I agree this would have been part of the decision. But don't you think it was strange that it happened a couple of games into the season and not before the season started?
Rob S mentioned that there is a prospectus out there in the financial sector surely Sisu would have got wind of this ?

How do we know that they were not informed by ACL? We don't even know if they are in negotiations or not. Or even if they can get the funds for the Ricoh. Their investors might have had enough of them wasting money at our club.

Not pissing myself - just flabbergasted that something so important (the future stability of your club) is apparently being fought over by what appears to be feuding children.

I'm not one to take sides - the issues do seem more complex than a 20 minutes natter in a podcast could ever cover - but I would say this, as someone with bitter and prolonged experience of fighting for a football club which so nearly went of the league (and hence out of existence - we could never have sustained life in the Conference in Gillingham) one thing is imperative; a football club can never progress if the fans are not united. It isn't possible.

I'm not intending to patronise or preach - my apologies if it comes across that way - but it leaves me scratching my head when a club with such a rich and proud history as Coventry City has bickering fans like bitter siblings fighting over which is the best method of resolving their mother's hip replacement issues.

Yours is a great club; someone just needs to bang your bloody heads together.

I've finished now, (it's my birthday and I've had a couple of jinkies) and I apologise as it's not strictly my business, but please - sort yourselves out.

TLO, thanks for the post, it is much appreciated.

Your words are advice are excellent, but sadly and probably now irretrievably, we may not be able to unite as one. The posts since your post are probably testament to that. :(

So you are content that we are owned by the worst owners in the history of English football, content that we are a mediocre team, in the third division, with crap players, playing the worst football in our history?
You are easily pleased, no wonder sisu don't give a shit about us fans. You and the likes of Grendel are embarrassing. You are right, fans of other clubs must piss themselves reading some of the comments on here.
It's all the council's, ACL's,the HIggs trust's and the fans' fault though isn't it?
True football fans want what is best for our club, and will never be content with mediocrity, why should we just accept what sisu are doing to our club?

Can you please point out in my post where I said that?

Embarassing why? That is how it is isn't it? We had thousands of fans demanding us to come back, sob stories about how they couldn't pass Coventry City onto the next generation of fans and now we are back then nothing from some of them who's live we ruined so much when we moved away. We had fans talking about sueing SISU for emotional damage!

Of course I would love for us to be in the Premier League, every city fan would. I am not going to stop bothering until we are there though. True football fans surely stick with their club through thick and thin don't they? I am not saying true fans go to every game home and away, but they don't give up and say they will only go when we are winning surely?

Just a few factual points for you.

CCFC fans have been united apart from a tiny but very noisy minority.

The two protest marches in Coventry organised by the Sky Blue Trust got 7-8,000 people.
The Keep Cov in Cov (kcic) campaign group with which I was involved advocated the sixfields boycott which was supported by all but a very small minority of City fans.
kcic made an offer to pay the Ricoh rent to enable a return and 88% of fans agreed with the offer.
The 2 protests in Coventry that Rob S organised got a couple of dozen people.
Rob S stood a candidate in the local election to try to unseat the leader of the council but got less votes than the BNP.
Rob S has never explained how his 'group' was formed.

CCFC were relocated to sixfields as a deliberate tactic by club owners sisu - the situation was in reality very simple - and was explained clearly in in a High Court judgement. You might want to read http://www.fsf.org.uk/blog/view/Fans-victory-Coventry-City-return-home

Your posts no longer make any sense at all. You really need to take a break

It makes perfect sense when you step back and read your post again. :) It was a light hearted comment which I am sure you will see if you read it back a few times.

No one else has heard of this 'prospectus'. Where did the story come from? Everything else in this business is covered by confidentiality clauses.

Nick and Rob S - skybluestalk's new Chuckle Brothers! ;)

Sorry, didn't mean to mess with the ego. Sky Blues Talk apologises. Quite clearly a light hearted GIF.

Not sure what Rob S has to do with posting that GIF, he isn't getting the credit!

*SNIP!*

Michael, with the best will in the world, in the nicest way possible and, hey, in the interests of fan unity, I'll ask you to re-read your recent comments and have a think about what you wrote and why you wrote it. Then maybe you'd like to come back with another comment? I'm happy to wait an hour or so for a response and I'll hold off any further response myself rather than continue the childish bickering right now. However, I will be very happy to provide some actual facts and corrections to your comments.

The one thing that would be incredibly helpful would be to explain in full how your group started (beyond you saying you got a phone call) - there is obviously a story before you got the call. It would certainly help counter what people like Shmmeee have posted

Only if you tell us about this bid you made to the club, the one 88% of people backed :)

Can't believe this is turning into supporters group wars.

