your right. Not sure why everyone was so negative about managing to secure our position in the 3rd best league in England, whilst a mere 35 miles from home.

so much to rejoice in

Maybe everyone knows that we're 35 miles from home, and they want to focus on the football for a change, instead of wittering on and on and........
Whats wrong with a bit of positivity.

Being negative is often thrown about as an accusation when someone offers a realistic picture of how far the club has sunk.

I can not be enthusiastic about a few signings of players that anyone else outside of non league and maybe league 2 at a push really want. The biggest battle is getting the club back to the City as another season in that shithole will be the end for to many fans.

The fact some of our fans considered moving to Bournemouth as a sign of how far we've fallen shows how far in the past the majority of our fans are. They think we should be signing world beaters. In fact, we have done some of the best business in the league compared to the rest like Crewe, Chesterfield, Rochdale, port vale, Bradford, Swindon etc.

Do you actually believe that about any of the players we've signed?

Do you honestly think that people are that thick that they don't realise how far our club has sunk??? Like I say, whats wrong with fans having a little positivity about our new signings, whats wrong with a little positivity about the new season. Frankly people are bored of talking about the same boring shite.

So so true, people acknowledge the fact that as it stands our long term future is up in the air due to the crooks that own the club, however despite any real investment from SISU the team Pressley is building can compete at the top end of the league (Barring points deductions ofc)

I wouldn't bother with this lot on here. We were relegated at this stage last summer and were going to finish bottom. We were relying on a young unproven striker.

Can you say that the new signings are as good as the ones who have left us in the last 12 months? I hope to god that they are but going on how bad last seasons signings were then I think that I will reserve judgement until at least Christmas. We only just managed to avoid relegation last season with the best strike partnership for the majority of the season, one of the best attacking midfielders with another chipping with in goals and one of the best keepers in the league. As you know mate I have supported my club for a long time and I have earned the right to be pessimistic because thinking like that means that anything better is a bonus and in my time as a Cov fan it is not the winning the war that we like but the small battles in it, such as a good result or a top away day, because lets be honest, we are not likely to be winning leagues or cups anytime soon, are we?

The worry with the current squad for next season is that it needs to be strengthened and not just replaced, we were found massively wanting in the second half of the season due to a lack of depth in the squad and it was down to the great start and the fact we had two strikers and high scoring midfielders that probably saved our bacon in the end. If we haven't got that to start with, it could be a long hard season.

Lastly, the one thing this league has shown us is that our weaknesses can and will be found out so along with a bigger squad, Pressley also needs to show he has a plan B or C up his sleeve.

I can't really offer any opinion on the players as I have lost interest.

While you all get excited about the forthing coming slog in Northampton I have found something else to do. This is coming from a proud Cov kid born on Gulson road (just across the road from HR for all the newer fans) who was first taken the HR in 1974 and marvelled at the likes of Wallace, Regis, Speedie, Dublin etc etc. I was a seaon ticket holder in total for about 12 years and even worked as a steward at HR for 6 years. I went to the hill once but didnt make it as I almost got arrested. I wish I was as the OP mentioned depressed because theres maybe hope and I might still care, but I am not as I dont see it as my club now.

There are many like me. Something that the owners should have concern about as alienating yourself from 95% of your customer base is not good business practice, but the football club and its history is unfortunately coincidental to their aims in all this.

Hi there,

Just a friendly request. Steven pressley has made shrewd signings with championship experience to put us in good stead for the coming season and give us a real chance. Remember, we already have two good strikers with another two potentially coming in and they will score goals at this level. The defence has improved massively as well with the very good signings of Reda Johnson and Pugh who is a good enough replacement for Adams. Our squad has more balance to it as well which will show as the season goes on.

Now stop acting like the season is over before it's begun because we are selling our top earner who won't make it into our starting XI.

FIN.

Agree with most of it but describing the two strikers as good I'm not quite sure, tudgay has hardly set the world alight goal scoring wise at any club he's been at as for the other lad apart from one season he's struggled to hit a cows arse with a banjo. Johnson if he stays fit will be a good signing as will Pugh but I will remain on the fence regarding the promise of other signings will come until i actually see them, let's be honest it's not unusual for clubs that are struggling to sell season tickets to promise more signings are on the way.

By the way I'm pretty sure tudgay hasn't actually signed.

You can't be that disinterested if you're trawling through a Coventry City fans forum. Everyone is pissed off at the situation, but not everyone feels the need to post woe is me crap like that. Wow you almost got arrested, what a martyr you are.

Most 'normal' fans have drifted or given up. Thats a big issue thats caused by the owners, maybe why it takes up so much band width would you say?

Theres really nothing else I would like than to be looking forward to a trudge through Foleshill back to the car in the rain debating how slow our centre back is.

All eyes on the FL now. I have a feeling they might get tough, that will change the subject slightly for a while.

maybe for just once you could stop talking about owners and perhaps about the decent squad Pressley is putting together which with most normal fans would be a cause for optimism

Nope he'd rather whinge and moan about how he could never watch football with a sixfielder. What a class 1 bellend.

The subject is football and the team. Don't change it. All you've done is come in here and try to change this thread to be like every other one on this pissing forum.

Thats my choice. The same as its yours to attend its mine to have contempt.

Try not to get a stiff neck sucking your own cock.

He doesn't attend.
