When I've got enough to buy the club I'm going to put the Ricoh on wheels and move it to the bottom of Craven St. That'll liven the crowd up.

I'd move it to Warwick so I wouldn't have to travel as far. I'm sure no one would mind.

Just come from the shop.
20 people in the queue 2 hour wait, no staff.
More then that walked off when told of the time queuing.
They have sold 6500 tickets so far including season tickets.
They Expect a big walk up on the day to get in the region of 15,000.
Don't shoot the messenger.

That's one of the main issues as well, why does it take so long to sell a ticket? Are they driving them to the ground to show them the seat and back? Is it the IT system being so slow? Is it the staff don't know what they are doing?

I lose track myself mate - not been out down that way for a few months myself. Possibly longer. It had reopened (after being closed for a while) when I was down there last, but it could well be closed again. The big breweries seem to have made running a pub a difficult business!
I did my bit to help out landlords plenty over the years, I'd like to think.

I lose track myself mate - not been out down that way for a few months myself. Possibly longer. It had reopened (after being closed for a while) when I was down there last, but it could well be closed again. The big breweries seem to have made running a pub a difficult business!
I did my bit to help out landlords plenty over the years, I'd like to think.

Going by LAST's comment, i think i was referring to the old closure, really has been a good while since ventured there.
The smoking ban destroyed a lot of the pub business too, especially, old school pubs.
You wouldn't go there because it was 35 miles away yet expect the same price at the Ricoh.thats some unbelievable hubris.

I have to travel over 200 miles which takes me a minimum 4 hours for home games. Yet you seem to think that I didn't go because it would have taken me about an extra 30 mins.

Nobody has said we wouldn't get more fans if the price was lowered. My view is that even if the price was reduced to say £15 (non-league prices ;-) ) it would make very little impact on the attendance on Saturday because not enough people in the city give a shit.
I genuinely don't think you'd get more than 1,000 tops who thought "£18-£22 not paying that. What, they've reduced it to £15 - I'm going!"
And for the millionth time I do not apply this to all fans. Some genuinely can't afford to go, I have never denied that.
It's just really disappointing given we've been a away for a year and I can't understand why everybody isn't as excited about Saturday as me. Something I clearly need to address!

When i popped down for a wee during the Gillingham game there were loads down there drinking. I find it really odd.

Fair enough, I can see where you are coming from. I think I'd differ in that if prices were significantly less, we'd see a fair chunk more people at the ground, but I'd entirely accept it's about more than just the price. It's not about affordability for many, it's about value, and I think that's perhaps what you're missing, politely. £24 to walk up to an L1 game isn't good value for me personally - for a different game, in different circumstances I'd pay it. But given everything that's a price where I have to, personally, consider whether it's worth it - and in all honesty I don't feel that it is. I accept that you differ.
I think we need to see last week as a one off. Very low prices for what was a very attractive game because of the circumstances. Once we get back into the humdrum of L1 it's entirely different, and I'm not personally surprised or upset that the attendance will be much lower. What I'd like to do is see what can be done to improve that, and the obvious one to me at the moment is the price - there's very little else that the club can control in the short term. It's not about giving a shit or being shit fans - if no one gave a shit we'd have had 10,000 there last week too.
I'm sure it's not your intention, but it's almost as though SISU righting an absolutely horrific wrong means that you think we should forget everything that's gone before and where we are now in league terms, and turn up 25,000 strong for each game regardless. That isn't going to happen.
I think your disappointment and anger is a measure of your passion, and that's fair enough too - but I think there are a lot of previously very loyal fans out there who don't quite feel the way you do at the moment, and the club has to reach out to them somehow.

Some fair points.
I certainly wouldn't expect anything like 25,000 at each game in League 1, of course not. But it would have been nice to have seen enough passion in the city to generate more than 10K for our 2nd game back after a year's absence. Who knows, the actual attendance may be better than that. Fingers crossed.

I do have a couple at away games, but only coffee at home matches needs 10 sugars to make it taste like coffee though.
As for standing in the bar the whole game that has gone on since they have kept the bars open for the whole game, got to admit don't get it ether.

IIRC their ground only holds about 10,000 with only about half of it with seats. Would be funny if they gave stick for attendances of 12k
It is a decent ground for atmosphere though if they ever get enough of their own in.

Yep. Usually on about 34-35 mins it's off to the mall for a pint. Come back 2 mins after the 2nd half has kicked off and then quite often pop back off again during the 2nd half, probably to empty their bladders of the vastly overpriced beer they have just drank.
