....Signing players is always a gamble......If the new strikers were banging them in for fun....everyone would be wanking themselves silly....but to date, they've, on the whole, provided a poor return.
Signing a lanky lower league journeyman whose second touch was often a tackle & pairing him with a lad who had yet to really step up from the academy was a bigger gamble last year......but hey, you win some, you lose some.

Bradford must have the same bank manager then when they sold Nakhi Wells to Huddersfield last season as well then?? League One player, goal scoring record, sold for a reputed £3m to a Championship club.

If Joy Sepalla knew anything about football she would look at where the likes of Bournemouth and Southampton are presently and ask those charged with running our football club why aren't we somewhere near to where they are. The money pouring through both those clubs would mske sisu and more importantly their investors very happy.

If you are still saying that it was a good deal you are either making excuses for those who make the decisions or making excuses for yourself because you said it was a good deal when he was sold. He is knocking them in for fun and setting other players up against much better players. Yet he wouldn't make much of a difference to our results this season?

When we were regularly in the top flight, our attendances were 8-10k lower than that. It would be the same if we moved to a new stadium again...a novelty factor.
You could argue that we're in our current situation due to a number of factors but this has been done to death. You'd argue SISU. I'd argue SISU, Richardson and many others but let's not go there again.

FFS some on here are still acting as if we are a premier league club, the Wilson deal was inevitable and personally thought £3M was a decent amount. The amount of League One players poached by higher leagues season in season out is ongoing and clubs cannot stand in the way of a player getting a role in a higher league and a better salary. Its a shame we cannot keep these players but FFS we have been selling our best players since before i was born so why are people expecting us to change now when we are at our lowest eb since i can remember.
Its shit where we currently are but i think people need to wake up and realise that we are no longer a prem club or even a championship club and cannot expect us to retain a hot prospect like Wilson.

The lack of ambition at this club is truly atrocious. Its always been our Achilles heel but now we're scraping the bottom of the barrel! When the Villa were our nemesis year after year we talked of survival ,they , on the other hand were not content with being out of the top ten . There is nothing wrong in yearning to be in the top flight and talking likewise but to actively support the selling of your best player in return for a few loans is weak

No-one is "actively supporting" the sale of key players......
...it just happens that some of us live in the real world & accept that the sale of players to clubs higher up the pyramid is, & always has been, the norm.

SISU have shafted the club at every opportunity for about 4 years now. The worst example though had to be selling your leading goalscorer in the January when you were already fighting relegation. They'll do it every chance they can in the future too.

Lets compare shall we:
Coventry City - 19th in League 1, owe our owners £44.72m, 2013 accounts show £7.16m loss, don't own our ground but own Ryton.
Southampton - 2nd in the Premier League, owe their owners £32.4m, 2013 accounts show £7.1m loss (excluding transfer fees £8.7m profit), own their own ground and new £30m training centre. Note: have made about £35m profit from transfers over the summer.
Bournemouth - 1st in the Championship, owe their owners £16.2m, 2013 accounts show £15.3m loss (can't find any amount excluding transfer fees but I can see reports saying a large investment was made into training facilities), own their own ground and training centre.
Which club do you think is in the worst position out of those? If either Southampton's or Bournemouth's owners were to sell up there's a good chance they will at least get their money back. Depending on how they are run from the point of the these accounts its also possible for both to run profitably in the future.

Southampton sold nearly their whole first team. They replaced them and are now doing fantastic this season. And they spent less than they brought in. We sold our strikers. We didn't replace them. We are doing shit.

I think its been said before -- sucess on the pitch leads to bigger crowd ,leads to higher gate , and on to more income . If while trying to achieve this you sell your best players your , for want of a better word Fu@ked. Ambition is the key to it all . If SISU dont show any ,at least we can. I still think we could fill the stadium with a good side

Still think that we have a good squad (if not a bit of a risky one with the loans). The main problem has been the formation (5-3-2), we couldn't score, we didn't create and many blamed the squad. We change up to 4-4-2 and we've beaten Peterborough and drawn with Orient scoring 5 in the process. I could never say a Pressley team will be defensively solid, but watch us take off and replicate the first part of last seasons form in the 4-4-2.

Stupid comment....all I am saying is that we would have scored more goals definitely, so we would have had more chance of winning and yes who is to say if we had scored first in some of those close games and Draws that we would then not have gone on to win. So you see it doesn't take 2 goals.

But we had an 8 match unbeaten run when Reda was playing using 5-3-2, don't get me wrong I think it is shit to watch but it does work sometimes.

Quite, you have to show some ambition at some point and with a club like Coventry with the potential support we could generate if we had a modicum of success, you have to give it a go at some point. SISU did throw some money at it 5/6 years ago but the cash was largely wasted and the wages paid were ridiculous to average players. That experience I suppose has dulled the appetite for 'taking a punt'.

Yeah there is certainly a time and a place for it, but from MK onwards we were dreadful playing it. Both the Posh and Orient games reminded me of the first part of last year, we can only hope the defence (REDA) can hold stronger than last year.
