But the judge ruled no payout should take place because the breakdown had not occurred for one of three reasons - if Sisu had withdrawn from the negotiations, or taken up an unreasonable position, or if they had broken down because of a third party.
Mr Justice Leggatt pointed to the fact the charity knew the city council would not consent to any deal involving SISU buying the Higgs' share in ACL - something it would need to do before any agreement was made - while SISU had already carried out due diligence on ACL and concluded it was worth much less than the £5.5m mooted.
He said the deal had failed by the end of August 2012.

And this isn't sticking up for sisu, this what a Judge concluded. You and Tony might like to muddy the facts a bit. They didn't pay the £29k because it didn't meet the conditions to pay the £29k as agreed by a bloody Judge - or are you saying that the Judge is wrong and has lied? Yes higgs legal advice advised them to pursue it, but we can't use that as taking money from some kid sat in poverty in Coventry.
Sisu are cunits, I want them gone, but feck me let's stick to the facts.

And realistically, we all know that it never would have returned to 1.3m after being slashed-and it would give three years to negotiate a better long-term deal. I think that would have been better than a year in Northampton, don't you? But of course, you're just being factual and objective, aren't you? :thinking about:

SISU used 8 legal people IIRC. It cost a big six figure sum trying to get out of paying Higgs the 29k as agreed. Are you saying it was a good move by them now?
It burned bridges as much as anything else that they have done. Are you saying this was a good idea?
They could have paid the 5.5m and got rid of ACL. That is what the road map was all about. But it was all about the freehold. They took us to Northampton to try and devalue the Ricoh. We are now back so that failed. Fisher is still coming out with his shit. Now we have the Wasps thing going on. Was all of this a good idea?
I suppose you can now say that I am on the side of ACL. That is the normal comeback. Not my fault that I can see how much they have made us suffer for no reason.

I was told over 2 years ago a senior Rugby Union club were looking at playing at the Ricoh on a regular basis, posted that on here. Thought at the time it was Saracens but looks like perhaps it was Wasps. Now was this the reason the Sixfields thing happened backed by the Northampton Town chairman, think about it, does he have a vested interest in Northampton Saints RFC for example, a Cov/Wasps alliance on their doorstep might not be to their liking or his, one current massive club and one old time big club lots of potential there. The whole Sixfields thing never made financial sense to me, there had to be other reasons. One thing for certain all this hasn't just happened and has been on the table for ages imo.

As said the proposed train station is definitely a factor. Would bring in the crowds straight to the Arena. Rugby does have a lot of support especially top rugger with the top international players and that's money. Was talking to people the other day who would go and watch the top games but never go to football.

Very true and the station will be key to the fotunes of the Arena in terms of conferencing, the hotel, concerts etc. The Ricoh is where Coventry City belong. It makes perfect sense all round. There is so much potential at the Ricoh and round the Ricoh and it is so accesible to the M6 too.
Can't see any new stadium having a rail station, or facilities for big concerts, or being close to any major road network that is close to Coventry.

Ok i thought this was explained a million times but one more won't hurt. "The rent deal was for 3 years and would be reevaluated to current market rate dependant on league and financial and economical climate. For arguements sake it will return to no more than the 1.3 deal already in place"
So it was never going to return to 1.3 it was used merely as a figure to end a debate and to sign the new rent deal.
To say it only lasted 3 years and then returned to 1.3 shows a complete lack of understanding of the situation as it just didn't.

Yesterday I had several people stop me for a chat. They only knew me from on here. I stood out because my lad was with me. I got to know the true feelings from people that have stopped posting on here and also those that read but never post. And they all had similar views.
Always happy to have a chat with other supporters. Even those from other clubs. The one thing that stands out is that we all want the same thing. But there are things that go on that stops others from posting. And all in the name of having what is called an even debate.

I'm just so suprised we have so many finanical experts on here and high court judges and accountants and litigation lawyers, experts on contratcs and just those that are completely understanding business to the highest of levels and also of corporate and administraion laws etc.
I try to keep out of it all . There's an awful lot of guesswork at times, as with the Wasps thing. We need to wait and see what any proposed deal is and what its effects will be upon all parties involved. People are beating their chests and getting on their soapboxes with us knowing almost next to nothing.

I had an issue with posters saying the rent back to 1.3 when it clearly didn't.
It was based on a number of factors as decided by ACL and the club.
If that's WUMMING then I give up. It's a fact. 1.3million was not a fact. And I'm the WUM? Ok.

It was wrong though. It was factually wrong. That's what I had an issue with NW. The WUM bit was toungue in cheek.
Posters on here let their hatred of ACL get in the way of actual facts.
Now I don't like ACL and I don't like Sisu so I deal with facts. The other myth on this thread is that's higgs took SISU to court over the 29k. That just isn't true. Another example of facts getting in the way.

Please read my post. Was talking about the finances and litigation etc. You will not find a single post where I talk about such and such owing this and who did what to who or what the judge did or didn't say, or how much money is owed to whom and when etc.
I always, always keep out of that. Don't ever get involved because I don't feel I either know all the facts, or am experienced enough in the field to make comments on without having all the facts.
So 2 completely different things. Was just saying that a lot of the financial talk on here is guesswork and then am saying that a lot of the stuff about Wasps is guesswork too.

I suppose its the passion for the club, and the immense disappointment at our current predicament, the complete mess, and our lack of consistency on the pitch.
