As much as I dislike the situation, strategically, it's a correct one for ACL.

Well after thinking about this apparent Wasps taking a controlling interest in the Ricoh I will be totally for us the football club sharing with a major Rugby club. A controlling interest is 51% leaving 49% up for grabs, that's a lot more than our football club get now for a start. Wasps are financed indirectly by the Tata group, so why not our football club eventually ? .I believe these negotiations have been going on for a while and probably ready for official disclosure. Sharing a ground with rugby clubs is happening all over the place so I have no problem with that. Major league rugby has heavy Sky financial backing and is highly successful. As for "what about Cov Rugby Club" listening on CWR to their boss Peter Rossborugh he seemed quite happy with the prospect of a Cov/Wasps alliance. I'll make it quiet clear I want sisu gone completely from my football club, apart from the Sixfields farce since they have been at the helm we have been relegated, gates dropped 30%+, major assets sold and no serious player investment, 3 I believe deliberate transfer embargos, a debt of £69million, a troop of various directors, c.e.o's,etc,etc. spouting garbage, spinning stories and treating us supporters with contempt, as a fan I am ready to see what somebody else has to offer and take the chance, seemed to of worked at a number of other clubs.
And if and a big if for me Fisher is serious about building or buying a new ground perhaps he could take a look at the soon to be vacated Butts Park Arena, by the way who owns that ?

How can a football team share a ground with a rugby team when you think about the condition of the pitch after a rugby game? Or have I missed something?

Ask Swansea City, a taem who play good passing football and now a fixture in the Premiership.
With respect get your head out of the sand, nowadays, with undersoil heating and modern technology a muddy cut up pitch can be repaired and in good condition within 24 hours with the right groundman/men.

ACL have said they want the club there at the Ricoh and it is Sisu who are insisting they are going off to build a new stadium.
Would say the CT are being a hell of a late more impartial than you are, Ian.
I myself, would consider my own stance as quite balanced and of course no one wants to see anyone 'turfed out.' I honestly can't see that happening. The whole city would surely be up in arms about it.
Any deal for Wasps would have to at least offer to accomodate the Sky Blues. Better still, it would be a half share. Best of all, the club buy the Ricoh and we're all happy. No Wasps, no impingement on Cov rugby club and the Sky Blues with a secure future.

I will repeat what I said earlier, listening to Cov rugby boss Peter Rossborough he is keen on a Wasps/Cov alliance ,imo this will have been discussed ages ago. At Swansea I believe famous old Neath and Swansa rugby club amalgamated to form Neath/Swansea Ospreys and eventually dropped the Neath/Swansea bit to just Ospreys. The old famous Coventry Rugby Club changed years ago from the Man. United of English Rugby to a piddling little outfit almost going out of business more than once, I say bring it on !

Well, I have said previously, I would be okay with it if Cov rugby club are okay with it all and if it also benefits Coventry City FC.
Would also like to see Wasps fans okay with it too mind. If they are completely opposed to the move then it would be hypocritical for us to support it I feel.

If SISU offered half its value because the club were not there and CCC turned it down can TF say that CCC will not sell the club?
Can anyone answer these questions.
1. What is the stadium worth now with a football team? in it. (.. and wasps buzzing around with interest) ?
2. What offer have SISU made for the stadium, if any ?
3. Is the so called offer for ACL or the stadium ?

Why do I need to be impartial? I already support a club that doesn't own it's own stadium due to a multitude of reasons, is it so wrong to not want to become a second-class tenant in a stadium that could be given priority to another team in another sport?

None of know the true facts I guess, but it must be very difficult for anyone trying to deal with someone who seems intent on taking you and seemingly everyone else to court.
I can see both sides. Obviously want the club to get hold of the Ricoh, because I believe a football club should own its own ground, but at the same time, I wouldn't be wanting to say sell my house to somone who is suing me.

Maybe so - lets hope you are right.
People are rightly concerned considering we thought we had finally turned a corner upon our return to Ricoh.
If SISU were offered same potential deal as Wasps and then turned it down then they would deserve the criticism. I'm not sure how the club can be blamed at this point.

