Or you could say that the currentticket prices maximise revenue therefore bringing in more money for better players, which in improves the quality of the product, meaning better results leading to higher demand and more money.

To be honest we're pretty fooked by not owning our own stadium and not benefiting from any matchday or additional revenue. Our income is basically ticket sales, merchandising and sponsorship and the odd time we get on tv. If we want a promotion pushing side we need to pay for it. And even more important because FFP.

That may be, but on a rent only deal with no access to additional or matchday revenue we'll struggle for the foreseeable future. If promoted, we'll relegation candidates and will likely end up a league one/championship yo-yo club like Peterborough and Doncaster...

To put it simply I think £22-27 is a bit too high for this league. We are only a West Midlands club not a southern club.

The 2 pound charge for match day is stupid and doesn't work.

Lessons need to be learned and I think they will so come April/may an it's ST time then it can be made to sell more. I personally see nothing wrong with £10 a game so £230 season tickets. In my opinion a lot more would get a ST at that price and pay up front knowing they get additional benefits such as away/cup tickets.

How much is a season ticket at Sheffield united or other league 1 clubs in the midlands or up north?

The cheapest season ticket at Sheffield United is £380, our cheapest is around £270 and our standard on is £345. Our season tickets are good value imo, single matches are slightly overpriced imo

Fair enough so will they do the same this year? They should if there serious to intice new fans including kids. My lad who is 8 supports the city but only 3 others in his class do too. What does that tell you?

That we play 2 leagues below the PL and young boys are more likely to follow a 'big' team. Absolutely bugger all to do with City match prices.

Now, many clubs charge depending on opposition so I am assuming mid price and excluded terracing. Sheff Utd is excluded altogether as I cannot work them out. I cant find one ticket sold at £18 but they seem to be cheapest at £21.50 -- they charge postage, booking fee and £2 walk up on top.

A lot of clubs do give a membership option and if you are a member you get between 20% and 30% off a match ticket. Not looked into membership charges but looks a good idea.
Average concession reduction is 30% but children prices hugely variable

I've only looked up to the checkout as then you are required to sign up to there site but added to my basket at £18.
You only need a child in the family stand which is not available online, select a seat in the kennedys kop stand behind the goal and it is £18

Please note that adults can only purchase tickets for the Family Stand if they are accompanied by children and a restriction of 2 adults per child is in place. Due to these restrictions, Family Stand tickets are not available to purchase online. Please contact the Ticket Office on 0871 995 1889 to book tickets for this area.

As our main income stream is ticket revenue currently and a lot on here still have unrealistic squad number and player ambitions think we need to accept club need to charge these prices to have a hope of trying to meet expectations linked in with financial fair play.

I agree reducing tickets will not make massive amount of difference to attendance and club will lose out. Think got it spot on currently in line with rest of league providing they do offer maximum amount of promotion games allowed within football league guidelines.

Ticket revenue hasn't been our main income for years, certainly wasn't in the last set of accounts, and I doubt it has been since.

Not saying it is not competitive saying not everyone can afford to go every week.

For me it is a 3 mile drive park for free as have a friend who lives near the ground pay for ticket not bad...

Others may have to drive a distance then £5.00 to park and a ticket, It then gets a bit expensive to watch us play Yeovil, that is all I am saying.

By the way I will be there..

I think the basic point being made here is football in general is massively overpriced and it'd be nice if our club was to set a new trend, however unlikely it is.
