Not the prospect itself; don't care if it's Wasps, Gansu Tianma, LA Galaxy, Bedworth... I'm happy because the sale (don't care who to) has ended SISU's chances of crow-barring the Ricoh with their bully boy tactics.

You really are a nasty piece of work.

Welcome to Coventry- The Home of Franchise Sport and the most hypocritcal fans in football.

So your hatred of SISU is greater than your love of ccfc.

Correct on the latter charge, but not the former. That means I won't put the club's selfish interest ahead of what's morally right and wrong.

As for hypocrisy in relation to franchIsing, there's no case to answer - like all fans, I opposed the move to Sixfields because it was an attempt to screw ACL, not because it was part of some plot to turn CCFC into a franchise - that was never going to happen and you know it.

To be honest I'm totally over the moon that SISU can't get the Ricoh. The new stadium won't happen and SISU will slink off with nothing after selling the club for peanuts to a consortium probably involving Gary Hoffman and maybe Byng - mark my words.

He is spot on though isn't he. The hatred does overcome the logic for many of you. Its why most of you never ever talk about football but make attempts to point score for anyone against sisu even though every single step makes the club more and more unsalable.

That doesn't matter though does it? The death of the club is a small price to pay for giving old Joy another one in the eye

Pot kettle black me thinks.

Most of us could see the damage the rent strike was going to cause, most of us could see the damage moving to Northampton would cause, but you kept egging them on.

Sisu's rent strike brought about the liquidation of ccfc Ltd, and with it our option to buy half of acl. No rent strike would mean no Wasps.

You know all this, yet you still support sisu's actions. All due to your hatred of CCC.

He or you are spot on?

You are possibly right about the death of the club and that is what upsetting people and that's why they are centring anger towards the main cause of the problem.

You focus your anger and what the majority see as the lesser evil in the problem its pretty much as simple as that, you just don't see it for some reason.

Most who vent this anger, also attend the matches or listen if they don't and post in the football forums.

This is where I totally respect people like BHSB, LAST, Duffer etc. While obviously everybody has different views there are some people who obviously dislike SISU but they seem to have the club and the football side's (which is why we are all on here) interests first. What I don't understand is the people who put so much time in coming on places like this and literally just talking about the politics side of things but don't actually seem fussed about the football. We are all football fans aren't we, we don't go to games to talk about how good that real estate deal was, it is about the players on the pitch. Yes we are playing shit at the minute so I can see why people would lose motivation to go but I think most who give it the big one about never going again would just go still no matter what. While even OSB talks numbers all day every day and business, I think he is a football coach and still goes to watch his lad play as well as CCFC so while we joke about "council lovers" and "sisu lovers" most of them do still just want to go to games on a Saturday and watch some blokes kick a ball about and talk about why they are crap.

There are some really strange ones who stand out on here now we have gone back to the Ricoh though (not naming names) ;)

Got a link?

It wasn't abusive or anything just debate with a bit of banter taken in right spirit. An apology for the accusation. Not an apology for offence or anything like that.

It's nice to point out to Grendel that he has his facts wrong in a post slating me for getting my facts wrong that's all ;)

If you are referring to myself I attend the games and contribute to the football threads. Most recently giving the players scores.

I am getting frustrated with it as it is IMO glaringly obvious we don't have the right players in the wing back position. This stifles our whole game.

If Phillips and Haynes are not fit or ready then we should be able to adapt the formation until we can use them.

I think this idea of the Coventry way getting played at every level is a good one.

However adapt it when needs be.

I'm in the category you just described - to me, whether we beat Bristol City on Saturday, or the result of any other game, is of distinctly secondary importance to the ongoing ownership problem. I've said many times and I say it again - we can't prosper as a club with SISU at the helm, so first priority is to get rid of them. I'm not one of these "I don't care who owns the club, I just want to watch my team" - that's a short sighted view that will keep us in the doldrums.

The annoying thing for me is that although most fans want what is best for CCFC, they seem to have lost sight of the concept that other people, especially the council, don't have an obligation to bend over backwards to help us. Some fans on here sound aggrieved that we've been wronged in some way...it's like they never heard of the JR and the verdict that explained how CCFC/Sisu set out to destroy ACL. Why would ACL and its owners help us after that? Why would the council think it was a good idea to sell to SISU after the aggressive, bullying tactics of the rent strike?

Some people just don't see that. Imagine that people on here were trying to blame the iceberg itself for sinking the Titanic. I'd write "well, it's not the iceberg's fault, it's not played an active role in this and the ship sinking is just a natural conclusion of the ship running into it" .... people on here would be accusing me of being an "iceberg lover" and saying that the iceberg should have done more to help out the ship when it was in trouble, should have moved out of the way, etc etc - it would be comical if it wasn't quite so fecking stupid.

