Equally so where is the outrage at London Irish moving out of London to Reading?

Where is the outrage at London Welsh moving out of London to Oxford?

The worst comparable ever. Well done.:claping hands:

I think you are struggling to understand.

Some people went to Sixfields to watch their team play, the team they have supported all of their life and that they love so they went there. These other people liked to call them names such as spineless, selfish, not real city fans etc because they didn't agree with the move and moving teams was wrong. FIX FOOTBALL, the FL allowed this move it needs to be sorted.

Now, another team has moved in to the Ricoh and some of the people who were saying these things about the people who just wanted to watch their team, are actually defending a rugby team being moved and saying how good it is and how they can't wait to go and watch etc etc.

SO, to sum it up. These people who liked to have a go at people watching their team, are going to go and watch a random team they have no affinity with that has been moved halfway up the country.

Now the Council were saying how wrong it was for clubs to be moved, city belongs in coventry etc etc then sell to a team to be moved, can you see the logic and why people think it may make them look bad? I am pretty sure if say the council had sold up to Cov Rugby Club or Cov United it would be a different story. OR if a couple of months earlier (when they probably knew that Wasps were buying it anyway) they weren't giving it loads about ccfc being in coventry to go on a PR offensive it wouldn't be half as bad would it?

Maybe you should be asking the people who were dead against Franchising and didn't want to go and watch SISU FC when we went to Sixfields why they weren't bothered about the other Rugby clubs being moved?

That is what is annoying people you will find.

Now I am not saying it is everybody who was against sixfields, for example there are lots of people LAST, BHSB, Duffer etc who were against Sixfields and against Wasps moving.

Was the OP one of those people if not, yes I struggle to understand. I am talking about him and his post and your reply to him and you keep deflecting off in different directions.

His post only cares about Coventry as a whole including the football club. He doesn't care about wasps fans in Wycombe. Bit distasteful IMO but that's how he feels.

Many others have stated that they only care about the football club and they don't care when things happen that are a bit immoral as long as it benefits CCFC. Like a charity and a council getting screwed. (Bit distasteful IMO)

Yet they are outraged by a immoral decision to move a rugby club.
Really the majority are just pissed off as that affected the football club as that is all they care about. Same regards for this chap he just cares about Coventry as a whole a does really care about wasps. He is more similar to you and many others than you think.

Bloody hell you keep tub thumping the same tired line constantly.

PLEASE TRY AND UNDERSTAND FOR ONCE.....most people in fact nearly everyone are appalled at SISU, The Council, ACL, et al in different measures. They are also appalled at Wasps moving here, and how it affects their fans, as we didnt like when our club left Coventry albeit temporarily, and yes most of us are concerned at how it will affect CCFC, but also CRFC which a lot of people such as yourself so easily forget.

You just seem to focus on the extremities like Bigfatronssba and use the most extreme analogies to try to prove some ridiculous point of order.
Oh and the initial poster was a WUM, a bit like you can be at time.

I think most people are more outraged by the double standards shown by some fans. Going from abusing other fans for "supporting the franchise" because they go to watch their team play to coming on forums trying to justify why it is ok to move another club.

The original post was a bit of a WUM attempt wasn't it? How would it go down if a new user signed up and their first post was to say they were going to Sixfields? Would people have been saying "oh but he just loves his club"?

No deflection just a simple fact I was not referring to you.

Yes I know and I keep asking why you havent answered the rest of my post, you know like how you chastise Grendel if he did the same, and yet its ok for you and not for him.

Wow that's ironic as we were just discussing hypocricy:pointlaugh:

He made a post how do you know that that post is not his opinion?

He got a replies slating him for not slating the wasps thing and effectively calling him a hypocrite.

You may not be one of them and hence as pointed out to you repeatedly I was not referring to your post. I can ask you to see try and understand that ( without putting it in capitals). However when you say extreme actually quite a few people did say they don't care about the council and they don't care about the charity. They only care about CCFC. This has been said in here quite a bit.

