It would actually be more like 500k but point taken.

At this stage of the season and WITH the Football League soon to discuss us, please can I request no more references to 'point taken' (especially 10):facepalm:

So you would negotiate with your previous lodger who owed you money for renting a room in your house whilst he is taking you to court in an attempt to get your house because you remortgaged. I admire your forgiving nature.

The analogy doesn't really stack up though and we cannot really reduce this to a residential landlord/tenant dispute for reasons that are obvious.

Also, we all know that the JR appeal is now nothing more than a bargaining chip, and they will hold on to that for as long as it suits them and until they have a deal they can live with. If any deal is done, the appeal will be dropped.

Nobody is jumping through hoops at this development, just a little cautious optimism amidst all the gloom.

A 'New Statement' that says nothing new.

Cynical posturing imo.

Would you drop what is effectively your most potent bargaining chip?

Would you open your books to a company trying to bankrupt you and currently going through legal action?

Both sides need to make some concessions, for Sisu it's dropping the legals and showing they can be worked with. For ACL it's accepting the money from the FL.

Still not seeing anything that suggests a short term return mind. Still talking about revenues, which is still the sticking point and therefore means we're still waiting around for a bunch of people who haven't been able to agree for 2 years to agree.

Yes, because those negotiations might include an agreement that said court action stops.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - so please excuse any spelling or grammar errors :)

But SISU are unlikely to win so ACL will wait unfortunately.
It is obvious that SISU have not given up on getting the Ricoh on the cheap.
ACL/CCC are here for the long term so can wait.
The argument here is that they should give in for the sake of us fans. Would be nice particularly if the club gained but would be outweighed by the more significant number of rate payers that CCC have to answer too.

A 'New Statement' that says nothing new.

Can you see the difference:
1. We have moved on, there is no deal to be done, we would only return as owners.
2. We are willing to talk about a rental deal, let's start the process of reconciliation, we have a proposal.
Nothing new?

Over and Over again sisu mislead and try to make it look like the fault is with someone else and over and over again a huge number of people fall for it and get all excited. There isn't anything positive about this statement.

Also why was this statement a few hours ago written by Joy Seppala and Tim Fisher and now only written by Tim Fisher? thats a bit weird isn't it? why would they change the statement like that?

ACL won't talk until the ,fl agreed ,money is paid and the JR is dropped .
SISU release a statement saying they are not going to pay the money yet and will not drop the JR. Cue everyone to jump up and down and Sing "We're coming home"
We're being played
But SISU have had some guys working a plan while the rest of their staff work on turning over the JR. Classic divergence tactics . One day they'll be straight .
Then again perhaps not

Its comments like this that get on my tits:

"As we said last week, and will continue to say, we want the club playing home games in the right place as soon as possible - back in the Coventry community"

They were the ones that took the club out of its community for no reason at all.

Yes I can and yes they are. What they also are is on the back foot and increasingly desperate. Whatever your viewpoint, these last 2 statements are very new indeed.

Anyone noticed how the statement was originally signed off by Tim Fisher and Joy Seppalla. Seems to have been altered to now just say Tim Fisher. Seems Seppalla may be distancing herself from the statement! Also it has now been shunted right off the homepage completely by admittedly tonights match report and some other stuff.

depends on whether you believe what they say.

Me? I wouldn't trust a word they say.

Actions not words.

Not really.

The statement makes it quite clear that no negotiations can take place until the FL make their decision, because ACL are insistent on that, however the details of SISUs proposal have been made available 'for review by ACL' ahead of that decision being made. That all seems pretty easy to understand to me.

What this offer entails nobody knows, but I am sure we will find out in due course.

As for the JR appeal, of course it will have to be dropped ahead of any new deal, we all know that.

I don't see much jumping up and down either by anyone. Just a little cautious optimism.

It does appear that one or two seem genuinely annoyed by this apparent SISU u-turn, which is odd to say the least.

I seem to see this in a different way to everyone else.

The crown jewels have been sold. They have been replaced on the cheap. They might have done well. We will have to wait and see. But will anyone be worth millions next year to sell? Have the investors had enough of putting money into our club?

It looks like SISU have massive legal bills to pay. Hardly any income. Are they trying to move back to the Ricoh to increase their income massively whilst using the money to continue the litigation? And if it fails hope that some of us will blame ACL for our club not coming home.

Have SISU paid directly ACL £590k = NO. (Stalling tactic putting it in an ecrow account. FL advised to PAY ACL by 31/05/2014)

Have SISU dropped legals = NO.

Until both are a YES then the statement today is irelevant.

SISU said they would NEVER rent again. Whats changed Joy? :)

I guess NOPM has had to much of a hit on their finances. Northampton was a SISU disaster.

They just dont fancy it for another season. I wonder why? £.

Moving back to the Ricoh and continuing litigation cannot both happen. Its one or the other. You know this, so why say it?

On point 1, the statement is totally relevant given that it acknowledges no talks can take place until the money is transferred. It addresses that very point directly. Did you actually read what it said?

On point 2 it remains to be seen if ACL will insist that this is dealt with before talks start, or if it will be addressed during talks. I guess will find out soon enough, but either way the legal action will have to be dropped.

According to ACL, the money was always going to be paid into an escrow account.

He said: “There’s every suggestion that they are not going to pay it going by the information given to us and the Football League

“They were required by the Football League to pay the money into escrow but they are doing everything possible not to pay it to us.

SISU release a statement saying they are not going to pay the money yet

The money is with the FL - it is their arrangement, and for them to distribute when and how they see fit.

How difficult is it to understand.....?

I wonder if MP Damien Collins recent statement has helped push this forward. Certainly the FL/FA won't want government putting legislation through that will mean more red tape, or legal accountability for their rules.

Perhaps Tim has had a meeting with Mr Collins - who like the Judge, isn't someone to have the wool pulled over his eyes?

I would echo other poster's statements though .... surely ACL can hold some preliminary talks and see if they can accommodate SISU's wishes, which will no doubt have some caveats regarding match day revenues. They also set out their own stall (ie. money must be paid and [perhaps] the JR dropped) and get things ready so they can all sign on the dotted line as soon as the FL release the escrow money.

What an excellent observation junglej13, and also to Noggin. That's true media manipulation and / or Timmy's just had one almighty bollocking! If SISU / Otium were upright and professional would this type of thing happen? No. If Timmy and Joy weren't devious FW's would it happen? No. Should we take one word from the letter as anything other than Spin and Propaganda? No feckin way.

If the above is not true expect Timmy to apologise to his boss and the fans tomorrow for being at worst deliberately misleading and at best a total twat.

Plus the original statement was entitled "Sisu" ready with proposal on Ricoh Arena return talks, but it now states "Coventry City" ready etc etc.

I also thought it was odd that they even stated Sisu as opposed to OEG?

Sisu will be blaming the FL after the 7th of August saying it was to late to return to the ricoh. Sisu pay the money you owe or will be millions out of pocket again next season and no Wilson to cover losses.

Don't know if the original statement contained this current line:

I will continue to meet fans and clearly explain the club's position.

If so, I doubt Joy would want to make herself available directly to fans. Perhaps this is why her name's been dropped ... though the image of Tim being carpeted by a whip wielding blonde in a rubber outfit does spring to mind.

There proposals that they are ready to ask for are the same as normal, match day revenue which we all no is beyond acl's control due to contract with compass
