Huddersfield after Pressley (11 Viewers)

Pressley will likely wait for the Leeds job. Will be available soon and he now has an impeccable record of being able to front up for outrageously unpalatable regimes whilst somehow maintaining fans support.

Usual garbage from you My stanse has never changed through all off this you however?
I would actually rather be related to Fisher then you! at least he is consistant same cannot be said for yourself?
As for engineering look at yourself make comments that dont stake up then attack people as stupid or wums really need to do better who can actually take you seriously?
I for one do not expect to be taken seriously but I know where I stand and I am proud of it. Sisu out Ricoh return and shove Shitfields up your arse simple really.
Funny how a few pints makes you see it really clearly.

That doesn't make a lot of sense but essentially my whole point is you engineer an acceptable solution that will give sisu a potential exit strategy.

Oddly your stance of make them pay for everything and see them suffer will ensure they hang around longer.

What does that say about you?

You certainly seem to want them hanging around for a long time.

I guess it's just an act - are you related to fisher by any chance?

The CT's article regarding Huddersfield is designed to attract attention and from the state of some of the posts on this thread I would say it's worked..

By the way Grendel is right, Chris Wilder, Paul Ince and Dennis Wise are managers who were heavily linked yet never appointed..

Huddersfield will want someone who can come in and work under their conditions, Pressley isn't that type of manager.

In what way? Pressley is working under bad conditions here that are enforced upon him, we'll never know which players have been sold out from under him and which were his choice but we certainly know he said he didn't want loan players and from not longer after that we've had multiple at all times many of which have been needed in the first team.

Seems to me Pressley is exactly the sort of manager you want if you want someone to work under your conditions, he sucks it up when the owners screw him over, he is always optimistic, he doesn't blame the owners, well at least that is how he has been here.

I have no idea if there is anything behind this talk though, I just couldn't agree with your final statement.

If Huddersfield do come in for SP, any chance of them taking Grendel on a free as part of the deal?

Genuinely not arsed. I like Pressley but there's nothing to suggest someone else can't come in and do better/worse/the same. It is what it is.
If they want him there's a good chance he'll go.

They'd be better off going for Neil Warnock or Nigel Grayson...even Aidy or Gary Mac

Couldn't of put it better myself. Thumbs up

Why not? He's worked under SISU's conditions compliantly enough...

While Stephen Pressley hasn't had the best conditions to work in, Steven Pressley has been able to change the ethos of the Club and has been allowed to change things to a manner of which he see's fit.

I hope that's not a quote from him and he's gone all Mickey Adams on us?

It's not nitpicking. You're mocking the Telegraph for fabricating or embellishing the story as it's without foundation; I'm telling you that as he's favourite in the betting - as you mention in your first post - it is with foundation. Our manager is favourite for a vacant role. That's news worthy in the sports section, surely?

Hmmm, see who was bottom of the(very long) list at 50/1 to take over after Robins left?

My issue wouldn't be Pressley leaving. I would be more concerned about who would come in .......

What difference does that make? If you care to look back, I haven't commented in any way as to whether he's liable to get the or or not. Why? As I haven't got a clue. The Telegraph story? Again, I haven't got a clue.

But it does irritate when folk claim to have the power of dismissal over the Telegraph story's origin, or Pressley's chances of going as they - like I - haven't got the foggiest. Some times the favourite gets the job. Sometimes a rank outsider gets the job. It's a lottery.

What I do note, though, is many of the people who are counting this story as a nothing story, are those who normally take a more than sympathetic line to the current club's owner's politic. For obvious reasons

Sports reporter from cwr said that he spoke to a couple of sources close to Pressley, including one at Falkirk that are adamant there is nothing in it whatsoever.

He also went on to point out bookies odds are crazy on this sort of thing as all it takes is a totally unfounded story from the telegraph to get someone to put money on him and he is instantly favourite - as I have already pointed out.

The article has no substance at all.

What a load of fucking toss.

You obviously didn't look back as to what I'd written before posting your first crappy offering this morning. And obviously didn't check back over the 'usual suspects' dismissing it before posting your second. Do you have a hat-trick of ineptitude planned?

Again, you're asserting that it was the Telegraph story that made the odds shorten. You don't know. I don't know.

Why bother pretending you know something you don't? Why don't you just do what I, and others are doing, and waiting to see before spouting your 'wisdom'?

It seems you have misunderstood.

This was a statement by Dan Freeman, sports journalist on cwr.

No. I understand. You have a view from another party that supports your stance. That's great. You may well be right. For the sake of your own desperate ego, I prey you are.

But to come back to my initial point; at the point you were dismissing categorically as 'fact' and even now with your new information, you don't 'know'. So, why not just wait and see if it's got any legs or not before taking such a firm stance. As it only takes one phone call to Pressley from the Huddersfield chairman to potentially prove you wrong

Unless SP is very different to everyone else working in football, he'll go when a better offer comes along. I don't think he's done enough for us yet to have really interested Huddersfield, but it's possible I guess.

The only thing that might make SP stick around for longer, would (possibly) be if he thought we were on the verge of something big. Personally I don't see any signs of that happening. The Wilson transfer fee hasn't been used to significantly strengthen the squad, and we seem deadlocked with regard to coming back to the Ricoh. On that basis if a better-funded team comes in for him, most critically with a bigger contract for him personally, then I can't see why he'd stay.

All mho, but such is football I'd say.

Even though I was the OP on this one I never gave or give it much credence.

My view is that Huddersfield would be barmy to take SP when some fairly decent managers with proven track records like Neil Lennon and Brian McDermott are out of contract and available.

As far as I am concerned, its just a bit of fun & nonsense, if anyone over reacted, that is their problem.

You have a point next time I see a newspaper headline that says Elvis is alive and in a double decker bus on the the moon I will wait to see if it has legs before I judge if it is made up dross or not.

A slightly facetious response. I just checked the odds. And using The Gospel According to Grendel, I presumed - that as you claimed -one local story in the paper had made him favourite; would be countered by him tumbling back down by the news and dismissals on CWR this morning. That's how your logic works, yes?

Alas, he's still joint-favourite at 2:1 on Sky Bet. Oh. Your logic appears flawed. Damn....

Again, to reiterate as I'll no doubt be misrepresented some time soon; I don't know if he will be their next manager or not. I simply and really don't know

I'd say it was deeply sarcastic and much deserved.

Deserved for what? Pointing out that his conclusion is without fact? Look back in this thread. It's Grendel dishing out the insults and high-handedness. Yet when he's challenged, it's the same faces chipping in, 'liking' and accusing people of the very behaviour Grendel starts. Do you all have lunch together?
