Who Is To Blame For Coventry City's Awful Start?

This form isn't exactly great is it? We're showing the form of a relegation threatened side at the moment and with our usual drop in performances at Christmas not too far away, this could be a pretty bad year for us. But whose fault is it? SISU have sold every good player we had and didn't even try to keep out of contract players, even those like Joe Murphy who wanted to stay from the start. And whats more, SISU have refused to give Pressley any money to buy new players. Wheres the £3M from Wilson's transfer? In all fairness, Pressley hasn't exactly been a tactical genius this season and has made some big errors in terms of formation. Some are questioning the dedication of the players, whilst the lack of support from some of our fans, who campaigned for so long to bring our club home, also has to be a factor. So for this week's Cooks Question, we want to know who you blame for our woeful start to the season; our esteemed owners, our hero to villain manager, the lads in sky blue, our invisible fan base or just the level of difficulty our games so far have been? Or is it a mixture of all 5? You can choose more than 1 option if that's how you feel. Also, tell us why you blame them. Please remember, if you don't want your comment read out of the show, please say so. Sports Lounge kicks off on Hillz FM 98.6 at 10AM Thursday morning so tune in if you can. Thanks again for your brilliant suppport

WE are....for accepting it, and we have for years now. We allow our club to be run by idiots and some even praise them

Lack of support is all a part of the vicious circle.

Money is tight so people have to decide on what they want to spend it on. The football isn't enjoyable so people wonder why they should spend their money on it. Some (possibly most) decide the money is spent better elsewhere rather that 90 mins of frustration. Lack of supporters make the team wonder why they should bother. This in turn leads to poor performances - along with tactics that don't work - and in turn leads to more people wondering if they could spend their money on watching still. And repeat..........

Sisu. I draw the line there.

Blame SP and the players all you want and rightly so as they are crap but if they are why are they here?

Our owners have a part to play thats for sure , it doesnt alter the fact we shouldnt be 1 point off the bottom of league 1 , the tactics all fall at the feet of steven pressley

Because SP brought in the wrong players?

And who appointed him and so on....?

Stewardship of our club is the issue, always has been.
If those cannot accept or begin to understand what that entails, what hope is there?

Well yes, I know that. But did that prevent SP from bringing anyone over 11 stone and over 5' 9?

We all know he's hands are tied, but on the whole he seems to have brought in slight, slender players, who are not tall and who lack any physical attributes about them.

We can't argue that there weren't more combatative players out there to be had.

So fault travels solely upstream, got it. When the defence stands still to watch another goal go in, it's because of the coach who prepared them, which is because of the manager who brought him in, which is because of the board who brought him in, which is because they swallowed a fly. I don't know why they swallowed a fly.

Although I think pressley probably has to go, Sisu have to take the majority of blame, they are killing this club and its on its last legs now. Continuous asset stripping since they arrived and now even uncertainty about playing in our own city. The manager though has to do the best with what he's got and pressley isn't really doing that. Made some shocking signings as well.

SISU wheeling and dealing?? Tim and Joy dont sign the p*ss poor players do they. We have outlayed a decent amount on wages.

SISU should be changed to say Waggot & SP's signings.

For the poor start, I'd say SP's tactics.

I think we have some good players, but are not being utilised in the right way.

Wether the quality of players we have are a result of our owners/playing budget, I don't know, but SP did sign the players to be fair.

So his hands are tied but we expect him to paint a masterpiece? This rapid decline would have happened last year but he got lucky with Wilson and Clarke - or should that read; "Sisu didn't expect the team to be carried by a couple of players....." ?

The wage bill is still in the top 10 in the league. And look at Doncaster a couple of seasons ago won the league having on paid for 2 players, billy Paynter and lee fowler (undisclosed on a 6 month deal in jan - played 4 games then left on loan in feb)

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012–13_Doncaster_Rovers_F.C._season

Yeovil got promoted the same season with a wage bill of c£800k. It can be done you just need to get your recruitment right. And sp has failed on this front.

No-one mentioned masterpiece, but are you telling me we couldn't afford to sign any physical players? The only players available were small players without physical attributes?

SP and or SW chose the players they chose. Seems clear that SP actually targeted the type of player we now have. He wants to play his free flowing football. We cannot compete against teams with a physical edge though and he has admitted to this himself. We are stuggling against physical sides and at times, getting outmuscled.

That part of the equation has very little to do with hands being tied. This is an avenue that SP himself decided to take us down by choice.

No, but they sell our best players and pocket the cash don't they? If they actually reinvested the money into the squad we wouldn't be in this mess

Not really, cus more than 1 party can be to blame. For example, I feel the fans are letting the team down by booing and no-showing, SISU are to blame for fucking us around and selling our best players, whilst Pressley needs to buck his ideas up. See what I mean?
