I agree if I can't tell you the exact figure of jobs that will be created and money that will be brought in. Then I shouldn't be allowed to mention it.

Do you think the boost to the economy over the next 20 years might be £1.8 billion?

Well Witherspoons alone would create 20 jobs I would have thought then the ticket office, Club shop stewards on match days etc could be around 60 then there is the regeneration of the area.....
How many jobs will wasps moving here create?

I have never understood how the council have got away with insisting that a sports team is responsible for regenerating the area.

James take your Cov City fan glasses off for a minute.

CCC look at the wasps proposal as they are duty bound to.

Wasps are eventually aiming for around 20,000 fans in the stadium (eventually)

The current anchor tenant is adamant it is moving out in 4-5 years time. It is moving a sporting team out of the Coventry City Council Catchment area.

A local charity who helped out in the past say they do not want to run the Ricoh it was never meant to be long term. They want some money back out of it that they can use to regenerate the city and help Children in poverty.

ACL it seems either break even or make profit out of concerts or conferences.

The Council have a goal to get the area further developed but can't afford to do it. They believe rightly or wrongly whoever buys ACL should do this.

Most on here have stated no other sporting team would want to move to the Ricoh or buy ACL.

The proposal suggests that millions will be brought into the Coventry Economy, jobs will be created and development will take place.
These are the hard fast duties if any council create jobs, bring money into the economy and develop the area.

You rightly say a rugby club should not be Franchised I agree.

However do you think the majority of the Coventry electorate would also agree with your stance. When they are presented with an estimated figure of how much money the council turned down ( it will run into tens of millions) and an opportunity to create jobs on the basis of a rugby club should not be franchised.

Wasps then go else where SISU move out the council get slaughtered for not doing their job and neglect if duty.

The RFU should do the same as the FL ban franchising
The Anchor tenant hasn't been adament about that at all. The comments post return were about building a relationship. Owning your own stadium doesn't necessarily mean a new one and doesn't necessarily mean freehold.

Didn't think of stewards. Is it going to be the Wetherspoons on the old Rowleys Green? That is going to be dead on non matchdays isn't it, saying that it will be a local for the gypsy camp next door. Not that appealing, will stick to the Bull and Anchor!

I feel for the poor people losing their jobs because of the move too :(

Didn't Tim say he was just back from a meeting with highways committee or something like that? That would only be relevant for a new one. How's the relationship building getting on? And the JR?

He can do whatever he wants, he will just brand it ambition and use that as an excuse ;)

I would love for him to come out with "it is just business" one day for something just to see people on here go off their tits about it after they have been spouting it as an excuse for the council.

FFS Nick I lost 2 jobs because they moved it to another part of the country and another 1 because they moved another to Turkey shit happens.

The meeting with the highways agency is nothing to do with the new stadium. He's having a drive put in at home and he needs permission for the dropped kirb ;)

Ah ok, will remember that when people kick off about people losing jobs if the club move. I feel for anybody losing their job full stop though, not just people who work for wasps and won't be able to after the move.

I would love Fisher to explain the details of any bid that SISU had put in for the Ricoh which had been turned down by CCC, Higgs or ACL. Then the details to be put to whoever he says turned it down. We all know he is full of shit, but when it comes to a supposed bid he suddenly is telling the truth to some. All he has said was that the last bid started at 2m and could have gone up to 10m. But as usual no details but some think it was a good offer whilst knowing nothing other than Fisher is a bullshitter.

I would love for you to actually reply to points after reading them rather than going off in your own little world about unrelated shite in every thread about how bad sisu are. People know they are, they don't need reminding with long essays every 5 minutes in every thread.

Everybody else is always wrong and you are always right and know best. We get it.

What I don't get is some posters on here who seem obsessed with one aspect and the politics, I may not agree with LAST, BHSB and Michael with some of their views and the way they go about some things but you can really see the passion for the club, the football team and the city. There are some strange posters on here though who only ever want to talk about the politics and not too fussed on the football.

Then there are others who just seem to get their opinion from whatever is posted in the telegraph that day.

Protecting a community asset.

Protecting a commercial interest.

I refuse to believe you cannot spot the difference, and I know you're not so stupid to understand the difference.

ACL is the Leaseholder, which CCC owned 50% of, no confusion over leasehold or freehold there.

They wanted to protect their, yes, commercial interest in ACL, which they saw as a long term investment.

Two years down the line and they've flogged it off on a 250 year lease, for £2.77 million and Wasps repaying the loan.

Is that a long-term investment?

Even the shittiest hedge-funds seem to,unfortunately, hang on for longer than that.

Oh yes Nick.

I don't read the Telegraph.

But we keep hearing about these offers from SISU that have been turned down. But we don't know about any. Yet it is a good point to use against the Wasps bid.

Details that have come from where? We can all guess and put spin onto our thoughts. Hard facts would be better. Yes all sides are at fault. But it would be good to find out how much instead of just guessing.

Surely the point that sorts it all, nothing to do with bids or money is that CCC are involved in moving a team however many miles, just a year after somebody said this:

Ms Lucas said: "As a lifelong Sky Blues fan I'm devastated by the news that confirms our football club won't be playing in its own city next season and for the next three years."The football club should be the beating heart of our city, and I just can't imagine how it's going to be for Sky Blues fans next season.
"I - like thousands of other fans - will not be buying a season ticket this year, and I will not be travelling a 60 mile round trip to see my team play at home."

Yes, it makes her look like a prick. Just business though apparently but if SISU bullshit the fans and mug them off it isn't right. If the council do it they are just looking after the tax payers interests.

What about the tax payers Ann?

I don't know I just know some smart arse will release a figure that the council cost Coventry by saying no.
It is likely to be 10's of millions and you would be the first to jump on your bandwagon and slaughter them for failing in their job

I have never said that they are looking after their taxpayers interests. I am not happy in the slightest about Wasps moving to Coventry. I am pissed off that they have done a deal with them for their part of ACL and extended the lease.

What I have also said is that I can understand why they have done the deal with Wasps. I have explained a few times so no need to again. It still don't make me less pissed off though. How could anyone be happy when the short to medium term for our football club has been put in jeopardy.

That's the point far more people would lose jobs if CCFC left and there was no replacement

Yes you said the funniest you heard all year.

That's his aim eventually

He said below ten k initially
Raising to ten k over time.
Eventually 20k with success.

It's strange he seems to draw a parallel to success increasing attendances.
