“Remembering Lesley” Saturday 13 September 2014
Ricoh Arena 2.30pm – 11.00pm
I am writing to you on behalf of Wayne “Shanks” Bates and his children. Wayne’s wife Lesley passed away last September after a tragic battle against cancer.
The family would like to do something to commemorate Lesley’s remarkable life. They would like to run an event at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday 13 September to raise funds for cancer charities (Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Nurses and Marie Curie). Wayne is well known in the local area as a footballer, football coach, owner of “Headcase” barbers and resident DJ at Carey’s nightclub in Coventry. Wayne and Lesley’s three children have all followed in their footsteps and involved in sport at a high level.
Please view this link from the Coventry Evening Telegraph:

There will be raffle prizes and a Charity auction. We plan to have around 1000 people during the afternoon. We are limited to 900 for the evening event.

We CAN kick off the new season back at the Ricoh -
The only thing stopping that happening is JOY SEPPALA
The truth about Seppala’s sisu and how they operate has been laid bare in Mr Justice Hickinbottom's JR verdict
- This is not a dispute between two parties - sisu went on a rent strike
- sisu’s strategy of distressing acl’s financial position is quite deliberate
- sisu chose to leave the Ricoh to distress acl – sisu were not forced out
- sisu’s aim has been to distress acl so as to get at least a 50% share of the Ricoh at a knock down price
(Full JR verdict is at:www.coventrytelegraph.net/incoming/article7346847.ece/binary/Judicial%20Review%20High%20Court%20verdict)
kcic’s rent offer remains on the table
- We were bitterly disappointed Fisher dismissed the offer, without even meeting to discuss it
- We are bewildered and exasperated by Seppala’s position
- Our offer is based on paying Ricoh rent and match day costs for up to 3 years - what could be more straightforward, simpler and reasonable than that?
- Fisher and Labovitch now have little credibility among the overwhelming majority of fans but we have made clear we can sit down with Seppala and go through all the details of the offer
What’s next? “Shout, sing, jeer and chant” say the Sky Blue Trust!
- March and rally Saturday 12 July
- Meet at Gosford Green 11.00am
- March sets off 12.00 noon
- Rally in Broadgate