So yes when someone is called a hypocrite because they don't care that wasps were franchised. You will have to excuse me when I find attacking that person hypocritical.

No, he wasn't slated because he didn't slate wasps.

It was because of the fact he was clearly going on about ccfc being moved out and how the owners would be bad for that, while going on about how good it is wasps have moved here. Surely if people are going on about how it is good wasps are here, they can go and watch top class rugby and it is all ok then they will support ccfc moving out too?

Nobody has been attacked have they?

Here it is again put very simply...

Decisions that screw over others but benefit CCFC = good

Decisions that screw over others and CCFC = very bad

Bloke who is not bothered by the morality of a decision that screws over CCFC =. Hypocrite.

Bloke who is not bothered by a decision that screws over others but is ok for CCFC = not a hypocrite

Summary hypocritical outlook

Look I dont care whether you were responding to Nick, I was just responding to your diatribe and the dross you are serving up this morning.

You just write for the sake of writing sometimes, tiring endless pieces of prose that say the same thing time and time again. You even argue yourself into submission sometimes.

In reality I am just absolouteley f*cking bored of it, and wanted to let you know.
Do you undertsand I am just expressing my opinion, or am I going to get another chapter and verse?

He doesn't want Coventry outside if Coventry as he thinks that is bad. His whole thought process is just based in Coventry.

I for one don't think CCFC has to be in the boundaries just reasonably close. However this is his opinion.

Yes he has been attacked on here for his post for been a hypocrite ( by hypocrites IMHO)

It seems this may be ignoring the majority of posters, to prove a slanted opinion.

Majority view - All parties bad for their own individual reasons. SISU without doubt despiused and to blame for the majority of this debacle.
Dongo view- will try and make someone look bad by twisting posts to suit my sad agenda.

Spin, spin and more spin.

Im sorry for being rude Dongo. I dont like being harsh, but I feel quite strongly about how this issue is being spun, to suit what I see as an agenda, and I dont like it.
I apologise if I have caused you offence.

No offence caused definitely. I do see where you are coming from and agree with a lot if it.
However I do feel and I don't include you. That some people did not mind so much SISU screwing over our council and our local charity. The justification was well I don't really care about anything but CCFC. I do recall people for example saying words to effect that they were not particularly fussed about Coventry and the city itself just the football club. Also people have stated that what happens to the council or the local charity is of no relevance to them. What's best for the football club is all that matters to them. Which is fine if that is there opinion. However the same people are then having a go at others who are not that bothered about wasps fans. All of a sudden you should care about wasps fans and the wider picture of franchising.
When really I feel with some people its purely because it is a decision that affects CCFC badly as oppose to them actually giving a damn about Wasps.

I can't help but feel if Wasps came here buying CCFC promising to inject 20 million into the playing side. I think we would get the odd comment and that person would get shot down. Franchising and wasps fans would not be at the forefront if people's minds.

My own opinion about it FYI

I was against the Northampton move as I feel it was about devaluing ACL and was not forced upon us as it was portrayed. That us why I could not attend. If I genuinely felt there was no option I would have gone.

I blame our owners and the FL for allowing it. I never blamed Northampton they would have been crazy to say no and generate much needed cash for their club.

Regarding Wasps I am the same I blame their owners and the RFU. I don't blame the council or the charity. They would have been crazy to say no and leave themselves to the perils of SISU.

So when I hear people saying the wasps thing has exposed a load if hypocrites it annoys me. I will never be able to prove it but I do feel if the decision benefitted CCFC we wouldn't have heard a third of the complaints

If the complaints were dependant on how the club benefitted that would just emphasise the hypocrisy further. It's certainly not a one-way street.

The perils of SISU? Where we not told at great length that ACL was a sound and viable business, and that SISU's attempts to distress them were futile. So how exactly were they vulnerable to them?

They didn't have to sell to anyone according to their argument throughout CCFC's absence 'we don't need the club' was the tagline I believe.

The council and charity had a clear choice.. their hand was not forced.

Cheers Dongo, a good post.