Noticed that a few people are totally slagging off Bob Ainsworth for his saying he doesn't know how Wasps fans feel about this. Okay, fine, I think it was the wrong thing to come out and say, but at the same time no-one has highlighted this bit of the interview here;
Mr Ainsworth insisted the move could be good for the city and dismissed fears that it could jeopardise the Sky Blues’ ability to continue to play at the venue.
He said: “The Ricoh Arena is an investment in the city’s economy, a tax-payers’ investment.
“There’s a responsibility to the citizens of Coventry to make the most of that in terms of jobs and regeneration in the North West of Coventry, and the council has that responsibility.
“The kind of stadium we have there cries out for an effective anchor tenant. If the football club were prepared to be that partner there would be nobody happier than me.
Unfortunately, it seems that some have only picked on that one part of the statement about Wasps fans, slagged the MP off for that and ignored the rest of what he had to say.

I think up to now SISU thought they had the upper hand and I hazard a guess have never offered the full value for either ACL or the stadium.
We know for a fact that they tried to get the Higgs share for a pittance.
SISU, just buy into ACL and stop this nonsense.

Over half of those share with rugby leage Teams, which I beeline their season is now march to October (?) so they aren't sharing the pitch in the muddy winter months, where the pitch tends to get the most damage.
And to be fair a lot of those teams don't play passing football.
And to those teams also have west broms U21's, ccfc ladies and the odd charity match on top?
Our pitch was in a terrible state in the 2012/13 season after the Olympics and with a lot of home cup ties.

Nope. Just checked. Seems like it is all over at the end of this month.
Its the silence from the club which is unsettling. The return to the Ricoh bought some overdue positivity. ACL and the Council spoke about ownership possibility and Waggot has reverted the emphasis back onto the football side of things. I think they need to comment to avoid undoing some of this good work, even if its along the lines of 'We are aware of reports and are/will be in discussion with ACL'. Anything!

How do you know ACL have offered Wasps anything. It seems to me that wasps have done the chasing and ACL have clearly been receptive. Could it be that the way that wasps are approaching the issue is more constructive than litigation. Other than litigation and all the other nonsense that has gone on, can you list what SISU have done to gain control of ACL in a way that would tempt either share holder into doing a deal. Have they ever made any serious offer for any part of ACL? Have they ever made any offer or tried to approach CCC for the freehold. You can take a flippant comment from someone you've already pointed out on this thread as word being untrustworthy as gospel if you like but this story proves that if nothing else ACL have only ever received 1 genuine enquiry for a controlling share of them and therefore the Ricoh and it isn't SISU or any of their subsidiaries.
If that isn't SISU's fault I don't know what is. Are ACL supposed to force SISU to the negotiation table by gun point? I doubt they've had to do that with the wasps.

Because at that time there was trust between them & CCFC. There is none now & AHC found out later they'd made a big mistake, but I guess they didn't want CCFC to go into administration.

One of the most unsettling things was when we came back to the Ricoh. All positivity and smiling faces to be had and a great feeling of relief, but one of the first things said upon our return was the intention to state once again that the club will be building a new stadium.
Really took the wind right out of our sails, that.

I always thought that neither CCC or Higgs have ever taken a dividend as they were reinvesting all profits back into the project and therefore the surrounding area and therefore the city of Coventry. The heartless bastards.

You cannot blame the stadium owners for any of this. If we really wanted the stadium we would have taken advantage of the countless opportunities of the past.
It appears our owners still think the legal challenge is the answer. If the stadium gets new owners then surely the outcome of any challenge is fruitless in terms of gaining any control of the Ricoh.

Don't find it a little bit hypocritical though after all the spouting about clubs should be in their home town representing, franchising is wrong etc. Coventry should be in Coventry etc?

The stadium is owned by the Council. If SISU win a JR appeal this doesn't change the ownership, it also doesn't change the fact the a different company, that's ACL, own a lease to operate from the stadium.
