Wasps talks positive but ........... all about revenue streams on none match days!

"They understand that and understand that the longer-term ambition for the football club is to be in a stadium where we access revenue 365 days a year – not on 23 or 24 days.”

Notice there is no mention of building one, to me it looks like Waggot blurred the lines there & the Cov Telegraph missed the subtlety.. and blasted 'SISU are gonna build a stadium' over their headline.

The original 3-5 year schedule is surely reset with the return to the Ricoh?
The urgency has gone as there are no looming penalties from the FL.

The urgency has gone that is true but the crowds will carry on dwindling as the years go on but by then they would have built this so called stadium we will be in the conference.

Facts are SISU are living on a prayer.

If this imaginary stadium is built we will be tenants there as well, and always will be.The owners will be SISU, always will be, and we will never ever own that ground. We will be paying rent,as tenants to SISU, always will be.

CCFC will never own the new pie in the sky stadium, we will be tenants ,and we will be paying for SISU's incompetence forever.

You're connected RFC. How are they going to generate this all year round income? From the "plans" they've turned out I dont recall seeing a Hotel, Casino and exhibition hall. Surely this is what gives the Ricoh all year round income?

Maybe the plan is for the sauce stations to dispense addictive substances, that'll reeel 'em in!

Will they build s new stadium cheaper than they could have got the Ricoh for if they were reasonable people or like WASPS will get it for.

SISU haven't shown that they have any commercial acumen to successfully run a league 1 club never mind build a successful money generating football stadium - it requires a long term vision and investing cash something which has been missing from SISU. Its 2 1/2 years since they stopped paying the rent at the Ricoh and not hint of even land acquisition, they way the team is going and the fans are deserting the club what will be left in 5 years if a stadium is built.

SISU will continue to pretend there is a new stadium as part of the fantastic negotiating tactics with WASPS - we've all given RFC to much air time, there will be no stadium

Like you I don't know where it will be built ( but have a very good idea where ) and your talking about an acquisition of land between 50 & 70 acres ( with additional adjacent land for further future development ), so consultation and accurate detail are essential. I'd refer you to the recent minutes of the Stadium Form Group.

So what is your guess, as you say you have no inside knowledge, we would all be interested to hear that.

"They understand that and understand that the longer-term ambition for the football club is to be in a stadium where we access revenue 365 days a year – not on 23 or 24 days.” That's what SW is quoted in the CT as saying about talks with Wasps. He hasn't said anything about building a stadium or owning the Ricoh. He's not even saying we need all of the stadium revenue - just access to it. It seems to me that Sisu is beginning to soften it's stance.

Don't the FL rules require a more permanent home than 5 years.. the orig. 5 years was to relocate.. after which penalties apply..

Come to think of it, what is the FL position now, we need a statement..

Not about the pie money, it's about income and revenue streams the other 340 days each and every year.

Regarding the building being started that will happen if and when the land purchase and planning go's-through but before that happens you have to jump through an enormous number of hoops.

Highways, environmental, local roads and transport links etc. etc.. Unfortunately authorities tend to move at a snails pace!

Unless of course you buy a purpose built stadium with revenue streams already attached at a fraction of the cost.

Even Wasps recognise, more realistically I think, a new stadium project beginning to end is more likely to be 10 years. You can also get along way down the road, investing money for it to implode...las they have already found out.

That's an aspiration like 365 day revenue but the reality is SISU are highly unlikely to deliver on this, plans and fancy diagrams don't count.

Well I bloody well hope so.

The answer does not lie in a new stadium.

Although he's not directly as quoted as saying it, the CT have written it in the article, therefore he probably did say it, it's just they haven't used it as a direct quote.

Please try and be factual at least!

The capacity will be between 16,000 & 18,000 which is sensible if you look at our average gates over the last 15 to 20 years ( apart of course from our initial season @ the Ricoh ). If success followed as it's module ( similar to Rotherham's New York Stadium. (S60 1AH) also check out www.newyorkstadium.net/

I do beg your pardon for being out of kilter with projected stadium capacity.

