I always thought that neither CCC or Higgs have ever taken a dividend as they were reinvesting all profits back into the project and therefore the surrounding area and therefore the city of Coventry. The heartless bastards.

I would if our owner was a credible perspective owner. On the other hand if people want to sell for other financial reasons then they find an owner simples.

That looks like settlement of the mortgage and £5M each for Higgs and CCC ,both would have taken a loss on that ,Higgs around £1.5M. and CCC £5M.

TF is telling the truth SISU are building a stadium in let's say Hinckley.
Wasps will do fair business with ACL and buy half their share.
A children's charity get their money back which is spent on deprived children.

Not sure you should be telling others to have a hard think about their priorities unless your need for CCFC to be within the Coventry boundary is more than the need of a deprived kid.

Please can you tell me how famed children's charity the Higgs Trust, actually benefit needy children with their purchase of Browns Bar. Do they want to get them all pissed? or is it that they actually do a lot of other stuff than just children's projects!

Most of the Charity’s funds are invested on the stock market however where possible the Trustees are keen to invest their funds in Coventry.

99% of charities are good causes so I am not doubting them and that they do help children, but people make out like there are kids starving because of it.

The whole sight, not just the arena. You've obviously failed to notice but every time there's an event on at the Ricoh it tends to bring people and their money from outside the area into Coventry. It's also no longer the eye saw of a derelict gas works.

He's got a good point. I do find it a bit hypocritical that just about every City fan to a man was opposed to us going to Sixfields, but then some paid to go and watch us there.

Don't wish to bang on about Sixifields though. It's gone, done and dusted and it's time to move on. People are talking 'hypocrcites' here though before anything has even happened, or we have any idea what would be involved in any deal, or even if there is any deal.

The ricoh does benefit the city of Coventry at times for sure. High profile bands here must bring in people from all over the country and I sure many of those are eating in our restaurants and drinking in our pubs etc.

When there are concerts on it most certainly raises our profile as a city.

I had 2 cousins from different parts of Northern Ireland come over for the recent games festivals and I've also had other cousins over sleeping on my sofa before because they're over for a music concert. So I know first hand it brings outside and even out of country money to Coventry so to suggest it doesn't benefit the city of Coventry is idiotic. Even Grendulls favourite Psychic Sally has a national following.

Obviously the first thing that needs to happen is we need to establish if there's any truth in this. It's one thing to have 65 pages on a forum on the basis of a rumour but before protests and the like start up it really needs to be verified what the situation actually is.

My initial thought was this was a rumour leaked out of ACL as a way to respond to Fishers 'we can't buy the Ricoh' without getting involved in issuing statements. The statement from Wasps is odd though, you would have thought if there was nothing to it there would be an outright denial.

For me the priority would be:
1) how does it affect the club, as a CCFC supporter that is my priority over what is happening to anyone else. in the event of any sale would there be a provision for the club to stay on acceptable terms.
2) what do Wasps fans think of it. If they are against it, and I would assume they would be, then I would support any action they took to campaign against it. Equally what do Cov RFC think of it, I have zero interest in Rugby but if it's going to damage a hometown team again I would be happy to join any protest.

A good plan would be for SISU to call CCC / ACLs bluff and either make a formal bid or match any bid that is made by Wasps. As much as Fisher says they are being blocked from buying the ground, or at least the leasehold, as far as I'm aware they still haven't ever tabled an offer.

The bit you have highlighted is where they invest, this generates the money to further their charitable giving in Coventry.

I once thought their main activity was to help underprivileged children in the (fabled) Coventry Area, but they have much wider remit, however it is probably more down to lack of research that people bring up the children's charity angle than anything else, I hope you can accept that.

Thought that sisu were being made to pick up the legal tab

Plus the Higgs charity will put aside a set amount per annum to be used for charitable causes, it's unlikely they would have lowered that because of the court case, they'd more likely used reserves.

They did make an announcement pre game over the tannoy explaining the clubs position on the speculation and that they are talking to the council about the approach. In short, they have no problem with big European ties where extra capacity and facilities are required but will quite rightly oppose anything permanent.

In short, they have no problem with big European ties where extra capacity and facilities are required but will quite rightly oppose anything permanent.

Still seems a little odd tbh, to have a team pop in to a random city for a European game... especially as they come from a city hardly short of grounds!

It's also takeover by increments. Could be a mistake not to oppose it, as once there's a foothold...
