & the Football League to admit errors & wrong-doing in accounts?

Links to Reid? I've known the guy for years and have made no secret of the fact. He's a sound bloke and a top notch, award-winning journalist. Maybe your own bitterness is driven by the irrational animosity former labour council leader, John Fletcher has for Mr Reid?

And that's before today's antics on this thread towards OSB.
Who still remains totally anonymous. Nothing wrong with me challenging his anonymity. Nice to see you being super-sensitive on behalf of another poster tho'.

The one thing that makes GCBTTR stand out from KCIC and SBT is the complete lack of transparency, the lack of fan engagement and the one sided protesting.

Can you really blame people if they don't think you're 100% balanced (in both senses of the word)? The weak claim of "Oh I'm filling gaps in the market" was never going to wash.
It's a very strong claim and the fact that someone who subscribes to the GW Bush mantra of 'you're either with us or against us' sees it as weak actually strengthens it as far as I'm concerned. All sides are responsible for getting us into, and now out of this mess.

I'm sure you're a good bloke who's just taken his mate's word for a few things and been a willing pair of ears for some others, but surely you can see the mistakes you made if the aim was to move things forward? Or did you genuinely think more secrecy and division was the answer?
Ah yes. The guy who doesn't want to meet with anyone on the 'wrong side' is happy to accuse others of being to easily led and too stupid to put evidence together. *yawn*

We can easily work this out – fancy a beer?

To save me looking through the last 10 odd pages that I've missed while working, has sisu's QC finished? Is it CCC's turn tomorrow?

Sisu QC finished. Sisu will get another chance tomorrow morning to produce the smoking gun. CCC QC tomorrow afternoon and Thursday.

I have not seen the full transcript of today and obviously there is more to come tomorrow but I can't help thinking surely there is more than this (I would guess I am not alone in that thought either)

I assume today was just scene setting for the main points to be made in the morning.

Falsely accusing someone of racism is such a funny joke-you are obviously the King of Comedy.
I'll let everyone make their own judgement as to who looks the fool.

Judge....

“ACL were in a commercial mess because the football club had not been paying the rent and licence fees it was bound legally to pay. It was trying to find a way out of that commercial mess.”

Judge says one of those ways was a deal with Sisu, one a deal with Yorkshire Bank and ACL was exploring both.

Even if he now decides in SISU's favour he now does not have to suggest any remedy as SISU are partly culpable for the wrong decision by the council.

I will wait until the judgement on Thursday maybe there is no smoking gun just enough to win the case for SISU but still not sure that a distressed ACL looking for new lines of credit will benefit SISU.

Some people on here have to relax their ego a bit, it gets boring.

Rob S SISU getting hold of the freehold is unlikely the leasehold possibly but why you think that would benefit the club is a bit naive, they would just replace ACL with another onerous lease but rather than local charity or the council benefiting it would be a hedge fund and we would be back to where we were in 2005. Yes the rent was unsustainable but IMO that isexactly what SISU want but they will be the primary leaseholders and they can dispose of the club and benefit from this guaranteed income stream.

The judge added: "There were two commercial courses being pursued and it may have been necessary to keep one confidential from the other," before asking Sisu's QC: "are you saying there is anything wrong in that?"

"Yes," he replied. "The club was being funded when the council had no commitment to the project at all."

So they saying it was all about the stadium and not the football club. SISU you had bought the club and had taken the responsibility to run it and fund it. That's what most football club owners do when they buy a football club? They invest in it.

What has this to do with the CCC?? they did not force SISU to buy the club and what agreement was there? This statement is just ridiculous!!!

When this bombshell gets dropped tomorrow can someone in the public gallery play the dum da dum dum music that was used in the film dragnet. Someone needs to bring some entertainment to these proceedings.

The main thing you have missed is City fans falling out on the forum as normal. So in respect you have missed very little, same as the Court case really.