Yes you're right RFC, another 6,000 capacity is going to make a significant positive difference to the 24/7/365 revenue streams for our majestic new arena out in the wilderness attended 23 days of the year by as much as 7,000 if we're doing well and as few as 3,000 if we're not doing so well.

Lucky we've got you on this forum RFC keeping us in the loop on all developments.

Stu, I've re-read the article and the use of quotation marks indicates to me that it is a direct quote.

Just a thought Rev--if this cloud cuckoo land stadium is outside the Cities boundaries it will only need to hold 1500 plus a few away fans.
Therefore it should be very cheap for CCFC to rent from sisu.

Providing all things are equal and (I know they are not of course) and that the site(s) for the new ground are being subject to the vaeious land purchase and planning procedures for the last 18 months there must be dozens of people working on this project SO WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A SINGLE LEAK OF THE PROGRESS TO DATE ???.

The answer is obvious - there is no new ground and never has been and never will be. All the key procedural parameters associated with this sort of venture are now quite rapidly being eaten away by the passage of time eg: the 2+2 year window is now 1.5+2 with nothing evident to show from the last 18 months.

So Mr Fisher before we hit the 1+2 please show us some level of intent at least we deserve that.

Surely if SISU are in negotiation on a 50/70 acre plot not one jot of information has been leaked? All of those people, authorities involved and all not saying a word - never!
Also I seem to recall all surrounding District Councils were asked via FOI submissions if they were in/had any discussions with SISU and all gave a negative response.
To be fair there was a strong rumour that Joy and Sandra are very close to agreeing on the soft furnishings for the boardroom, that is surely a major and
significant step forward. What more do supporters expect, after all they have only been working on the new stadium project for roughly 18 months. Rome wasn't built in a day and clearly neither will stadium 'fantasy'. With the current progress they maybe able to accurately name it the 'Millennium Stadium'.

And this is why they keep looking like incompetent fools. The stadium idea just doesn't make any sense at all and no-one believes it, so why do they keep saying they're building it and what keeps happening to the land they seemingly keep identifying? At least they've stopped saying so many weeks or months to an announcement.

Now they have just gone very quiet in general. Not much at all out of them since we came back home.

Sorry RFC but have to disagree today. Other posters have stated quite correctly that to achieve 365 days of revenue you have got to have revenue earning capability that permits that to happen. That can not be accomplished with a simple 12k stadium. (I recon that with just a stadium they may be able to rent it out a further 10 20 days max) We have to have shops, hotels, clubs etc. Bingo in the club house doesn't work for 365 days a year.

And if you have ever experienced local authorities working on these issues, they work very quickly but have to be thorough, & as they have a lot of compliance to deal with, it takes time. But nowhere near the amount of time Fisher has been spouting his bull. Which is why I struggle to accept that SISU have moved on anything

Always assuming Wasps have the financial clout and funding to make their move a successful one?
Finding out how Wasps are getting their financial clout would answer a lot of questions, 13million debt and been losing 3 million a year for the last 3 years they then get enough financial clout to take the RICOH on mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Come up with a bid to wasps for half the revenue.
If CCFC is successful and commuted long term to the Ricoh. That automatically increases the value of ACL.

Ask Mr Richardson if he is interested in selling half the rights to the revenue for a fair price, in exchange for a long term commitment to Ricoh. It will still be cheaper than a new stadium and even half the Ricoh revenue would probably be more than a new development.

Unless the new development will have a hotel, conference facilities and a casino?

How do ACL get revenue from those - I thought De Vere owned the hotel and a separate company owned the casino?

Certainly would.

In all seriousness, sell me the sodding idea, help me get onboard by showing me some kind of faith it could actually work.

Otherwise, based on what we have... why would I be anything other than cynical and disbelieving?!? And that's a surefire way to antagonise and alienate your consumer base...

Help us believe!

Bugger, West Ham sold Upton Park to developers in Feb. Could have been a good option for us, would just need to sell the idea.

How long were wasps looking without success for a big stadium in and around london?

Not comparing SISU to these but it is what it feels like.

You surely can't compare to sisu, as no one believes what they say.....unless it's to try and win an argument on here....

Now Eastwood on the other hand...

Yeah, it's working well, you can see everybody believing a new ground will happen can't you...
