This thread is misleading, 8 pages and I still can't find what city's official statement on offal is? Offal pies from now on perhaps? The suspense is too much!

Is this what sisu did when they took over, oh no they did'nt did they, they waited until half an hour before we went into admin, and played on the fact that those owed money would realise they were going to lose either way, so they may as well accept sisu and save the club the ten point loss admin would bring. They are leeches who could smell blood and went for the jugular, i hope they go bust and end up penniless as money is all they are interested in.
I totally agree, Hoffman is just playing, If we have a debt and he has multi-million pound investors to invest in ccfc, why don't they pay half what is owed to sisu, and then give them the rest when we get promotion to the premiershp.

A mild observation - it is not SISU who have brought the club to its knees. It was already on its knees when they took over. Years of mismanagement beforehand had brought it to that state.

Anyone involved in those years of mismanagement is responsible for the current predicament. Who was around then?

Where SISU are at fault is that they thought they could make some money out of the club. They had zero experience of football, they saw the riches of the premier league and were greedy enough to believe RR. They should have looked at all the other clubs going bust before they dived in.

But SISU are not going to go bust. CCFC is just one of their investments. I imagine it is an albatros around the neck of the entire enterprise. They are desperate to get out but why any CCFC supporter should welcome someone coming along and trying to get the club for nothing I do not know. Any one of us could do that. We do not need to have mysterious smoke and mirrors backers.

SISU could just close the club down. They don't have to go into receivership or administration or any of those convenient financial loopholes that crush creditors.

CCFC would no longer exist.

By all means carry out a protest but think what you are protesting about. Are you protesting that SISU are paying out £250K a month or £3m a year just to provide employment for a few mediocre players and a chance for 12000 people to spend a miserable afternoon every fortnight?

Do you know with any certaincy there is no money for loan players?
I think there is, but it takes time to make it happen for various reasons. I guess we will draft in 2 or three after the shop window closes. Hopefully before the first game after the international break.

If they had the money for loan players why have they not done it yet !!!

Im struggling to get my head around anyone who believes Sisu, i mean there track record about being honesty is very bad. Have we all forgot the lies about the Council meetings? Transfer Embargo? Remorgaging Training ground? Franchise Player? Bank Loans? and hiding behind the fa rules to sign any incoming players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. And the best we are now going to be transparent!!!!!!!!!

I have heard it all and heard enough so who is telling the truth i dont care,,, because the only fact is after 31/2 years they are losing 500.000 a month... So Admin with them or Admin without them is the only way we are going to end up because for a fact SISU do not know how to run a football club either in good times or bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Sisu go it wouldn't be admin, it would be liquidation. In simple terms, Coventry City football club will no longer exsist

TO be honest, I think Hoffman and SISU are as bad as each other.

Ok dave a couple of mild mannered replies, yes the club was on it's knees when sisu took over, if it had'nt been they would'nt have taken over. Where i disagree with you is blaming those before for the current predicament, they were to blame for the situation when sisu took over, but sisu are responsible for the current predicament. Secondly we welcomed sisu when they got the club for nothing, i'd kind of find it ironic if the same happened to them. They could just close the club down but they could do that at the end of the season anyway and yes the name Coventry City football club would be lost to history, but do you know what sisu's biggest mistake is, it's not understanding the passion of football fans, Coventry city would return under a different name as long as there are enough people who care and are passionate enough to make it happen, i believe there are.

So you'd take a 10 point penalty, drop a division. And on what basis would someone come in for us? Huge risk we can't afford to take IMO.

And how does this differ to the end result with sisu in control? ( apart from theirs being a death by a thousand cuts)

Oooh because Joey poos has come out on the radio? Get real mate, both are full of shit. Sisu are our owners,
Without them there would be no CCFC. Deal with it.

Joey poos. Oh dear, you're gonna feel silly when you re-read that, Hibberty Wibberty!!!

Torchy how can you take this quote serious if its not someone wumming !! then they must just be thick !!!!

Coventry's survival would otherwise be based on the hypothetical arrival of saviours who'd be taking over a club in FAR worse shape and a much less attractive prospect than it is even now, which is little more than hope unless someone knows of some opportunistic money-men hiding in the shadows.

