The abuse has started.
Iif he had left after our relegation season the abuse would be directed at Carl Baker.
I wouldn't be too disappointed. He'll be back to score the winner against us in a few months.
doubt that wouldnt be suprised to see a struggling championship side take a chance on him
Then they'd really be struggling with his one goal every 43 games average in the championship.
He might get signed by someone with a little more footballing nous than a twisted fella with access to Wikipedia and his scientific calculator (most functions unused)
Sorry, couldn't resist!

Stevenage away winner.
Equaliser in JPT.
Half way line goal at Rotherham.
Overhead kick at Hartlepool.
Single handedly tearing Birmingham.
What other bloody exciting moments has he given us, there's a lot!
That goal at Rotherham was a bit special. I'll always remember being 1-0 down at the Arsenal a few months ago. We weren't playing that well. One or two of the younger players looked a bit like rabbits in the headlights. They'd just conceded a goal to a team of international players worth tens of millions of pounds who were being watched by 60000 people. Baker picked up the ball. Ran 50, 60 maybe 70 yards taking on those players worth 10s of millions of pounds. Beat them all bar the keeper who had to pull off a worldie of a save. From the BBC online commentary: "Meanders past Mesut Ozil, then 3 more Arsenal men. Great save. Nearly one of the all time FA Cup goals there. Ricky Villa, eat your heart out".
Yes it didn't go in and we conceded another 3 (tiredness was a factor) but it was enough to show to the younger lads it was doable and you could say it lifted the whole team. Remember how much praise the remaining hour's performance received?

I think you are confusing me with most others on here who use it to lambast any new signings we make.
Ultimately though stats don't really lie - not over a period of such length.
I don't get this Baker love-in, very very average player. The fact there's a rumour that he's going to Northampton (bang average league 2 team) says it all. Just beacuase he's lauded as some kind of legend on facebook, doesn't mean he can still do it on the field,
V Rotherham.......
"Baker from the half way line- Baker from the half way line....!"
Like David bell vs Doncaster?
Sigh....."David Bell from 40 yards- David Bell from 40 yards...".. Better?... you turn into a right Diva when you're hungry G...
