Why are CWR broadcasting on FM & Wasps are on DAB (23 Viewers)

Right choice by the Beeb, imagine the response if City were 'relegated' to DAB?

Did you need to look up franchising when Wasps moved here or has it been your life's work ?

No there was plenty of chat on here about the prospect of ccfc permanently moving to northampton, and that 4-5 years was pretty much viewed as permanent by some.

That was not franchising that was hedge fund business.
A permanent move for CCFC is not possible, theres no demand.

Mk Dons and wasps have shown that if you pick the right area there will be demand....in fact you're an example of that.

I know who's to blame; SISU and CCC.

However what winds me up is shit from Italia and the rest bigging Wasps up all the time. And you will no doubt disagree but your comment was meant to provoke and it worked. They might be the biggest but they certainly aren't local.

And you know what i'll apologise for reacting but as i said that was why it was posted.

i wrote a reply to you just as I went to post it my internet went down lol so here goes again.

I dont want you to apologise to me,what I want you to do is read my post and understand why I posted it. Whether you like it or not,and I've made it clear I don't,Wasps are now

A local sports team.
The biggest sports team in the city

The questions that need to asked are

Why did Sisu allow this to happen
What are they going to do to rectify this situation
If they are not going to do anything about it then why

Then a question for the football authorities

Is it acceptable for the owners of league club to systematically destroy one of the leagues clubs, and if it is can they give the justification for this, after all the club owner is only the holder not the owner of the so called Golden Share.

There's some real bitterness on here.
You can point the finger at the Council, Wasps, BBC, or anyone else you like.
But the fact remains that more people are watching Wasps than they are the City and that is solely down to Sisu destroying the fan base.
Good luck to Wasps. Fuck Sisu.

We need both to succeed as that is the only chance CCFC has.
IMHO both will be reliant on the other after the initial Wasps euphoria.

Only one can flourish, most people cannot afford to watch both teams regularly.

I wouldn't know how many can afford both but they are not necessarily the same people.
If Wasps are right there is a market here, I can't believe that established football fans will change sports if they don't already have an interest in Rugby.
CCFC owners in reality have no choice but to go along with Wasps. They need to stop fighting and concentrate on the team and fans.

Sorry? I think you will find the market value to have reduced substantially due to sisus action. Without that wasps would not be here. So you don't support the instigator of the action but the scavenger that feasts on a dying carcass.

I would never watch a team that was parachuted from another city. Been offered free hospitality at 3 games but on principal I will never attend.
Ever considered resigning from your White collar position at JLR due to their sponsorship, vis a vis endorsement of Wasps in Coventry?

On principle like.....

Interesting points are made on this thread.

We have to remember that Ccfc haven't been the best supported Coventry club since the 12/13 season now.

There is another problem here.....

The listening audience for City matches seem to have fallen drastically.

Can;t get any supporters to phone in or take part, same half a dozen every week.

So as a business the BBC have probably taken a decision that they need to boost their audiences, not sure how many would listen but I'm sure the figures must be out there somewhere. it would be interesting to see if anyone actually listened to it.

After all When CCFC moved to Sixfields CWR's ratings must have shot through the roof on a match day now I am afraid that move has killed our club and supporters are now leaving in their droves.

But some still moan about anything bar the real reason.

Who fucking cares about the Wasps? we need to concentrate on what is happening to our club before Wasps become the only major team in our City, and our own Club disappears.

BBC isn't really a 'business' though... beyond it being corrupted into such by a society that demands a financial return, when some things are not able to be measured thus.

Back in the day, pre-Sky, Rivals refused to allow MK Dons to have a site, it stayed Wimbledon. A small, ultimately futile act of defiance, but on that made me feel warm inside, at least.

Want to tell Wasps? all of their "community activities" are focused around what they call "our area- Buckinghamshire, East Berkshire, Middlesex and Oxfordshire"

http://www.wasps.co.uk/education/secondary-schools-programme
Secondary Schools Programme

Our Secondary School Coaching Programme offers schools from Buckinghamshire, East Berkshire, Middlesex and Oxfordshire a number of developmental coaching sessions, the number of which is subject to the growth and productivity of the partnership between the school and Wasps. Coaching is lead by our Community Coaching Team. Schools will also be offered the opportunity to:

Enter Emerging Schools Festivals if eligible
Gain professional development through planned Coach Education Sessions for teachers
Get further involved through our Community Team Match Day initiatives.

Wasps have been going into local schools in the past few months. They've been to my daughters school President Kennedy. I believe they are looking at doing training sessions in Coventry in the near future.

Really, it may not be best attended at the moment but it still has the most supporters, they are just lying dormant and inactive at the moment. For a big match CCFC would still have a demand of 2 or 3x of that for Wasps first fixture at the Ricoh.

Been pretty much same half a dozen every week for as long as I can remember.

Yes but now they are phoning them to take part.

Nigel has been phoned on numerous occasions to come on and talk.

People just can't be bothered any more.

I never even tuned in this week totally forgot, only time that normally happens is if I am working.

A Client of mine has a son who is involved with the Worcester youth set up, having also played for Nuneaton youth for several years. They are interacting quite heavily with local rugby teams too from what I've been told.

You must stop talking to yourself.

Sorry, I was under the impression that this was a ccfc forum. Not sure why some need to come on here and make up excuses for a London rugby team moving to the area and trying to portray them as a local team.

The question is ....... Is it better to get involved with Worcester and travel or Wasps who are in town ?
If I understand it right Worcester have feeds from all over the area and that will continue.
Wasps have feeds in London area.
Coventry have few if any ?

Similarly why do people blame Wasps for the position we are in ?
We should target Sisu for where we are and target Wasps for help in getting out of it.
Instead Sisu target everybody in court and our spiral to obscurity continues.

If some target Wasps all the time you can't blame others for putting an opposing argument up, in the hope people get back on track and tackle the really culprit, namely Sisu.

......... and yet a few more find something else to do on a Weekend.

Might have known you'd pop up.

At the risk of being a stuck record, I cannot yet understand how anybody can condone a sporting club being moved for financial reasons. Why would it be in any way appropriate to tie colours to the mast of an entity who shows themselves to have little regard for space, place, heritage, and identity? If it thus suited them to move CCFC for financial reasons, they would do so.

And if we condone Wasps doing it, then we condone CCFC doing it further down the line.

But this is a stuck record.

Sisu took CCFC away for their own financial gain. Wasps bought themselves to the Ricoh for the sake of the team.

I just walk up the Ricoh to watch top class sport.
I'll leave all the chest beating to you.

"Did you have to look up franchising or is it your lifetimes work ? "

"

Absolute bollocks.

They came to the Ricoh for financial reasons, pure and simple.

How anybody can claim otherwise is nonsense.

"Did you have to look up franchising or is it your lifetimes work ? "

Slightly patronising really, and makes you look slightly clueless.
