I think it's understandable that SISU won't arrange a meeting until full details of the offer have been disclosed... but equally expecting full details of the offer to be disclose in a phone call are unrealistic..

still a long way to go but the "Just say yes SISU" is getting on my tits TBH both sides can shove the spin up their.....

.................jumper?

If there is such a lack of trust at the beginning of a process I cannot see how any arrangement can ever be discussed let alone agreed.

This is ridiculous.

I have decided to express myself purely in GIF this morning, words don't do it justice.

I find it strange that a few weeks ago when the 'secret meetings' became public knowledge we were told ML would happily meet anyone but now he seems unable to find time to meet on something like this. I believe Michael has been to London numerous times for protests so ML not being in Coventry isn't really an issue as I would imagine Michael would travel to London to meet him.

Personally I can understand why Michael wants to meet face to face, there's less room for misinterpretation. After all there is a track record in this whole saga of one side saying something, the other side saying they were never told that etc. Not to mention the occasions ML has claimed to have been misquoted or misunderstood.

Surely its not too difficult for ML to find a spare hour or two to meet, he's got the date from the postponed forum for a start.

Have they said they won't meet at all or just they want a quick call first off leading on to a meeting?

If this does come off then what happens when somebody phones Michael with an issue or question even we are back?

Don't they just want a quick chat before arranging a meeting to see whether it is worth while?
Couldn't the fact that you are making statements and stuff also be seen as tit for tat?

From the other side, maybe they are worried about the bcc thing happening again??

Not that I expect a reply or anything.

for heavens sake stop sticking up for SISU

Frankly if I call someone and they can't be arsed to even take the call that's it for me. What's their to actually be frightened of?

I can't believe people are swallowing this rubbish. Its like a pantomime.

Why not speak initially though?

Email not foolproof either, could be, "Oh, I didn't receive that, must have gone in my junk-mail folder" or something.

Quick phone call, confirm any meeting arranged or whatever by email, Bobs your uncle.

Really don't see what the problem is if really serious about it.

That's how most things are done isn't it, quick chat and an email invitation to confirm / remind.

It would only be 2 minutes to spare to answer a phone call and arrange a meeting.

Waiting for an email to confirm time and place for a meeting first?

Surely say over the phone when is convenient for all, then formalise it, pretty much like everybody else does.

Has anybody tried to get into detail on a phone call ?
Detail is always missed or misunderstood.
Kcic have sent an email of the high level detail and requesting a meeting to discuss.
SISU could just request any further details in a return email but instead want to do it on a phone call. Make the call or answer the call to discuss the meeting but don't try to discuss details on the phone.

That's news then, so sisu have had all of the information in an email like costings and loads of details? That changes things a bit I guess.

I wasn't aware they'd even had any details - are you part of the kcic team?

I suppose its whether the phone call is going to be about arranging a meeting or not. I see Michael's point about emailing, but a phone call isn't going to hurt.

Having said that, ML had no issues with emailing me back and forth so what is the issue with that?

Those who refuse to accept it is sisu who decided to move us to Northampton, have promised a new stadium but not even bought any land, and with one ‘phone call could have us back at the Ricoh for the rest of the season not playing 35 miles away in front of record low crowds

FFS Michael, take the call, spend 60 seconds arranging a meeting or whatever. And stop the fucking statements. Jesus.

EDIT: FYI, the emboldened text was already there, not done anything for emphasis.

Its hardly likely there are going to e mail now are they? Michaels all but admitted he will publish what's said if there ends up being a disagreement down the line.

Okay, here it is: my offer of assistance! Unlike Grendel, I'm not great on the phone, but I think I can write a rather decent email! So, my suggestion is that ML gets in touch with Grendel to arrange details of a meeting; Grendel then PMs me with the details; I then email these details to Michael; he can then discuss this with his backers and accept the time and date, or suggest a different date and/or time; Michael can then email me back with the response; I will PM Grendel with the response; Grendel can call ML and advise him of the response; if the date/time was confirmed okay by Michael then the meeting can go ahead, but if a different date and/or time has been suggested then ML will have to respond to this; ML will call Grendel and give him the response; Grendel can PM me with the response; I will email Michael with the response; if the response is an acceptance of the date/time suggested by Michael then nothing else needs to be done, but if it's to suggest an alternative date and/or time then Michael can discuss this with his backers; Michael can then email me his response; I will PM Grendel with the response; Grendel can call ML with the response; and so on and so forth until we get a meeting sorted!!!

I think this is the only sensible solution to this problem!!!

Just email dates when you are available, and suggest an appointment is set up via Outlook. Phone them up first if you like to say that this what you intend to do, as the email doesn't just drop out of the sky. Put a read reciept on the email so you know it's been opened. Any details on the offer shouldn't be discussed over the phone. A prelimnary meeting should happen first to see if anything further can be discussed in any detail. This meeting won't take long, and starts an open dialogue from the outset.

I have worked on partnerhsip projects for years, and this is pretty much how it happens most of the time - Let group members know what is happening at your end, the other parties will do the same (in writing), and agree an initial agenda with the participants... although I may be shit at my job of course!

Edit: meeting is minuted, but these remain confidential between attendees. Nothing to stop a press release, but only if the contents of this are agreed by all (that's if you can get that far of course).

You've really achieved something by getting SISU to potentially talk to you and now you're fucking about. Just take the call and arrange something. Unbelievable (or maybe not) that Tony, Jack et al are blowing a gasket over all this. If it means we get back to the Ricoh who cares if the initial contact is by phone, email or fucking carrier pigeon?

This really doesn't need to be complicated Michael. For once, show some professionalism, cut out the ridiculous statements, accept the call and let's all move on. I thought it was only SISU who were blighted by pride and self importance.

Well while we're all throwing our hat into the ring. When I lead pan-European projects in a former life, usually we kicked off with a meeting, then regular emails and scheduled meetings.

However when I was teaching in Dudley last year, we got a small child to run a paper memo that was then copied out in triplicate and filed by a lady called Gladys every other Wednesday.

Personally, I run group projects through some form of online platform like BaseCamp.

When I was 13, I spoke to my close friends only in backslang to avoid others interpreting what we were saying, maybe this would be acceptable to ML/MO? I'm happy to provide translation services.

Tell you what, I'll get my 8 year old to broker a deal with the help of the rest of his class.

It is the "initial contact" bit that I was focussing on Torch. I share the frustration, but agree with others that the details shouldn't be discussed on a phone call.

Labobitch has begun to rile me on a different level to even Fisher. He is the most indecisive, slimy deceitful c**t involved in the entire situation. When has he ever backed up his actions? It's rare that he speaks without slating The Council, ACL or previous owners.

There is no-one trustworthy enough within Scrotium to hold these talks with. I wonder why they wish to do so over the phone only hmmmm....make sure the conversation is recorded Michael!

I just cannot comprehend the actions of these wankers. Just when you thought they had stopped to the lowest of the low

I agree. However, Tony and Jack are just stoking the ego with the "yeah, email is the way to go in the 21st Century, etc etc". I'll bet my left nut that if it was ML saying he wanted to email then they'd both be bleating that a phone call is what was needed. It's fucking stupid. If Michael is refusing calls then what level of professionalism does that show? After days of refusing to answer simple questions on the deal it's a poor show all round, it really is.

If its a phone call to arrange a meeting then that can easily done by phone or email. If I phone someone to arrange a meeting and they don't answer I just ping them an email with possible dates / times and ask them to pick one, not sure why that is so difficult for ML.

The impression I got, and I may be wrong, is that ML wanted a discussion about the offer over the phone rather than in person.