Come of it, he is no better or worse than the trust - saying a pressure group run by an ex council leader is unbiased and transparent is laughable. The club stopped talking to the trust when is behaved like giddy schoolkids around haskell. They HAVE repaired some of this under their new leadership but are far from "transparent"
And when did talking to Reid become a thoughtcrime then? What has he actually done that winds you all up so much?

Who elected Rob?

Where are the minutes of GCBTRR's meetings?

Where are the open meetings?

Cmon dude, you can have a lot of complaints about the Trust, but lack of transparency and fan engagement isn't one if them. You can make all the insinuations you like about my Dad, but the fact is he's a City fan first and was asked to help out considering his experience. Would you turn it down?

Talking to Reid isn't a thought crime, but Reid stuck his flag clearly in the Sisu camp early on, and the anti-council camp even earlier. I just find the whole "We're 'independent'" (implying others aren't) crap laughable.

Like I say, I'm sure Rob's a lovely bloke (well, I was until this thread ;)) and a City fan at heart, but he really can't complain if people get the wrong impression about his group considering the actions they've taken and the company they keep. If that's a good enough reason for Rob to throw allegations and rumours about about others, why not him?

But overall, my point was: did we really need another fans' group? What has been achieved other than a bit more division? Which I'm sure wasn't his aim, though I suspect it may have been the aim of a few who have his ear.

Not racism. Just a criticism of your understanding and use of the English language.

Oh, and another case of you completely missing Danceswithhorses' point.

So is it Danceswithhorses or Danceswithhorses'? as one of you is wrong, which is slightly ironic when it was a post based on insulting someones English.

I dont know which is correct but then I am not so hung up on peoples spelling and comprehension on an internet forum.

Am I missing the part today where the Sisu qc explained how the loan was illegal ?
Because they are doing this for the tax payers of Coventry I just thought it would get a mention !!
If this is not the case and they are just trying to set up an opportunity to sue the council. Can someone please tell me how taking money off the council works with Sisu's claim of helping the tax payer ?

I'm looking forward to tomorrow, am I sad ?

just means one day after that and it should be all over, bar the appeal

Don't forget the tears...whether they be SISU's or ACL's or CCC - there will definitely be fans tears as in one way or another it'll hurt fans of our beloved club far more than any of the other protagonists involved

"Yes," he replied. "The club was being funded when the council had no commitment to the project at all."

What is this "project" he's referring to? If he means CCFC then surely that belongs to SISU and its up to them to fun/run it? I don't understand why, if it is CCFC, the council should have any reason or responsibility to fund it.

'The judge interrupted him to ask if it mattered, saying: "Does it affect the issue of state aid?"'

Has anything we have heard today any bearing on the issue of state aid? It comes across as one big whinging session from SISU blaming everybody else for their own inability to strike a deal with other parties.

Again, and I must be thick, because I can't see why all this whinging and talking about ACL's value has any bearing on the issue of state aid. If CCC were out of order, does it matter how much they paid? I would have thought that if YB were owed X amount of money, they want that money to be paid, regardless of the worth of the product. If I'd had a mortgage before the bubble burst and I was in negative equity, the Halifax wouldn't allow me to re-mortgage to the current value of the house and let me off the difference surely?

.....
And when did talking to Reid become a thoughtcrime then? What has he actually done that winds you all up so much?

Not a crime at all, but many people believe Les lost his impartiality once he'd interviewed Joy ... his "reports" after that did seem to change from reporting facts to offering opinions which favored SISU's point of view.

Saving their best until last so the "other lot" don't have an overnight counter argument prepared?

If the stuff coming out pre-JR is anything to go by, the "Smoking gun" is that members of the council didn't like Sisu. It seems the judge isn't much moved by that argument so far. AFAICT the financials stack up if you consider that at the time of the loan CCFC had a 40 year lease left to run. Not talking about ifs and buts but presentable evidence, it's reasonable to assume that everyone thought CCFC Ltd were the club at the time and therefore there was no way out the lease.

I'm still not seeing how this adds up to state aid to be honest.

I gave up reading at page 41 as it had descended into who's the biggest rent boy.

Any place I should bother picking it up again from?!?