It's unfortunate that you're replying to this person with wanker signs, calling him thick and alleging he's some kind of wind-up from another club when you appear to show little awareness in the first place.

Have you accused him of being on the SISU board yet? That's all you've missed out while running this gamut.

Has Ken had his meeting with the council yet?

It's the longest wait til "Friday" I've ever known...he's still talking about it now!!!

Sorry, but I don't believe what he says!

Delighted that Hoffman is shown up as the 'hot air' speaker that i knew anyway, not happy we havent got anyone who legitmately wants to buy the club. I dont trust SISU but i trust them more than Hoffman and his merry band of bottom lickers. He still hasnt formulated a single offer that is within the rules and yet sends his puppets 'lord' elliott and 'mysoginist' keys to be his spokespeople. He clearly hasnt got the money necessary to buy the club and the stadium and instead wants to force the club into administration so he can get them in exactly the same way as SISU got us originally, by using his power within the telegraph to post rubbish and stir fans opinions based on no actual information. If he does get the club i for one wouldnt be happy and would, even though its to the detriment of my club, want him to fail so all you blinkered lapdogs can see him for what he really is.

OK, how about the "Le Fondre Second Bid Refusal" thread, where conspiracy theories were abound that CCFC didn't really intend to buy ALF and were just doing it for show. Now that is a stupid thread!!

Feel free to report stupid threads and they will be dealt with!

Is this one actually a City fan? I mean, I'm always amazed at how much some of our fans revel in misery but this just takes the biscuit.

Some of you people are hard to believe. This is an extremely well respected businessman who supports our club as we do.

SISU have time and time again proven to be liars with bullshit such as "we're meeting with the council on Friday about the stadium" and "this summer's transfer budget will be the same as last year's".

You are basing your scathing assessment of Hoffman on SISU's lies and you need to wise up.

SISU paid £1 for this club - exactly what Hoff's backers are yet some of you think that's unacceptable.

Bizarre.

It isn't really that stupid with the track record that SISU have so far. Nothing sounds too OTT :(

Johnny - I am not sure how we are in a worse position today than we were when SISU took over. The club was within minutes of administration then and it would be in administration now if SISU weren't continuing to cover running costs.

I agree entirely about SISU not understanding fans or football and I was quite vociferous at the time about the prospect of no good coming out of their involvement - albeit on another well known site. It gives me no pleasure that my predictions came true. I thought then that Coventry fans had had enough shit for one group of people to take but we have since had to endure several years of more.

I just do not believe that GH is going to be a saviour. I do not know the man - apparently he is a well respected businessman - just like Robert Maxwell and Rupert Murdoch. But just because he is trying to do to SISU what SISU did to the previous board/shareholders does not make me any happier.

What would GH have to do to make you happier then?

I'm not trying to be funny, I just want to understand what some people have against him.

I have nothing against him at all. I am just puzzled by the cack handed manner of the take-over bid.

He and his backers seem to be spending more time trying to win over the fans than putting together an effective bid.

He doesn't need to win over the fans but he does need to win over the council if he ever hopes to get a foothold in the Ricoh which is what it is all really about, and I can't see them being impressed at the moment.

Chief Commentator!
The press suggest hes not working behind the scenes!

I have every confidence in him. For someone to say they'd go anywhere anytime on order to try and get some serious investment, he seems like he onpy has one goal.

The only concern i have is that their attention seems to surround the stadium! Id hate for them to come in with all these promises and then only one have one intention and that be away from the playing side (sound familiar????).

I understand its vital the club owns the stadium, but only once we have a team worthy of playing in it first imo!

davebart I can't believe you are comparing GH with Robert Maxwell everyone thought he was a crook before he got caught stealing the pensions, it was proved & he committed suicide (in my opinion).
Murdoch on the other hand is a very successful buisinessman, but GH isn't, he is a sucessful banker, it isn't quite the same in my mind as bankers don't run businesses, they just make money from the interest on what they have lent.

I guess I can agree that essentially the the club isn't in a worse state than 3 years ago, stillup shit creek without a paddle. :)

I thought we had already been over this? And it turned out to be a case of the "he said, she said". An official statement on the website means nothing, just like a verbal agreement to sign a contract on the site meant nothing.