I have to say the titanic description is nearly right. Except prior to hitting it, the iceberg would have also have to have saved the titanic once before from sinking.

That Iceberg example is miles off. A better example would be where one of the ship's drivers / captains had 20 pints so was out of it and another had 5 pints and the bloke watching the radar or whoever usually checks for icebergs had fallen asleep. There would be a few people to blame there, not necessarily all equally but all have done something wrong in the whole mess.

Yeah but all those people are to do with the Titanic, not the iceberg...petty offer Deliu, ship's boy Igwe, first mate Timmy, captain Joy etc - yet people on here would blame the iceberg!!

How can you give up on your team, even if it is a wheezing corpse and a former shadow of itself? I don't know at what point a team etches itself into your DNA but the transformation is immense.

Defeat really hurts and victory brings a stupid swell of elation. You almost become bipolar. 90 mins can wreck the next thirty six hours.

That doesn't mean your attendance doesn't dwindle, the humiliation can be too much to bare, the combined emotional and financial cost too high to justify. But still you can't shake that, how have they done feeling, the secret longing for victory.

It is tough being a Sky Blues fan and understandably the level of faith waxes and wanes. It was always a club for mutual thumbs up respect. The shirt was always a welcome sight across some foreign bar at results time on the opening day of a season.

I don't get the current trend to slag half the fan base off for non attendance, moan about small gates and glorify a small loyal band. It is almost like certain people are frightened of success and big gates as that would spoil their 'special' relationship with the club. To me a fan is a fan and it is not for me to sound out their level of personal commitment.

What we need from the club is an identity, a plan, effort, entertainment, value for money hopefully culminating in some success. Fans need to feel valued, by the owners, by the players, but most importantly by each other. We can't expect player to come and be proud of our club if we are not proud of ourselves.

Also regarding 'hating SISU'
I have met both Tim Fisher and Joy Seppala. I actually like both if them.
That does not mean I will come on here and agree with the path they have and are following if I think it is wrong. I never say nasty stuff or hatred. I just debate why it is the wrong route.
I felt this about not agreeing a new rent deal
I felt this about not concluding buying half if ACL and felt we needed all of it ASAP.
I felt it about the JR.
I felt it about the threats and the move to Northampton.
I felt it about the threat of a new stadium.
I felt it about the continued threat of a new stadium.

I don't hate them as some suggest they are nice people from what I can see I just disagree with their policy and tactics I have told them so and will continue to say it on here.

One thing I do give them credit for they will meet you anytime any place to debate it

Been watching and supporting the Sky Blues since the Jimmy Hill days, but my enthusiasm has been dwindling since Sisu took over.
Couldn't bear to go to Northampton, couldn't get a ticket for Gillingham and haven't been this season. To be perfectly honest with people like Fisher running our club I don't forsee any improvement while he and Seppalla are still here.
Would love to have the situation where the team are chasing promotion but it's more likely that mid table obscurity is the best we can hope for.

I was over for the Crawley and Crewe games, and to me the club has an awful feel of decline about it.

The Crawley game in particular- played in front of the smallest home gate in living memory (?) was just not fun- I actually enjoy going to work more. Crewe away was also tedious, and I find it hard to watch a game but limited set of players toiling fruitlessly in front of some incredibly irate fans- and both games cost £22 each, which is wildly excessive considering the poor fare on offer.

So I won't be trying quite so hard to organise my trips over around the fixture list. Life is too short, so I'll wait and see if any new direction comes out of the Wasps episode (oddly enough as I write, a wasp has flown into a spiders web on my window. An omen?).

Last game I actually enjoyed was a 3-2 win away at Milton Keynes a couple of Christmases back in front of 5000 away fans. The team that got that result no longer exists as the club seems to have a policy of charging as much as possible for the weakest team they can get away with- yet another wild miscalculation.

So no, I'm not going to punish myself any further.............but this may of course change if they start winning loads of games (the wasp escaped).

The last time I got conspiracy theorist thrown at me.
I had suggested the rent strike was about devaluing ACL to pick it up on the cheap.
Looks like high court judge believed my rubbish

I don't know how the likes of Nick Grendel Torch, Sick Boy et al have the gall to keep coming on here acting like that TBH. They've been proven wrong at every turn, it's obvious to the point of sadness that they have some kind of axe to grind despite being proven wrong time and time again. I wouldn't worry about the flailing comments about conspiracy or anything else, just rantings of some very sad people. In another time they'd be writing to the Telegraph in green pen about how the council should get the cats out of their garden or something.

What have I been proven wrong about? Which statements have I made that have been wrong?

I am not saying I am always right, but I do try to apologise and acknowledge when wrong. Just ask Sky Blue Kid.

So you don't see an ounce of hypocrisy? Don't get me wrong, if the council hadn't laid all of the emotional crap when we moved then they wouldn't look as bad would they? Or if it was Cov Speedway or Cov RFC.
