That's the whole point. With franchising the distance is immaterial. Its the damage it does to the club already in the area that is one of the main concerns.

The distance is not immaterial that's a ridiculous statement. Wasps moving 100 miles from their home several impacts the ability on a large section of their supporters being able to attend, moving a couple of miles down the road does not. There's several football clubs that play slightly outside the boundary of the place they take their name from, it's totally different to moving to the other end of the country.

As i've said before I think the impact on Nuneaton Town would be minimal. In my opinion anyone who wanted to support a team at a higher level would already be supporting us (not that we're at a very high level these day!), not like it's 100 miles away. However saying that if you look at the posts I have made on the subject I believe that should an application be made to build a stadium in Nuneaton be made any objections from Nuneaton Town or their fans should be given fair consideration. My preference would be a stadium within the city boundary but the consensus on here appears to be that is impossible due to a lack of suitable site so should we just give up and liquidate the club?

No I think Sisu would be moving us 3 miles away because their incompetence has resulted in no other option for them. If they are to be believed they need an asset to sell. They wont give a shit whether the asset is good for the long term potential support of the club.

The view will be that as CCFC fans we would be more concerned about the impacts of moving on CCFC rather than NTFC. Does that make a CCFC fan a hypocrite?

If it was moved to bermuda I think it would still be closer to the ricoh then it would ntfc (think). You just said no other option yourself.

If we did move down the road, as said before I'd expect consultation with both bedworth and Nuneaton football clubs. However, my personal thoughts don't see ccfc gaining more fans from those areas or clubs. It is not much difference distance wise, if the people of Nuneaton wanted league one football they should already be here. 3 miles closer won't be a massive seller.

As Jan said, wasps move here because they can get more fans, bigger potential fan base. Can you see ccfc being moved a couple of miles to get more fans or as you say, they have no choice?

Why should it? Weren't we told by Lucas that Wasps coming to Coventry wouldn't affect CRFC. Did she not in fact say that she would not have agreed to the deal unless she had received those "guarantees" that the move would have no detrimental impact on CCFC and CRFC.

No I don't agree. It's completely different. It's a brand new side parachuted in 90 miles that has no connection to the city, and will affect both CRFC and CCFC. They are here to build a new fan base from scratch, they will hope to steal fans from both CCFC and CRFC.

CCFC moving 3 miles will not impact on nuneaton, we're both established sides in the community, nuneaton people won't just start going because it's in nuneaton, as its 15 min bus ride £1.50 return I believe from nuneaton town centre on matchdays, if they want to watch league football they would already be popping to the ricoh.

Brighton's stadium is within the Brighton boundaries. The reason it is often thought they play outside of there is because a neighbouring council held up the stadium by objecting to the stadiums affects on its side of the boundary.

Grimsby play in a region known as Greater Grimsby, Man Utd play in Greater Manchester, Forest's City ground was originally in Nottingham before the boundaries changed.

Anyway as I said, I don't care about those places. We are our own city and our football club should be proud to play here.

I do get your point, and you might well be right.

However I cannot bring myself to condone moving any club to a different town. Once you condone one move, no matter how small, that opens a precedent for allowing it.

We do know that all clubs get some form of 365 year income, conferencing, meetings, weddings, advertising, naming rights, renting out to PL u21 side, etc. Until we see a business plan we don't know what the viability is. We do know that staying at the ricoh on a matchday only little/no revenue deal is just more of the same.

All I do know is that it was depressing seeing the wasps signage at the Ricoh, and that our badges were hardly noticeable inside the stadia. It sounds as though the concourse and seating will have a face lift in the summer so that feeling of being in someone else stadium is only going to get worse.

12k is just a rumour on here wasn't it? Presumably the same rumour that said its Bermuda.

As I said if we see a business plan that shows it to be viable then I will accept the economic argument (I still wouldn't support a move out of the city though), but until that point, evidence suggests a new stadium would not be to the benefit of CCFC.

Not really, because I drove further than Hinckley to go and watch city play at Sixfields when it was temporary. I said then the moment it turned from temporary to permanent I would be done.

Yep there could be money to be made, probably not the same as the Ricoh granted with the big concerts and it would also need SISU to get a PR transplant.

I do have a problem with Wasps. I would give you the same reply that I gave RFC the other day when he tried to suggest the same thing but you at least make a sensible post once in a while. I just dont feel the need to say it in every post because for some reason I'm more concerned about how our owners are treating us than I am about how wasps owners treating them.