I take on board what you have said, and fully understand and respect what you are saying, and where you are coming from. We differ on some things but then agree on others.

The whole thing seems to be a never ending nightmare, and I just fear what else is to come before we wake up!
Hopefully after this we can look back and just be glad it is all over.

How do you know somebody else did not step in to save the day and that they were heading towards getting nothing and ACL getting wound up.
SISU were told the freehold was not available and asked to put in a sensible offer by January or other avenues would be taken seriously. SISU ignored that and made no offer.

Yes you are right they did say that.

The charity however have always said they want out and did not want to be doing this long term.
SISU were asked to put in a sensible bid and ignored that saying Freehold or nothing.
Also saying they were moving elsewhere.
So maybe the combination of right price, money raised for the charity. Securing a sporting team for the city etc etc won the day.

The perils of SISU. I mean rent strikes legal action. Saying you are coming back but only temporary. Shaking in deals then changing your mind.
Whether you can survive or not us one matter. However you needs to know what your business is doing. If there is a football team there for a season 5 seasons 20 season. Has an effect in your other businesses. Such as parking using the pitch as a surface. Concerts renting it to other teams etc.

I can definitely confirm Wasps were called London Wasps until at least about six months ago. i work in sportsbook gaming and we have to use official names on our web site and tickets when paying out, i still work in gaming but a different departement so dont know if its still the same.

Is that trying to say Wasps saved the day and the charity?

Why would it be wound up? ACL was going from strength to strength?

Maybe I don't know.

The charity have always said they wanted out. Was the value dropping and dropping as were SISU seen as the only 'game in town' then Wasps came along. I think the books showed ACL were not at breaking point, did they not.
However if the charity wanted out and ideally wanted to sell. Yet SISU would not do the deal go on rent strikes move out etc etc.
maybe Wasps was seen as the only way out to get the most money by the charity.

A high court judge has read it all and came to the conclusion that SISU were attempting to devalue ACL to get it cheaper. The complexities of that is beyond me but maybe in long term SISU would achieve that aim so the charity may have been very glad to see wasps come along and get 2.7 million of their money back as oppose to the alternative

So you are now trying to make up scenarios where Wasps are good for doing what SISU were trying to do which was bad?

ACL was going from strength to strength without the club, they said it, PWKH said it.

This is getting silly but check your facts before you reply

Don't hold your breath on that. What is happening to our club is very very sad but there are a few here who seem to be focusing too much
on the Wasps and nick picking on silly flaws on a trust letter to the owners than question what our actual owners are planning to do with
our club.

I have noticed that some of the poster who seem to get most irritated by any SBT members like yourself saying anything positive about the
Wasp are the same posters who naively followed SISU believing there philosophy that there would be no one out there who would buy the
Ricoh and proudly making statements here to the effect that the Ricoh would become a big white elephant without the football club.

I guess the Wasps had other idea's and bought the stadium. These are the same posters who have realised how deluded they were when they
made these statements hence the animosity towards the Rugby club but don't expect them to admit to it.

This is really depressing.

What about the other people who mentioned it? Why send a floored letter then?

Who has been naive and followed sisu and where?

What you mean it is probably the people who went to sixfields to watch their team and got stick for it now having digs back at the people who were giving out the stick who are now going to go and watch an actual franchise?

No it's quite straight forward

A high court judge looked at it and said SISU were trying to devalue ACL to get it on a cheap. For me that is clearly screwing over a local charity. I have not heard the charity complain yet about the wasps deal. So I will reserve judgement on whether they feel ripped off or not until they say. Wasps put in a bid the charity accepted it, then they did not threaten to pull out if the bid or renegotiate or anything like that. So I don't think they have proactively done anything to try and screw over the charity

Regarding Wasps you are out raged at franchising and think people are hypocrites.
Yet I believe and I appreciate that I will never be able to prove it, that if Wasps came buying CCFC as well promising to put 20 million in the transfer kitty. You would not be on here complaining about franchising. Just my opinion you may say that is not correct and you would still complain. I just don't think you would be.

For the record I was reffering to some of the posters on here.