"my group has more members"
"my group is better"

Seriously???

But according to some people GBTTR isn't a supporters group

Isn't a group made up of supporters a supporter's group?

apols to Shmmeee if I've got this wrong but I think he (and possibly others?) have suggested GBTTR is not a supporters group. If anyone from GBTTR could explain how it was founded it would dispel that. Just asking like

Reading this thread in some astonishment really!

Protest group - KCIC and Robs group (forget the acronym for a moment there), are different to supporters groups such as the London supporters group, Irish supporters group (I think they are still going).

Anyway, I haven't yet listened to the interview, but if as another poster has said, that the JR and judges comments were not mentioned, then that really is something of an error as it is key to what happened over the last year or so. If Rob had mentioned it, then this thread may have gone down a more positive route. It looks to an outsider as though a division in the support runs deep - I personally don't think it does. I would like to think that the interview was well intended, but unfortuately it has missed the mark as it is viewed as being unbalanced in some way with key ommissions on our plight.

Like I said, it just takes an outsider to read threads like this.

Cheers for clearing it up Monners about supporters groups etc.

Just my take on it Nick. I am a member of the London group, and of course there have been conversations about the issues, but the group is fundementally there to give fans outside of Cov the best opportunity to attend games (costs of travel, tickets etc..), and meet other fans. That is what I mean by there being differences of opinion, but without any division as fans of the club.

I did a bit (a very small bit) for KCIC, and signed the petition for Robs group - that doesn't put me in any camp, as I felt it was all about fans building pressure. But, it makes me feel uncomfortable when there is an apparent (and in fact obvious) taking of sides (pro -ante if you like). KCIC and the offer - good awarenes raiser, but probably counter productive with some of the likely people involved behind the scenes - Likewise with Robs group, where it isn't difficult for some to conlude that it shows our clubs owners in a better light and victims of some conspiracy.

Fans doing this openly on behalf of the "sides" does grate with me - it isn't our role, and other fans (and our own) will view it as divisive. Let the main protagonists do their own dirty work (which I wish they wouldn't - but hey, we can't help that can we)!

This is only a personal view -not that of a newly formed protest group!

PUSB one and all (having a really shit day at work, so can someone please cheer me up!)

Sad, but true.

Yes let's get Jack Griffin on the show for so e balance. Brighton fans will tune in and think they mistakenly tuned a party political broadcast for Coventry City Council.

Woah woah woah. Don't put words in my mouth. I said it was a fans group no one asked for and its a minority opinion. And that it only rears its head when trying to cause trouble for CCC.

OK maybe I did say that.

Not bothered about how they were formed to be honest, their actions alone tell you all you need to know. I'm sure there's as much chance that Rob is a useful idiot as much as genuinely underhand. Regardless, the point is his view is a minority extremist one.

You never did explain the "free rent" offer, what the details were or who was behind it, did you? What were the 88% agreeing to?

Extremist? Big strong that. It may be a minority view but as valid as anyone else's, surely?

You never did explain what you did that was more productive than anything Micheal did in returning us home. Sitting behind a keyboard and slagging of someone who put real time, effort and money in to do something that benifited you is pretty shitty by any standard and makes you look like a SISU lap dog. I hope you're proud of yourself. Are you enjoying watching your club play at home again.

Ha! I never "slagged" him off at the time and I'm not "slagging" him off now. I am simply asking him questions rather that just swallowing everything he says as if he was some kind of Super Being. Maybe you can't see the irony in your little rant.

Textbook Reply. Don't think anybody slagged him off did they? Just asked him a question?

Yep, and you've just given your text book reply. Oh, my mistake no winking smiley face.

Unfortuantly all you've ever done is ask the wrong questions of the wrong people.

Was you're question relevent to either the context of this thread or our current situation given that we are infact back at the Ricoh? No!

so you're are deliberately asking them to belittle and discredit him, presumably to make yourself look big.

I'll ask you again.

If you think that his question was belittling then I guess it shows what you think of the offer.

I think you will find it was Michael who brought the stuff about the offer into the thread, try reading back.

I will ask you again, who has slagged him off? Asking him a question isn't slagging him off is it?

Michael has done his usual of come into a thread, give it the big I am and then scarpered with others acting like somebody has just punched their cult hero in the face or something by asking him a question.

Do you think you and the rest of your belivers will ever get round to thanking Micheal for his campaign while we were being kept captive in Northampton?
